Whatever you do, do not stay here! The front desk/manager will steal your time, energy and money! Stayed here for a week. I am a younger redheaded girl. I Was immediately hit on and followed to the elevator by an elder skinny African American from the desk insisting I take water from him and let him help me with my bags( after I insisted several times my FIANCE would help me). Rooms are dirty. I attached pics of the filter from the ac that didn’t work at all. And the bathroom light was out. The mattress had a giant burn hole and a flat sheet instead of a fitted. People are loud. My keycard didn’t work for any of the side or back doors of the building. Got locked out of my room every single day I stayed and had to wait an hour for maintenance to come open my door because the desk employee couldent figure it out at 6 in the morning. The maintenance guy then forced himself into my room (after conveniently using a card to unlock my room in 2 seconds) and tried to say it was to use the phone to call the front desk. The phone was broken in both rooms I stayed in!!! I had to ask him 3 times to leave. They gave a comp breakfast that was 35 dollars. We asked for takeout boxes to bring up and the lady brought us plates to carry up to our room. It was cold, stale and mediocre. Also, the menu was not accurate for what they gave us. The blueberry had lettuce on it and a bite taken out of it. Stayed here the last week of may and they had the heat blasting and wouldn’t turn it off. I got a few things from their snack/drink section charged to the room. The total was 77.99. I didn’t mind. What I did mind was, David a younger taller African American desk clerk insisted I had to pay 58 dollars to check back in for the goods I had charged to the room the next day. This was before I had the knowledge that it was 77.99. I paid the 58 to check back in, with an older shorter lady helped him. I then got the bill, which listed 77.99. Later on, my 20 dollar incidental was updated to 77.99. I asked David what the 58 was for and he admitted I was accidentally charged twice for the charged goods. He apologized, said he would speak to the manager and gave me the manager Omar’s card with his personal phone number. I called it and it went right to the front desk to David. I asked him why he didn’t give me Omar’s personal number. He had no clue how to reach him and was irritated with me for their mess up. After this phone call, David came up to my room at 3AM and angrily banged on the door several times with keys. I left the morning after this. Since then I have called several times and left several messages for Omar to please refund the 58 dollars and also to refund the parking fees that were charged for each night. I do not drive or own a car/license. There is video of my fiancé and me walking down the street every single day to target. We never had a car. It has been almost 2 months and still not a word back. I disputed these charges and I am still waiting to hear back from...
Read moreWe recently stayed at this hotel on Tuesday, April 30, 2025, and while the room was exceptionally clean, modern, and perfectly located—making it the best accommodation of our Connecticut trip—our check-in experience was deeply disappointing and upsetting.
At around 8 PM during check-in, the front desk staff member named Jenny was extremely rude and unfriendly. There was barely any dialogue between us; we greeted her politely and stated that we wanted to check in. Her attitude and body language were unnecessarily cold and off-putting from the very beginning.
During the payment process, my friend attempted to insert her Apple Card, which is made of metal rather than plastic. While trying to find the correct swipe direction, Jenny abruptly grabbed the card from her hand without asking for permission and swiped it herself in a noticeably aggressive and impatient manner. As someone who also works in the hospitality industry, I can confidently say this is unacceptable. A guest’s property should never be taken without consent, and assistance should always be offered politely and respectfully.
After handing us our room key, she went completely silent. We looked at the card to find our room number and realized we would be on the third floor, so we began looking around for the elevator ourselves. Only then did she point out the direction to the elevator—without saying a word. This was far from what one would expect as a proper and welcoming hotel check-in experience.
We couldn't help but wonder whether her behavior stemmed from prejudice due to our race, which is an extremely troubling possibility. Even if that wasn’t the case, her conduct was unquestionably inappropriate and unprofessional. I truly hope her attitude was not due to the fact that we are foreigners, because if it was, that would be a serious and deeply upsetting issue. However, if her behavior simply reflects her own personal character, then that too is a significant problem.
A hotel of this standard, with such a beautiful and well-kept facility, deserves front desk staff who match that quality in attitude and service. Guests should feel welcomed, not mistreated. This encounter unfortunately overshadowed what could have been a...
Read moreThis is one location we booked our wedding block through the weekend of 9/6-9/8. The stay itself was wonderful and all our of guests had nothing but good things to say about it. Tamika and Omar at the front desk were amazing, very helpful with any questions, and super nice. They even helped me store my wedding cake in the walk in freezer.Christina at the bar was very attentive, fun, and made great drinks! The rooms were all clean and decent sized, and the handicap room my parents stayed in was spacious and fully equipped with safety bars in the bathroom. My bridal party and I got ready in the business library the morning of my wedding which the staff had set up the night prior for us. It was very small and we ended up asking them to remove a table to make more space. My husband and I did our first look in their back courtyard which had a beautiful fountain--the pictures are very nice.
Our experience with the booking of the block was unfortunately the biggest hurdle of my entire wedding planning process. We started communicating with them approximately one year in advance and when it came time to finalize everything, we were never sent the contract. We tried to reach out to them multiple times via phone and email with no response. We finally got a different contact from a friend who also used them for their wedding and they told us they could no longer have us use the hotel for our wedding weekend. We were escalated to management and forwarded all the emails of us making the deal and time stamps of our missed calls and were eventually honored the block, however, the large meeting room and shuttle could not be honored because they allowed another bride to book it even though it was available at the time of original contact. That is why I had to settle for the smaller business library where we had to cram my large wedding party and all the make up artists and hair stylists in--a total of 24 people. I did end up having to drive there to view the room myself since they did not send me pictures of the room when I...
