My Heavens, What a Gem! Here's the short and sweet of it: This place is cute and cozy. The folks are really friendly, and the chef, with years of experience, puts the dishes together extraordinarily well. This hidden treat is tucked away inconspicuously next to a busy road. Yes, it's a gas station, and it sits next to an Olive Garden, across from a Volkswagen dealership. But, my heavens, if you haven't ordered food here yet—whether you want to sit in or get takeout—you're in for a pleasant surprise. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Philly. The chef got my food out in just 12 minutes, even with a couple of takeout orders ahead of me. The food was mesmerizing. The chicken was slightly seared on the outside, preserving its juicy interior. Not to mention how tender it was! The peppers and onions were griddled to perfection, retaining a nice bite while being tender and melt-in-your-mouth. The Cajun seasoning was distributed evenly, creating a well-balanced flavor in every bite. It had enough heat to make its presence known, but not so much as to overpower. The homemade fries were about as good as they could possibly be: perfectly cut, freshly made, and sprinkled with nice crystals of salt. I asked the chef how he achieved this, and he said he'd practiced for years. And, let me tell you, my friends, it shows! The balance of flavors was immaculate. You want my recommendation? Even though you don't know me, read the other reviews. This isn't just a gas station—though, yes, it is a gas station where you can fuel up your car. It's also a great little secret place to eat legendary food steeped in rich family history, cooking that has been passed down through generations. Experience it for yourself and see what I mean. Don't let the small space fool you. With a large parking lot behind the building, there's plenty of room for a visit, and it will be well worth stopping. Or, if you're in a hurry, call ahead, and they'll get it ready right quick. Great people, great atmosphere, and awesome music playing in the background. You can tell the chef puts his heart into it because I could taste the love...
Read moreOpen the old fashion wood-frame screen door and you're back in time when a turkey sandwich had REAL TURKEY breast in it, not that chopped-and-formed industrial-made "deli" stuff you get everywhere else. It's here, and it's like sitting at your grandmother's kitchen table, in the 1950s, with Johnny Mathis softly on the speakers. And the folks who run this place fit perfectly into the scene, friendly, warm and comfortable. What an experience!
I got the triple decker turkey club, but without the middle slice of toast, a pile of crisp, sweet-salty still sizzlin' bacon, a beautiful thick slice of tomato (where'd they get that while there's still snow on the ground?), fresh lettuce, and of course that succulent, tender, delicious turkey breast. I got the coleslaw, but those home fries I saw on someone else's plate looked fantastic.
I would have passed right by this Sunoco station without a glance, but thanks to reviews here such as by "Leti Valentin," I have found this rare gem that I hope will remain a...
Read moreThis place is an absolute gem. It's doesn't look like much from the exterior as it's also a gass station, but insisde you will find a small diner like set up. Vic, the owner operator is running the whole show! The food is so delicious and fresh. Everything is made to order, and never with anything processed! The only thing that's processed on the menu are the chicken fingers. My favorite is the Turkey Club. The turkey is freshly roasted by Vic, and it's a pretty huge sandwich. You would never think just hy driving by that you would find such high quality food here. I've been doing fast food for lunch way to much recently. This is my new go to as it's just down the road from where I work....
