Tierra Mia Coffee — Restaurant in South Gate

Excellent service, great menu. Most of the staff are always in a great mood. I've only come across one or two cashiers with a 'whatever, I don't really want to be here" attitude but the rest of the staff makes up for that.

Prices are reasonable on most items but Im still not sold on paying over four dollars for a cup of Joe. Specialty drinks?ok. Cup of coffee?.. NO. I would expect that from some silly place like blue bottle or the classic and pretentious handsome coffee roasters.

Nice assortment of pastries (not frozen, btw. They make their own not far from here) so kuddos for that. I come here to edit on my laptop and for the white noise which Allows me to get in the zone.

I do love the fact that they do not have Wi-Fi and that is because they want to promote social interaction. It is pretty refreshing to look around and see people engaging with each other as oppose to a room full of people with their faces burried in their devices or doing that stupid vertical zombie swipe as they stare blankly into their phone.

Gets a little busy at 7pm ish and if you can drown out the occasional children running around you will be fine.

Over all I like this place. No snobbery from baristas or foul attitudes.

I popped in here on Sunday morning before grabbing a few last minute Christmas needs. Parking was a little limited but I managed to get a spot at the pancake place nearby (I don’t know if that’s actually allowed tbh). I get inside and there’s virtually no line. Just two people waiting for their drinks and one person ordering. Everything looked SO good in the pastry case. My mom and I got a banana nut muffin, a tree leches muffin and a blueberry muffin (we were hungry) we also ordered two horchata lattes. One hot and one cold.

When you compare prices and quality, you can’t beat Tierra Mia. In the past, I would have easily paid around $40 plus dollars for the same amount of food and drinks at a “bigger chain” coffee place but it was a little over $20. The lattes were DELICIOUS!!!! Such good flavor. The cinnamon. The sweetness. So perfect. But the star was really the strawberry tree leches muffin. So unique. Really recommend that one.

Someone else took my order, I waited 10 mins to say something, when I asked they said that order was already gone someone else took it… I was in a hurry so I asked how long would it take to get me my drinks again, they didn’t take long, but it was the customer service, they seemed annoyed even bothered that they had to fix the problem that happened with me, never got an aopology or even a smile, is the way the two baristas behavior was, as the barista was putting my drinks in the counter she just look at me and said there “you go” like saying leave already someone else said something about the cups being about Christmas design to him she smiled and answered him nicely and all, like insinuating, you are a nice customer I will smile at you but not to this other customer I was not even mad at the baristas not at all, I understand it wasn’t their fault, is the attitude they had when having to fix a problem, and making the customer...
