Title: Disappointing Experience at Orleans
I'm extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Orleans in Las Vegas. The hotel failed to meet my expectations in several areas.
Firstly, the room lacked basic amenities like a microwave and fridge, which made it difficult to store and consume leftovers. We had to constantly refill ice in a cooler to prevent our food from spoiling.
Secondly, the entire hotel reeked of smoke and marijuana, which was unpleasant and uncomfortable.
Thirdly, the noise level was unbearable, with loud talking and slamming doors until 4:00 a.m.
To make matters worse, our room was not cleaned properly by housekeeping. Despite leaving the dirty laundry outside our door and ensuring the "Do Not Disturb" sign was not on, the room was still filthy when we returned. We had to call housekeeping again and wait in the hallway for them to finish cleaning.
Furthermore, the hotel's amenities were lacking. The pool was closed for the winter, and the arcade and play area were not available. The restaurants on site were overpriced and did not offer refills on soda.
Overall, my experience at Orleans was disappointing and frustrating. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would suggest opting for a more affordable and amenity-rich option like a Marriott or Western Inn.
A text I sent to family: make this a Google review: 1. No microwaves or fridge... All of our leftovers? We have to eat them pretty quickly. The food that we brought so that we didn't have to buy every single thing? We are constantly having to refill ice in a cooler so that it doesn't go bad.. Everything smells like smoke/ marijuana. I think just because it's Vegas everybody's awake all night long so you can hear talking and slamming doors all the way up to 4:00 a.m. In the morning Alice wet the bed last night So I left all of the dirty laundry outside of our door and noticed that housekeeping was coming down the hall, I made sure the do not disturb was NOT on the door.. We went to lunch and expected to come back to a clean room... It was filthy... They did not even do anything at all, they didn't even vacuum the chips that were on the floor and they didn't replace the bedding... I ended up having to call housekeeping And asking them to please come up and clean our room.... But we had been to the park so we just wanted to come back to the room and relax... They kicked us out of our room so that we could have it cleaned and now we're sitting in the hallway waiting for them to finish when the job should have been done 3 hours ago.... At very least I just told them to bring some sheets and bedding.. I didn't need everything scrubbed or vacuumed... But bedding... To sleep? Yeah I need bedding. Not to mention that they did not even get rid of the garbage overflowing... The biggest thing that sets apart a Vegas hotel from a regular hotel is that there's always activities to do. Supposedly. Like they have an arcade upstairs and they have a play place for children and they have restaurants on the main floor etc.. while all of the restaurants are pricey, none of them allow refills on the soda.. And the food is mediocre at best. All the extracurricular activities that they advertise... Closed... This hotel does not even have a freaking pool. That's a. It is 78° outside and they are "closed for the winter"... So all these extracurricular activities are for nothing.. And they are so pricey. You might as well just go outside of the hotel to go to another playground or arcade or movie theater etc. When the pools are actually open and not being winterized, they close in by 6:00 p.m. To try to coax everybody to go gamble... Moral of the story if you are ever going to come to Vegas, just skip the "nice" hotels and opt for Marriot or...
Read moreThe rooms aren't super-huge but they'll get the job done. The beds are comfortable, being neither really firm nor soft. Just right, for me anyway. It had a shower but NO TUB, which isn't a dealbreaker but just try to get that information from them and they'll shrug their shoulders as if they've never seen their own rooms. I wanted a tub and thought I would get one but no such luck. The TV isn't huge, but it gets the job done. The shower is old but serviceable, with a head on a flexible hose. It's walk-in and includes a seat should you need it, which was a nice touch. And the water is HOT! And instantly hot, which was nice. The furniture was fine, and clearly set up for one person as there's only one chair suitable for use should you order room service, so be prepared to sit on the bed if you're with someone and order room service. Bring your own soap; they only have the little soaps, but they had travel size shampoo and conditioner, as well as lotion. Plenty of towels, but they do suffer from the same problem as all hotel towels: they're bleached to death and never get softener so they tend to be a little stiff and scratchy, but show me a hotel where that doesn't happen and I'll show you an expensive hotel.
Where this hotel shines is the spa. I put my elderly mother in their hands to pamper her and she was just tickled pink at how well they treated her and how great she felt after a massage and a skin treatment. They have a hot tub and steam room and guests who get a treatment there can return later in the day if they choose. I wasn't there myself so all I can report is what my mom said, which was all positive. Gratuity is automatically added to the price, which I'm not really okay with but I also get it; people can be cheap and petty and adding the tip just saves everyone the hassle, including the customer who might not always know exactly how much to tip.
The gaming staff was friendly and the cocktail servers were attentive and consistent. The craps dealers were very helpful and had a great sense of humor with my mom who was gambling for the first time in her life.
They have a food court that includes a Subway, Fuddruckers, Baskin Robbins, and Sbarro. They have several restaurants but the one we ate at most was the Copper Whisk, which is a casual mid-price dining experience that includes breakfast favorites like pancakes, waffles, eggs Benedict, and a lunch menu which we didn't try. The eggs Benedict were great! The sauce was creamy and citric as it should be, and the breakfast potatoes are a highlight. Get those instead of hash browns. They won't disappoint. Overall, the Copper Whisk is a great, one size fits most kind of place where almost everyone can find something on the menu that satisfies, the kind of reliable place that everyone can depend on.
It has a theater which we didn't visit but it was a nice option.
The location isn't particularly easy to get to but once you do get there the valet service is typical of Las Vegas: relatively quick and helpful. They even let us put our bags in the car after check out and got us another ticket so we could go back and have breakfast before leaving. The hotel is fairly close to the airport so if you're staying at the hotel and won't be going around to other places you can get a shuttle or whatever and save yourself the cost of a rental car. Speaking of which, they had a rental car agency on site (Enterprise) which I've not seen at ANY hotel ever before. I didn't use them but knowing that they're there I just might next time.
Overall, while the rooms may not have anything to really separate themselves from other hotels the hotel itself does have a LOT of nice touches that might be just...
Read moreMy trip was ruined because of this hotel! I will never book with at this company in the future!
Chris that works front desk doesn’t deserve to have a job/role there and is a straight up liar / cold-hearted person! Also their so called “Front Desk Supervisor ” she has smart mouth especially with her little side comments! Luckily I couldn’t get her name.
Friends and I had a reservation with this hotel and were excited to come visit here since it’s our first time out here in Las Vegas. We’re all coming down from Florida. We’ve been looking up to this trip for the longest.
My girl and I were originally supposed to check-in Thursday but we came Tuesday. Unfortunately we had to fly down here couple days more earlier due to Hurricane Milton! My friends are from Tampa and their airport got shut down last minute.
I’m 20. My girl is turning 21 in 3 days! My other friends are all over 21!
So as soon as we got here we were already eager to see what this city got for us! I’m telling you we were happy we arrived here!
As soon as we got to the hotel we explained everything that was going on. Remember my girl literally turns 21 in 3 days! They did not let us check-in because she’s not 21 right now is what they said! Although it was originally gonna be our friends that were gonna check-us in! So okay cool, right? I asked if we can get a refund, chris then responded, “I don’t deal with anything that has to do with money and there’s no manager/supervisor till tomorrow morning @9am you’ll have to speak to them.”
So we were looking for hotels/airbnbs for an hour and 2 .. it’s already 11pm! lt was devastating because we already paid over $800 for this wanna-be boujee hotel! My girl and I figured it out on how to get the refund so clicked the refund/cancellation button on our phones since Chris didn’t want to help us out but instead we had to figure it out on our own!
Luckily we found a airbnb but it was far from the downtown area.. we were looking forward to waking up everyday with downtown vibe.. 😕
We wake up next morning and called the hotel to speak to the supervisors. They charged us over $200 last night! Chris put a no-show on us! and one of the supervisors said we can get a refund while the other smart-mouth supervisor said “You can’t get a refund that you should’ve known in the first place you’re not 21.” Do they not understand there’s a whole category 5 hurricane going on in my city? This place was literally gonna have us stranded last night and didn’t get the help I needed but instead taking my money and being a bunch of scums.
Well this is how my first day is going so far out...
