Travelodge by Wyndham South Burlington — Hotel in South Burlington

Don't be fooled by the pictures online. This place is a low class motel at best. Upon arrival, the room wasn't cleaned. We found an empty soda bottle behind the night stand. The bathroom door has no lock on it. Our room key stopped working 4 different times and we had to repeatedly get the cards renewed. We were told that our cell phones or wallets could demagnetize the room keys. So I kept them in the card holder that they come in...didnt help, they stopped working again. Never had that happen before in any hotel. The rooms were mediocre with the water pressure fluctuating every time we showered. Our sink faucet leaked when turned on, spraying water over the entire sink. The bathroom only came with 1 roll of toilet paper. On our 2nd night, the cops and an ambulance arrived to remove a man (veteran) who had drank too much and needed to be hospitalized because he was causing a scene. This is what the officer told me. On our 3rd night, all I could smell was pot from 2 doors down while a group of young men partied. The free continental breakfast was horrible. There were 2 bagels, 3 English muffins and 5 sausage patties to choose from. They were out of coffee cups and the cups they use for juice are the small little cups you use from a water dispenser...basically a sips worth of juice. The only positive I can say is that the a/c worked really well although my wife, son and I had sore and scratchy throats from the poor air quality in the room. We felt fine as we returned home. This place is terrible. From dirty ass rooms to a rude and terrible manager who plays favorites with tenants, pays under minimum wage, and has rats, roaches and black mold throughout. There has also been sewage that first floor tenants have complained about coming out of their bathtubs and toilets. I have been living here for a few months and very little gets done to fix anything. Most of the rooms offer little space and mostly broken items such as tvs, phones, and even refrigerators. They will refuse SERVICE animals at the desk and even with proper documentation will refuse a room to anyone with pets. The laundry room doesn’t work, no pool, no breakfast unlike the website says and is all together is a motel that doesn’t deserve to be open. They kicked out all tenants WITHOUT WARNING. They said nothing as a new bill passed to reduce costs and kicked out families with nowhere to go and without warning. If you have the chance to stay here, the sidewalk would be a...

The facility is significantly aged and worn. Matters from cluttered and distressed lobby, exterior hand rails unkempt unpainted in excess of 15 years with wood split and exposed is just the start. Because other sites were full and my need to awake in this area of Burlington this was my only choice. Staff was friendly, the tv did not work (twice) a fellow was pleasant and eventually got it working. Everything in the room was small with tiny bath tiny. My size made use of the bath and shower worthy of a distresed 1920s comedy film. The lobby, then too the room, had been perfumed so significantly my allergies will be two days in the recovery. Price was above rooms generally available, but not available my date. No return visit assured. Corporate Wyndham oversight is not worthy of being a matter to rely upon.
