My wife and I wanted to get away for four days but did not want to take a lengthy drive. We checked out a few B&Bs online but the available days and pricing didn't match our needs. When we expanded our search to include Connecticut, we hit the jackpot with Homewood Suites. An extended stay hotel This hotel offers all the conveniences of home away from home. We booked a king studio suite which was spacious and very comfortable--see the photos. We arrived on Wednesday so we enjoyed their weekly complimentary dinner which included buffet style soup, hot meal entree, salad, chips and dip, beer on the tap and more--see photos. Clean and comfortable One of the first things you will notice as you enter the property is how clean and well maintained it is throughout. The cleaning staff is very friendly and eager to help. I found the earth-tone room decor very inviting and restful. The indoor air quality in the room and throughout the property was very comfortable. Those with sinus issues will appreciate this fact. Amenities and more The property features and indoor pool, fitness center with professional-grade equipment, a lighted basketball court, computer room with Mac and PC workstations, complimentary breakfast (see photos), meeting room that seats 40 people and a comfortable lounge and dinning area. Parking is free and there is complimentary wifi service throughout the property. The room featured a host of amenities too numerous to mention but included a king bed and sofa with pull out bed and two comfortable, upholstered chairs, work desk and kitchen with two burner stove, microwave oven, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, HD TV and thermostat controlled HVAC. The only downside was the bath featured a stand up shower. For an additional ten dollars, we could have booked a king one bedroom with a tub. We definitely will in the future. A job fair in December On Wednesday, December 1st the hotel is featuring a job fair. So if you are looking for employment in the hospitality industry you may want to check it out. You won't be disappointed If you are looking for an affordable hotel with the amenities and service you would expect from pricier properties, you should definitely check out Homewood Suites by Hilton. Hopefully this review and photos will help convince you.

Do NOT stay at this hotel if you value safety and security! I have stayed in hundreds of hotels in dozens of countries and I have never experienced anything like this hotel. The management and staff have completely lost control of the hotel. For starters, both nights we were there, there was a loud noise coming from the floor above us all night. We came to find out that a small number of adults had rented maybe a couple of rooms for dozens of children. The children ran around the hotel completely out of control all hours of the day and night. Worst of all was the pool area. I tried to take my 7 year old daughter to the pool but it was out of control and unsafe. I personally witnessed more than 30 kids of all ages in the pool at one time. At most, there were 2-3 adults in the pool area. The kids were out of control, running, jumping, diving and even fighting. Anyone that came to the door with no key card, they let into the pool. When we talked to someone at the front desk, they said "There is nothing they can do. It's like this every weekend.". They had no idea what the capacity of the pool was and didn't care at all about the unsafe situation. The fact that nobody drowned in the pool is nothing short of a miracle. I have stayed at many Hilton properties and this one is an embarrassment to the brand. I will never stay there again. The whole experience left me so irritated that I might never stay at a Hilton hotel again.

BEDBUGS! I arrived extremely tired at 2:50am. They couldn’t check me in as their system was updating and popping error codes. First room, Room 110 had a giant ant on the bed, and the table had oil stains. Second room, Room 207 room key didn’t work. Had to walk all the way back to the front desk for the second time. Then when they finally made the room key work and I put everything in the room I noticed that the top sheet was never changed, and had stains and hair on it. The bed sheet was never changed and had stains and crumbs on it. I flipped the mattress covers up and found bedbugs living on the corner of one mattress. There was feces in the bed sheets too. Person at the front desk denied and lied to me about the giant ant feeding on the bed and oil stains on the table in Room 110. I would not be surprised if he removed the evidence of the bedbugs in Room 207 just like he did to Room 110. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he intentionally didn’t program my room keys correctly and intentionally gave me a room with bed bugs. This is absurd for a Homewood Suites. Thanks to this Hilton has now lost my business. Attached are pictures of everything I mentioned.

I found my stay at this Homewood quite disappointing. Upon checking they notified us that they only clean the rooms every 4 day or when a guest request this. While I somewhat understood this policy during Covid I was under the impression the Hilton group had final gone back to pre-covid protocols and were cleaning rooms everyday unless asked not to, No Hilton property I have stayed at this year (probably most of last year too) has had this policy. However, we let it go and checked in. This issue would prove to be a much bigger problem later in our stay. At breakfast every morning the potato option tasted like old soggy French fries. I would guess this was because the property was not (or was barely) running the AC in the hotel itself. It was very hot and muggy the entire week we were there and I could see the kitchen had their doors open to try to keep it cooler in there. The hotel had a clean every 4 days policy, but they didn't have enough items in the room to last for days. This left us chasing down the cleaning staff or going to the front desk everyday multiple times per day. We ran out of toilet paper, paper towels, dish washer detergent, soap, towels, just about everything in both rooms every day. It was extremely annoying to say the least. Finally on our third night we requested our room be cleaned the next morning (one day earlier than 4 days). The night staff assured us we were on the list, and it would be taken care of. The next morning, we meet the cleaning staff in the hallway, and they asked us which rooms we were in we told them and figured they were going to clean the rooms. We came back 4 1/2 hours later to find the rooms weren't clean. I called the front desk to ask what was going on. The women at the front desk acted as if I was bothering her by calling and informed me, the staff had until 4 pm to clean the rooms. It was 2 p.m. at the time. At 3 pm I went downstairs and asked to speak to the manager. I was left standing in the lobby for 17 minutes, I could hear the manager chatting away in the room behind the front desk. When she finally came out, I explained the situation to which she told me "we only clean rooms every 4 days". I explained to her again that we had requested a room cleaning the night before, she told me there was nothing on the schedule for our rooms to be cleaned. She must have had the cleaning schedule memorized because she was able to do this without going to look at the schedule and I had not told the staff member that got her what I wanted to talk to her about, very impressive. She offered no solutions and again seemed like I was wasting her time by talking to her. Finally, I asked her if they could send someone up to the rooms now to clean them, she told me that the cleaning staff was leaving for the day and she didn't know if they would want to stay to clean our rooms. She managed to find the women in charge of house cleaning, and they got someone to clean our rooms that night while we were out. The day we were checking out the cleaning staff asked us no less than 6 times if they could come in and clean the rooms yet. We had to keep telling them we were packing and moving as fast as we could. At one point one of the cleaning staff tried to come into our second room (they were adjoining while we were still packing and in the first room. We had to ask her to leave and give us a few more minutes to finish up. We checked out at 10:30 in the morning. We love the Hilton brand and I have been a diamond member for a long time (8-9 years). Over the years I've had a few minor issues with stays, but the staff and management has always bent over backwards to fix the issue and at the end of the day that's the best outcome one can expect. Some of the staff and the manager at this property were simply not up to the Hilton brand standards. I have never been treated so poorly at a Hilton property by the staff or management. At the end of the day, it was simply...

Homewood Suites in Southington, CT is our number one choice of accomodation everytime we are in the area. We have stayed at other Hilton establishments but none can compare to this for outstanding customer service, professionalism, their above and beyond attitude, cleanliness and maintenance of accommodations.

Granted they do not have an on-site restaurant but they more than compensate by having a well rounded free breakfast with a great variety of hot, cold and healthy choices to satisfy the majority of clients.

Mon. -Thu. there is a complimentary Manager's reception offering a light dinner with a glass of wine, beer, coffee or tea (we have enjoyed this opportunity in the past.)

Another advantage at Homewood is the kitchen area in each room. Not only do they provide full size fridge freezer, two burners, toaster oven, microwave, pots/pans, dishes, utensils, sink AND a dishwasher! A small table and chairs are provided for your enjoyment. The kitchen area has a wooden floor which is kept immaculately clean.

The living area provides a nice area to relax with a comfy armchair and a queen size fold out sofa. There is an extra large leather ottoman with a serving tray, a bureau (extra storage) where a large flat screen tv is secured to (for safety) and a DVD player.

The beds and pillows are comfy for a great nights sleep. IF you are traveling with children (for greater than one night) then we highly recommend reserving a bedroom suite. The few extra dollars you'll spend is well worth it. Everyone will have their own space and gives the adults an area to truly relax.

The indoor pool may be small but it is important to note that it is well maintained and we have enjoyed it each and everything time we have visited Homewood Suite...especially nice for families when it's too cold to go outside.

Kudos go out to Rob who went above and beyond providing extra suitcase stands. He also was a wealth of information on local restaurants, those that deliver and even returned to our suite providing us with some menus!

Another important mention goes to Morena Cahtarevic the Operations Manager who contacted us on our most recent visit to clarify that accommodations met our expectations. Morena presents as a professional staff member who is dedicated to not only meeting but excelling in the area of customer satisfaction. She is certainly a strong asset to the Hilton Chain of establishments.

A big Thank You to Rob, Morena and the entire staff at Homewood Suites. Keep up the excellent service. Be seeing...
