We recently stayed at this hotel and we were harassed most of the night by the staff and general manager.
First of all it is NOT a 4 star hotel. The rooms were clean but there was zero water pressure in the showers, there was one ice machine and there was dirt and mold in the ice. There was water/ice on the floor of the elevator which we reported to the front desk and it was never cleaned up - just a caution sign placed over the top of it.
There's tape holding down the lip of the floor as you get off of the elevator on floor 3 and if you take a left off the elevator on the 3rd floor you will find a stack of chairs that the hotel has pushed into a corner that they are trying to sell to the public and some broken down machine with a container of dark liquid gunk attached to it.
But let's talk about the harassment. When we checked in we had two high-end road bikes with us. We were told we could not take them to the room as they might make marks on the wall or cause dirt on the floor. Apparently they are not concerned about damages luggage carts might do on a daily basis. They offered a random room for us to put them in and we politely declined.
We went to our room, stored our bikes two inches away from the wall with wheels up. We left to eat dinner nearby and the front desk said nothing to us as we left. We returned and got ready for bed early as we were going to be cycling a 100 miles the next day from the nearby Trek store and would be checking out at 4 a.m.
Around 9 p.m. there was a knock at our door and the general manager and front desk clerk was there. He told us we had two options - we either put the bicycles in a random room or we leave. We asked if the hotel would be responsible and take liability for our bikes should anything happen to them. The answer was "no."
We said we would not be leaving our bikes in a random room in the hotel. We showed the GM how our bikes were stored and that they were not touching the walls and the wheels were not on the floor but he did not care. He was worried about the possibility of dirt or grease (our chains are waxed) on the floor.
We explained that the bicycles were not being taken in and out of the room. They were parked away from the wall and would stay there until we checked out at 4 a.m. and if by some crazy chance there was any damage to walls or floor we would pay for them and still he said no.
At that point we stated that he might need to be more worried about the condition of the property's ice machine and told him that it has mold and dirt in the cubes. We had reported it to the front desk earlier who actually went and checked and agreed that yes there was mold and dirt in the ice.
The GM became offended told us to leave. We asked to see the "policy" about no bicycles in the room. He said "I don't have to show you anything." I said we would be calling corporate and closed the door.
I called corporate and explained everything. They said that different properties can have different policies but that the GM should be able to provide a copy of the policy. Corporate said they would call the front desk and talk to the GM and put me on hold.
Corporate came back on the phone with me and asked if we had offered to pay for any possible damages from our bicycles being left in the room we said absolutely. Corporate said no problem the bicycles can be left in the room.
Then came random phone calls in the night - phone would ring twice then stop.
Then at 1:30 in the morning there's knocking at our door - the police were there saying we had to leave. We showed them our bikes and how they weren't touching anything, explained we had called corporate who had spoken to GM and agreement had been made where bikes could stay and we would pay for any damages.
We all walked down to the front desk and the police spoke to the GM who could not produce any official policy regarding the bicycles because there was none.
I have video of the entire conversation between the GM and the police but unfortunately I am unable to load it here. Thankfully the police saw this for what it was - ridiculous & bogus.
Mr. Patel and his staff need better training. Never staying at this...
Read moreHeavily used room keys and envelopes. One must have been used 1000 times. It had scratches you could run your nail through & was permanently bent. Room seemed clean. No cot that was advertised. The phone didn't work at first but managed to get the cord to stay in the receiver long enough to make a call. The sheets were slick, but we figured it was detergent or softener. Morning shower barely warm. Towels had same slick feeling on them as well & didn't leave you feeling clean or dry. Morning after the shower just stopped working partway through. Restarted it several times to rinse. Still only warm. Figured it was from many people using the system. That night went to enjoy the hot tub. Not enjoyable. Not warm, let alone hot, jets did not work, & timer dial broken. Tried to shower again. This was around 7pm. Still barely warm then it turned off within 3 minutes of starting it. Went down to the desk to ask for a new room as we needed to shower. Clerk suggested I go upstairs & wait for the maintenance. He called a few minutes later, phone wouldn't connect so called back on my cell. He told me to come back down & get keys to a new room. Once there he questioned me about which room I was in. Our number 220 was written over number 221 from prior use. Told to give up current keys in exchange for new ones. Refused so I could access things in 220. Told me to return keys ASAP. Changed to 218. which had a broken door lock. Cut my finger exiting to return keys. When the elevator stopped the doors didn't open. I waited. I began knocking on the door. I was hollering to see if anyone would respond. Then the elevator dropped about 6in & still doors did not open. I PANICKED. I began screaming, beating, & kicking at the door. Nobody yelled back, nobody knocked, nothing. When the doors did open, I fell out. Front desk clerk & two house staff were there staring at me. I broke down crying & shaking, full-blown panic attack. I kept telling them this was NOT okay, I was NOT okay. "Don't let anyone on that thing!!" Calming I was given water & band-aid when I asked. When ready to head back I went for the stairs. Clerk tried to get me back into the elevator! Suggesting he would ride with me. A strange man, in a strange city, in an elevator I JUST got stuck in. I took the stairs despite his REPEATED insistence. In my room I got into bed. The sheets felt nothing like the sheets in the other room. These felt normal. I saw black mold on the bedside lamp shade. Checked out at 5am. Was told the manager had been notified & we should expect a call later that day. I called several days later & was told to come downstairs to speak with clerk. I explained I was home & was told I'd receive a call from the manager soon. I called again, was told to come downstairs again. & again, explained I was not there. The clerk then told me "I just went up to room 218 & there is someone there." I said, "Great, go bother them but they're not me. Shouldn't you know who's in your hotel?" Was told again I'd get a call. Was told manager's name was Bob, then PC. Was told he was out of the country for an emergency & my issue was not important enough to call. I offered my email if that would be easier for him. Was told he's back in the country & coming in to work & would call. I've been told so many times he'd contact me & nothing has come of it. I have called no less than 10 times. Only speaking with desk clerks. No answer from management. Was offered a single night's refund, which I refused until I spoke to management. I felt I deserved to speak to them & tell them what happened firsthand, especially after weeks of being ignored. Then I called to accept the refund as that was the only response given. I've called back twice to check its status. I've given them a chance to fix this issue. I've practically begged for it. I hurt for a week & a half from my attempts to escape the elevator. I still tried to reason with them. It...
Read moreThe Lyft driver could not find this hotel even though I put the same address in as was on the reservation. We ended up at some gas station at 1am. Luckily he agreed to take us to the correct address. I see someone else.has also mentioned this in their review so I think this needs to be addressed. Although this hotel's address is on a "main road", it is behind a Dutch Bros and Shell gas station. Their is no clear entrance/exit from that main road. You have to either enter through Dutch Bros' or make a U turn on the side depending on which way you're coming from. If you are not careful, you will miss the entrance because it's not obvious. The location itself isn't too bad in terms or stores nearby. I don't think it's the best location either. I didn't feel unsafe or anything, it's just not the greatest.
We get to the hotel after 1am and check in and their vending machine is down so we can't get any drinks. The elevator seemed like it could stop working at any moment. The rooms themselves are nice in terms of aesthetics and seemed clean. Their is no soundproofing anywhere. You'll be sleeping and constantly hear the other doors open and shut. If you are in a 1st floor room you will hear your upstairs "neighbors". There was also a musty smell in the bedroom and bathroom. We were moved to a different room when the AC started to leak water. That room/bathroom also had a musty smell. The sink design is awful because you'll get more water on the back of the sink then you will on your hands. The second room bathroom, the toilet and tub were separate from the sink, but the door was in such an awkward spot way too close to the toilet. There wasn't really any super hot water or super cold for that matter.
We were told that we had to pay an extra $35 as a late checkout fee if we wanted to stay past noon even though we technically checked in a day after we had our reservations (Sat check in Wed check out, but we checked in at 1am on Sun). We paid that. The tissue box ran out before we had to check out so I asked my husband to get another one. He was told "We can't give you another tissue box because we already gave you one. Here are some napkins" I find that weird because what do you think we are going to do...steal it?
Their room service was fine...it was standard.
We only stayed here because it was closer to the airport. I don't think I'd...
