In the past, I have gone in and doneboth their Habachi and normal dine-in experience(s). If one want to enjoy entertainment and a special time at Kotos, I would highly suggest doing the Habachi Table. Reserve ahead of time. If you want to walk in and just have the dine-in experience, then be aware that most of the waiters and waitresses are great-but not all. There was maybe once or twice out of many that I have had a waiter that seemed more annoyed to serve us then anything...May be a cultural difference, but dine in experiences does take a star off my reciew due to the fact it has happened more then twice in the last 6 months. Over all, I normally just order their sushi. Dragon roll is my favourite. I have recently tried the Twister Roll as well (shown in my photos) and it's good as well, but does not top the dragon roll. Twister roll definitely has a stronger "fish" taste with small and tiny hint of spice. And of course, a Philadelphia roll for a friend who isn't into sushi, but enjoys a small and simple snack. Over al kotos has been a good experience. Get noodles VS rice. I find the noodles to be more flavourful but it is up to you and your mood.

TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR RECEIPT. I attached a photo (please look at the reviews to find it) of my receipt from kotos along with how much they took out of my bank. The hibachi chef was friendly, however they got lazy with our orders, one of us didn’t want mushrooms so they completely skipped the mushrooms for all of us, and didn’t give us our 2 shrimps that come with the hibachi dinner. Whatever, other not-so-great experience was the waiter was not friendly at all. I noticed days later that they overcharged my card so I call the restaurant and the manager "couldn't find my receipt". So what he offers me is a $0.20 gift card (like I’d ever return here after this experience, and I don't live here!!). So basically he couldn’t give me my money back. On top of all this, I was told the person who enters the tip and total amount on the computer is the waiter. Then it is double checked by THREE managers to make sure the amounts are correct.. so I can't help but question if this is an on-going thing. (I was told about this place doing this and it's the reason I took a photo of my receipt) I don’t care if it was 1 penny, that is considered stealing. Another thing. It was super hot and muggy in the restaurant, we looked up to see if there was an AC anywhere and we saw a vent with built up pieces of dust hanging down like icicles from the vents, it was so gross. I will never be returning or recommending. I will be warning people instead. ((Typically I always tip on average 18%-20%. However, in situations/experiences like this I leave the minimum of 15%

Spacious indoor dining. Has a small stream with small water fall inside with large Koi. Plenty of hibachi tables if you want that experience. We sat a regular table. There are three large dining areas. No issues with getting a reservation while other restaurants in Burlington on weekend were backed up until 8pm (we called at 2pm). Miso soup, Japanese salad dressing, and gyoza (dumplings) were fantastic! Entrees: Chicken Hibachi (similar to Chicken Hibachi is similar except more comes with Hibachi). Was pretty good. They provide a teriyaki bbq and a seafood surprise dipping sauce - I preferred the lemon based seafood sauce (there is no seafood flavor in it). My partner had a Shrimp Hibachi - a little over seasoned and cooked. So so. Prices were moderate for Japanese food. Service was impeccable. Right next to large highway but not near Church Street Marketplace. Medium sized parking lot. No issues finding spot, Easy to see Koto sign from road if you’re looking, but turn into lot may be abrupt so go slow as you approach. We would return here.

I recently ordered takeout from Koto Sushi and unfortunately, my experience left me somewhat disappointed. I ordered a variety of rolls, including 1 Dragon Roll, Salmon Roll, 4 Spicy Girl rolls, Vermont Roll, Sashimi Lover, and Catapillar Roll. The first thing that struck me about the rolls was their texture. Unfortunately, all of them had a soft and mushy consistency, lacking the desired firmness and bite that I typically look for in sushi. It was a letdown, as the texture greatly affected my overall enjoyment of the meal. While the quantity of the rolls was plentiful, I found the quality to be lacking. Considering the total bill for the takeout came to $100 USD, I had hoped for a higher level of craftsmanship and flavor. However, the soft texture and lack of distinct flavors left me underwhelmed. Interestingly, my wife had a different perspective and actually enjoyed the meal. Taste preferences can vary, and she seemed to find the rolls to her liking. However, from my own perspective, I felt that the quality did not match the price point.

We visited as a family of 4 (2x kids, 2x adults) on a Friday afternoon at 4:30pm right when they opened. We requested a hibachi table and were shown to our table. Around the tables were leftover food from the night before. After about 5 minutes at the table, another party joined us and looked as surprised as we did that they were joining us. The place was empty. We all played musical chairs and I was set right next to the images attached. It was disgusting. Service was non existent apart from the basics. When it came time for hibachi and the whole “catch the zucchini in your mouth” stunt, the “chef” thought it would be a good idea to fling a hot oily piece of zucchini at a 1 year old’s face!? 🤬 She instantly started whaling and the other guests at the table were as shocked as us. What a shame that this place has gone so far backwards.

Went to Koto for my birthday - with a good groups of us ladies. Very excited to celebrate. We arrived at 730 and it took about 20 mins to get us drinks and then ordered our food around 8:00PM. We did the hibachi - the food was great, but the experience itself was mediocre. The hibachi chef was not full of energy nor really enticing or immersive. Because we didn’t order until about a half hour in and because the hibachi itself didn’t start until around 820, we were only given about 30/40 mins to finish our food as they close at 9. Towards the end , everything felt rushed and they were just ready to get us out of there. It was an experience, but probably won’t be back again.
