I love a historic building with charm, which is why we chose this apartment. The location was also excellent. However , this was one of the worse accommodations I've ever stayed at. We stayed three days and all 3 days, we came home with our door OPEN. (We left it shut and locked ) I reached out to management multiple times and they said the cleaner must have accidentally left it open. The interesting thing about that is that the cleaner never actually cleaned our apartment and only sat a towel on the bed. The unit barely had hot water (took about 10 mins of running to warm up and then went in and out alot) There is no AC( I suppose it said this in the description and I could have missed that ) so you have to leave the window open. There's a pretty rowdy bar next door so you can imagine an open window next door isn't ideal. The front door to the apartment didn't have an automatic lock, which means it stayed unlocked 90% of the time. Combined with the cleaner leaving our door open, any random person could walk into the apartment off the street with no resistance. The beds/bedding were probably the worst I've ever slept on. My biggest complaint was the lack of care or communication when I reached out to management. Seward is awesome but this apartment really hurt the experience for us. With just a small investment in locks , mattresses and better cleaners, this place has the potential to be...
Read moreCost is pretty high, I had a studio, bed in your kitchen area. No air conditioning, but it had a ceiling fan. Windows open but no screen to keep out anything your mind could conjure up. Refrigerator was a small dorm refrigerator, which had a small freezer that was solid ice and couldn’t fit anything in to make an ice cube. I actually used it the last night to cool the place at night by leaving the Freezer open to help cool room down. The air was musty, but only stayed for four nights. Luggage up the steep stairs was a weeping moment for me. Having progressive Multiple Sclerosis, this broke my spirit somewhat. The shower floor was dirty with debris located around the perimeter of shower floor. I spent one person, $888.00 from 9th to the 13th. I would not stay there again, the stairs are very steep with a hand rail on one side of staircase. It was safe, which was nice. No ice available, washer and dryer units available for charge many quarters. Process of checking in was difficult, on my part, which I was helped by the property...
Read moreBrown & Hawkins Apartments put us right in the center of old Seward at an excellent price. Lots of space and even more charm in Seward's oldest building. Staff (all being year-round locals) were attentive and proactive in meeting our needs and knew everyone in town for local food and touring...
