Motel 6 — Hotel in South Gate

Dude is straight up racist. Profiled from the moment I walked up. I paid with points and when he saw that he came and said I needed a security deposit of $200! FOR ONE NIGHT lol. This place is trashy far from the Ritz. I have traveled the world NEVER once had to pay 200 for one night that is absurd. I refused to pay him 200. That policy is biased unfair and directed to deter certain people. I asked to see the despoit policy and he refused. They don't have it up. I called best western it is not common to have that high of a deposit.

In my opinion this place doesn't deserve to be In business in this neighborhood. It does everything it can to deter the very people that it resides with. They don't better the community. They are not for customer service. Look at their history look at the ridiculous deposit amount. It speaks volumes as to what this place represents and the simple fact that it exists to take money out of the community a community that should have businesses that raise it up. To the owner you've been reported to corporate you should reexamine your policies and read the room. Raise up be better and represent the community that has ALLOWED you...

We had no maid service for two days straight. Dirty towels, unmade beds, ran out of toilet paper and soap. Can you imagine the pile of garbage that was piled up? The AC unit would turn off at some point each day. When we returned to the room at night, it was 90 degrees inside and the stench of all the garbage that had been festering all day was enough to make a homeless man cringe.

When the maids did come to clean, they came in unannounced, without knocking first, while I was in my towel. So while I'm chillin there half naked, this cleaning lady tries to come in and start cleaning anyways. Lady, take a hint and gtfo. "Please come back in an hour when I'm gone." She doesn't come back...

Long story short, if you want to feel like you're staying in a third world country with subpar service, this is the place. But if you want the American standard (fresh clean towels, soap, toilet paper, daily bed making), HARD pass...

Was told that they can't make a reservation over the phone - they can't take a credit card over the phone. I get here. I'm carrying a bunch of crap. And, I'm told, now, that they can't take debit cards. That would've been useful information! So, I have to find an ATM - they sure don't have one of their own.

The room is dated and dirty. They say they don't allow pets. But, my room smells like a dirty dog. There's a lot of dust above the coat rack and some trash from a previous guest. Dead bugs in the light covers.The bathroom smells moldy. And, the towels are old and dirty.

Don't expect much in Southgate - and you'll still be disappointed. ☺ Drive past "Da Hood" if u can. Expect rudeness from the desk. Don't ask for anything.
