Yesterday was my second time going to this restaurant. The first time was really good which is why I chose to go back. This time, very disappointing. It was Sunday at 4:30 p.m. definitely not the busiest day of the week and certainly earlier than the dinner rush hour, yet we had to wait over an hour to be seated (there were only two of us). When we were seated it was right next to a table where a couple had twins under the age of two who were screaming the entire time. I have children myself and I get how they behave sometimes, but this was supposed to be a romantic dinner and well that kind of ruined the vibe. I ordered a 12 oz bone-in ribeye and ordered it rare. I told the waitress could you please ask the chef to leave it as rare as is legally possible and she said yes absolutely. What I got was a 9 oz boneless filet (not the 12 oz bone in ribeye) and it was cooked medium if not a bit more. I brought it to the attention of the waitress who at first told me I was mistaken and that it was a ribeye. I asked her to bring over a menu so I could point out what I ordered and at that point she acknowledged I didn't get the right meat and said if I wanted she would have the kitchen remake my dish, but then emphasize they had a group of 10 just be seated and it would be sometime before I could get my order brought back out. My date was already eating and since it took over 40 minutes to get the food from the time we ordered I did not want to wait nor did I want my date to have to let his food sit and get cold. Once our food was served, which was not correct, the waitress did a poor job in checking in. She came by one time the entire time we were seated and although we had intended on ordering dessert, it took her so long to return to the table after we were finished with our meal that we were just disgusted and wanted to leave. An hour to get a table 20 minutes for our order to be taken. 45 minutes for the food to come out and then it was incorrect. Then it took at least 50 minutes before the waitress came back to ask if we wanted any dessert.
I was quite disappointed.
The children next to us were screaming throughout the entire meal and the parents handled it by screaming back. Again, I'm a mother and absolutely understand that kids act this way sometimes. It would have been nice if the parents could have taken the children outside to calm them down rather than having everyone around them have to listen to these children screaming at the top of their lungs which went on for quite some time and then hear the parents screaming back as if that's effective.
I use the restroom while waiting for my food and it was really unclean. The two toilet seats had urine on them and there was no toilet paper in either bathroom stall. I washed my hands only to learn that the paper towel dispenser was completely empty.
Overall I was really disappointed. I didn't get the food I ordered and the food I did receive wasn't even cooked properly. Meaning if they're going to give me a filet and not the ribeye I ordered, at least cook it properly - extra rare and medium well are not even close.
The waitress never brought out bread which I know is common practice there. Not only did I get it the last time I went but I saw it being brought out to several other tables. I'm not someone who wants to make a fuss so I didn't ask for my food to be remade nor ask for the manager.
I had expected after I got the wrong meat and meat cooked incorrectly that the waitress would have been very attentive to us but she basically disappeared.
Not sure if I'll ever go back but if I do and I have an experience like this again it will be...
Read moreI took my daughter to Longhorn for her birthday. The waitress brought us bread appetizers plates. I took a plate to place my bread on and my hand got stuck on the entire bottom of the plate was covered in food. I don't mean one little spot had a piece of food on it. I meant the entire bottom of the plate was covered in the most disgusting food ever. It completely grossed me out. When my daughter looked at her play it was covered in dirty dishwasher water. I immediately called the manager over and I asked him to pick up the plate. He picked it up and looked at it and he was totally disgusted by it too. He offered us an appetizer on the house and said he would talk to the dishwasher. The waitress came back and I told her she had placed filthy dishes on our table and that I was completely grossed out by it. She said she had heard they were dirty and she was sorry. We ordered an appetizer and then ordered our dinner. I ordered my steak. Well done and it came back pink so I had to call the waitress back over. Let her know my steak was not cooked the way I ordered it then had to wait for the steak to come back. The waitress never came back to see if my daughter or I would like anymore beverages. We sat there throughout our dinner with empty glasses. When she walk by we asked her for boxes to go. And I asked her if she would bring me another little bit of soda. She said oh when I came by with the boxes I asked if you needed anything. Yeah but the point was she never asked while we were eating our dinner. If she could give us a refill. She gave me a soda to go. Then she brought over the bill. The appetizer that was supposed to be complementary was on the bill and had not been taken off. Now I had to find the waitress again, ask her to take the appetizer off the bill for which she did. I have been going to Outback Steakhouse for at least 25 years down the street and in all the years I've been going to Outback I have never had the problem I had in this one night at Longhorn! The service at Longhorn was terrible. The waitress was not very attentive. And even the manager himself after seeing the most disgusting dinner plates placed on our table never even came back to ask us how our dinner was because if he had I would have given him the opportunity to hear about the fact that our waitress never came back to check on us and never offered us any refills on our beverages, nor was the appetizer taken off the bill or my steak cooked correctly. Had he done that I probably wouldn't be writing this review right now. I was very disappointed in Longhorn Steakhouse. And the fact that we got treated this way on my daughter's birthday made it even more disappointing for my daughter. It was not a fun evening. And they certainly don't go out of their way. From now on I'll stick to dining at...
Read moreDisappointed by our last visit. Tried a lunchtime visit. Was told that there were four discounted lunch options to choose. Grabbed two small steak dinners and discussed the sides beforehand with our waitress. No mention was made of there being just a single side. So, we were charged an additional fee for a side salad and a side of mushrooms. Only after the check arrived were we informed that the meal didn't come with the usual two sides, but one instead. I felt that the steak was as pricey as dinner and should have come with two sides. So, I will be bringing my own salad fixings and shrimp next time and whatever else I like and creating my own options. Not sure why the waitress didn't mention that the meal came with a single side. Maybe we'll just stay home and cook meal ourselves. At least we know what we're getting or not getting. By the way, the food was fine, nothing extraordinary, but fine. The restaurant looks nice enough, too. But when a customer asks about sides and the waitress fails to explain things, us old folks are in peril.
Once again, disappointed. Decreased my three star rating to two. Came for dinner. This time, was ordering veggies and asked about asparagus. Waiter only told me it was extra after I asked, otherwise, had I been oblivious, I'd have been charged extra. I also didn't get why we weren't seated more quickly since we arrived late and there was plenty of seating. Guessing they didn't want to have to clean a table that had already been cleaned for the night? Anyway, ordered a small Renegade steak and wished I hadn't bothered. I requested medium well, but it was bone dry. I mean I worked to cut though it and absolutely no juice appeared. Having cooked thousands of steaks myself in the past for numerous wedding parties, and never ever getting a single complaint or ever having one of them produce no juice, I struggled to down it and should have requested another one. Not sure why they struck out again. The bread was great and hot. The salad was okay though I brought additional sauteed carrots, celery, onions, peppers, and mushrooms for my salad and dinner, and some keto bread as well with butter as I realize how much butter we typically get and it isn't enough. I guess I'll bring my own steak next time too and just eat outside. It'll save me the tip. Man, I used to love this place! ...
