Blu Fin Sushi & Bar — Restaurant in Springdale

Love the atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the food looks beautiful. Plenty of options!

Unfortunately I didn't find the flavor of two out of the three things I tried to my liking. One of things I didn't like was their house salad, the dressing is extremely strong, tastes mostly of soy sauce. It just is not for me. I enjoyed our appetizer, which I think was the shrimp tempura, no concerns at all there. Crispy and tasty. Let myself forget about it because I was excited for the main dish; the Blu Fin Roll. I thought I couldn't go wrong with the roll named after their establishment. But I was definitely disappointed.

The seared tuna had an unpleasant smell, and to my mind, this wasn't what you expect from seared tuna. All other seared tuna I've had is still red in the middle with only the outer ring having been seared and browned by the cooking process. Done by first searing an intact filet, and then slicing it. Instead, it appeared they started with slices and seared those flat, so the meat was largely just cooked with no red left. Either way, I didn't think the tuna was cohesive with the roll, so I picked it off and had effectively a simple type of spicy crab roll left. Pleasant enough.

I will be stopping by again, and I hope to improve this score after trying...

The owner told us to "f%@* off and never come back. Our sushi roll had plastic in it. The entire crab roll was wrapped in it. The owner came over and asked us if we wanted it removed from the bill or a new one made. We asked her to remove it. She came back over with a new one anyway. When we got the bill the roll was still.on it so we asked that it be removed. The owner sent the waiter over to tell us that because she replaced it she wasnt going to remove it. We didnt want to argue anymore so we paid the bill. As we were leaving my husband told the manager "we're disappointed in how you handled this, you've lost alot more than $11 in business." He was upset but not yelling or aggressive. She immediately responded with "I'm busy enough without your business I dont need it." And proceeded to PUSH him toward the door. He said "dont touch me" and she yelled "you can f### off, never come back to my restaurant again!" Blu Fin has been in our regular rotation in Springdale for years but we will now be going elsewhere. I showed up one evening, holding our son in his infant carseat. There was a few couples in front me. It took a bit, the other couples were seated. There were several empty tables but it did appear they were short staffed. After almost 10 minutes I was finally at the front of the line. The staff member was about to seat us when the owner walked up and told her no more tables, they were closing early. The other two members of my party were in a separate vehicle were just arriving. I think it's unprofessional at the least to turn away business in such a rude manner and after allowing us to wait. Had we just been told sooner that we wouldn't be seated we could've sought out something else.
