First off, Elise, you're the best person to work at Copenhagen sausage garden. You made my wife's first visit to the restaurant an unforgettable experience. Back to the review - I've been here before and I loved it. Every part of it. Atmosphere, staff friendliness, and the food. This time though, it was far more enjoyable than my last visit. We arrived and asked if they were still open since it was 8:07pm and we wanted to be considerate. Elise went and asked if the kitchen was still cooking and they were! We didn't know what to try but wanted their specialty, the sausages! Also got some bread for extra carbs. We got the 5 sample tray, sat down, and enjoyed the cold breezy night next to the patio warmers and football on the TV. Elise came by and gave us our food. We were eating the meal, trying everything, dipping the sausages in different sauces and enjoying ourselves. Elise came by and asked us if everything was tasting great and it was! She offered us any other type of item but we didn't want to because we felt we wouldn't finish it since we were barely making it through our initial order. After we were done, Elise was generous in giving us 2 water bottles and handed us a box of goodies. We opened it and saw that it was a variety of sausages to take home. I initially took out my wallet because no one gets these as a gift, right? Nope, she whole heartily said it was a gift for us to enjoy at home. It made our night even more special because we weren't expecting that. After we left, about 15 minutes later, I had to go to the restroom but all the city bathrooms were already locked. I made my way back to Copenhagen and Elise knew right away what I was going to ask and she was super kind in opening the bathrooms and letting me use them. She didn't have to do that but, she did. Little things make your day, right? Elise made our day ten...
Read moreExcellent, well-priced, high-quality food. My son just obtained a job here and has been raving about the food, owner, and how he loves his working environment! I decided to check it out.... I will definitely go back to order the sampler platter of sausages and cheese (for 2 people), but today my dad was was in the mood for a burger, so I got a Beet and Arugula Salad, w/a side order of a sausage (your choice...I asked for a recommendation and the guy helping us said he liked bratwurst, which I choseit was excellent. The fries were great as well). The iced tea was brewed. Yum! I wish I took a pix of our plates b4 we started....the salad plate I posted is what was left over b4 I boxed it up, but it was still beautiful and an excellent meal! I also included pix of the seating area and you can see the line at high noon! I would suggest trying to get there by 11 am. We walked right up and ordered and barely waited. Nice music playing, BR right there, dog friendly, family friendly....VEGAN sausage available (did not try). I tried to take a pix of the menu as well , but it did not come out, but is avail on the website. They also have a Beer Sampler that I saw going by that looked popular. I can't wait to take the rest of my family back, including my daughter, who would be a candidate for the vegan sausage. Hope you enjoy! I used Google Maps to locate it the 1st time. **A new bldg is in construction right in front of it, but it didn't seem to affect the business....there was a sign out front advertising Root Beer Floats and a few other things that caught my eye...soooo worth the stop! I wish I had asked to meet the owner, but they were super...
Read moreThis place used to be a lot better as far as I remember from a few years ago. But the visit from this past Sunday definitely disappointed. First, we asked the person who was there if they still serve Schnitzel because on their website it says so. He replied back saying no, they have not had Schnitzel on the menu for over two years and the website hasn’t been updated ever since then. Like, what kind of business doesn’t update their website in two years? Second, they did not open on time. We got there 10-15 min before they were scheduled to open and quickly within 10 minutes or so the line was getting longer and longer. Thankfully, we were the first ones to order after we waited for about 30 minutes. I believe this was definitely not to our benefit. I ordered a Hefeweizen and I can tell that I got the first pour from the tab. The beer tasted like a day old. That is something I learned when I was 12 years old and my parents had a restaurant to never serve the first tab pour to someone. Our food made it within 10-15 minutes of wait which was not too bad. However, third, we all ordered a bratwurst and this was everything except an authentic German bratwurst. Unfortunately, the sausage was still pinkish and nothing tasted like a bratwurst. I couldn’t finish the sausage and I rarely ever throw away food. I guess it was not to our advantage to be the first to order. I’m still giving it 3 stars because the atmosphere is great, I’m sure the beer tastes better after a few pours, and the fries and onion...
