Staff was friendly and helpful, and the cream cheese was tasty - but that's where my enjoyment stopped.
I ordered the Catamount sandwich (egg, pepper jack, spinach & avocado) on a multigrain bagel. I enjoy heat, but this cheese was overly spicy, and it was the only actual flavor in this very bland sandwich. The bagel was like a hockey puck - small, dry and lacking flavor.
The half-dozen, overpriced bagels I got were also dry and hard, though they were supposedly made that day. (Thank God I didn't buy the day-old ones!)
My mom, who has run 2 successful bagel shops, said it was clear that your bagels are made once per day, and not continually baked fresh, as they should be, to retain moisture.
I can empathize with the reality of tough economic times, but you're sacrificing freshness and quality in the process.
I came in seeking to fulfill my craving for a crunchy-yet-soft, satisfying bagel - and left with only disappointment, and $25 less...
Read moreThere is a lot to love about Burlington Bagel Bakery. Our family has enjoyed ordering from here for literally decades.
Honestly, the bagels are very good but not excellent. Everything else? Love it.
The staff may make mistakes every once in a while but this place is generally very well staffed, they work really hard, and almost all of them seem to really care about running a great shop. It shows when you get in a massive weekend line only to be out the door with your food as if the place only had a trickle of customers.
Their ingredients are high quality. The baked goods are some of my favorite from anywhere, particularly their muffins. While not at the level of your favorite cafe, their espresso drinks are great and well priced.
There is only one thing I don't like about Burlington Bagel Bakery: there is no way to...
Read moreThe employees are sooooo nice. Everything else was terrible. The bagels are hard as rocks. We lived here 5 years ago and this place was our favorite place. Now there is no flavor in the bagels just so spice thrown on top and the bagels make you feel like you're eating rocks. Immediate stomach ache.
The coffee is undrinkable. They used to have Green Mountain and it was delicious. Faovirte coffee place. Now it's the Speeders stuff and the aftertaste is like is like eating a bag of walnuts. So I guess if you like walnuts, a lot them, all at once, you'll love this coffee. No plain coffee. Just this weird stuff.
I'm so sad. We were visiting to reminisce and this was not it. It was absolutely packed so I guess the trendiness killed the love they uses to put into their bagels. I miss it before it...
