My family and I were in the mood for some steak and was searching around the city for a restaurant that we haven't tried yet and stumbled across this one. We enjoy coming to The Orleans once in a while because this property has sentimental value to our family. We ended up making a reservation online and was enthusiastic about the time we were able to reserve at such last-minute.
When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the hostess. We ended up having to wait about 2 minutes before being escorted to our table because we arrived way early than our reservation time. Regardless, I was appreciative that we were able to get seated earlier, rather than later. The service here was remarkable; from the moment we walked in, to our main server.
With respect to our entrées, we ordered the Lump Crab Cake, Beef Rossini Imperial, Steak Frites, and Bone-In Ribeye Steak. Everything that we ordered was great except for the Ribeye. I don't know if my taste buds/palate was inoperable for me that night, but the steak quality wasn't there for me. I'm not certain if this restaurant utilizes premium cuts, but it had the texture of "Choice" meats, vice Prime cuts. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't awful by any means - I still finished my entire meal...but it just lacked the quality cuts I'm used to at other steakhouses in the Las Vegas-Summerlin-Henderson areas.
The prices at this restaurant is very reasonable. I'm sure there will be some that complain about it, but if you actually visit other steakhouses in the valley, believe me, you'll appreciate the prices here. Overall, this restaurant is good; from the décor, the price-to-quantity/quality value, and the service, it is worth visiting. I'm interesting in visiting again because there were a few items on the menu I would like to try. I recommend this restaurant...
Read moreHad an incredible dinner at Alder & Birch, from the delightful cocktails to the scrumptious appetizers and entrees. I kicked things off with a signature cocktail recommended by our waiter—the Filthy Negroni, a gin concoction adorned with luscious filthy cherries. The complimentary bread tray was a pleasant surprise, featuring delicious sourdough, chocolate walnut bread, lavosh, and butter. Opting for a family-style experience, my party of five sampled a variety of appetizers: poke nachos, Caesar salad in a crispy Parmesan cheese bowl, crab cakes, Wagyu meatballs, and tempura rock shrimp—all of which were outstanding, with the poke nachos standing out as my personal favorite.
For my main course, I indulged in the Beef Rossini Imperial, which was flawlessly prepared, alongside some Boursin mashed potatoes for sharing. My friends enjoyed a range of dishes including salmon, short ribs, filet mignon, lobster, scalloped blue cheese potatoes (absolutely divine), and truffle mac and cheese. Despite being too full for dessert, I couldn't resist rounding off the meal with a perfectly mixed dirty martini.
I wholeheartedly recommend Alder & Birch. Our visit was spurred by plans to attend a late-night magic show at The Orleans, and after reading glowing reviews, we decided to dine here instead of exploring elsewhere. This spot is definitely...
Read moreI would first like to say that Alder & Birch is a beautiful quaint little restaurant. It has the feel of a rather large steakhouse but in reality is quite small. Our server Justin was awesome, very professional and knowledgeable. The drinks and food were for the most part delicious. I ordered the Lobster Tails and for the $65 market price was a tad disappointed because the first one I ate seemed a bit tough and didn't have the flavor I was expecting. I ate some more of the sides (the bleu cheese scalloped potatoes and parmesan asparagus - both of which were delicious), drank some wine and then thought, okay I'll try the second tail. Oh my gosh, it was so much better. The lobster was soft, cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. It must have been just something with the other lobster or perhaps was in a minute or two too long. Either way, the rest of the food was delicious, my husband loved his steak and the Banana Rum Cake was incredible! Although it was pricey (about $250 with tip for 2 of us) it was definitely worth the visit and we...
