sad to say but all the reviews I read are for the majority not accurate to my taste or description. I had to give it one star just to rate it. In reality I'd give it no stars. I came here on business. I was put in one room upon entering it I went to lock the door behind me, ( the dead bolt and extra door claps) the door clapse did not even thread the door properly. I told the front desk immediately. The guy proceeded to say that all rooms were booked. I was persistent that the door needed to be fixed. Extreamly sketchy. The guy called someone to ask if the pictures were done in in another room and I could swap. After he hung up I asked him what pictures, he said new brochure photos and that I'll be put in that room. It was approximately 7pm and dark outside. Who takes photos in a room in the dark without good lighting. Also upon entering the room I noticed all the advertising tents were "tossed" in a pile behind the tv and night stand. They were no where , where you would normally expect them to be placed.... as you would think for picture perfect brochure photos. Upon entering the second room the catch lock was in the exact same shape. The hook latch did not match up properly in the door jam. Also this second room dead bolt did not catch in the door jam unless you manually slam the door and force the catch latch on the door to realign the whole door, then the dead bolt would latch. I went back down to the front desk and told the guy this he said that is his last room available. I told him it was honestly no better. He told me to take my pick and he'll try to move me the following night. ( I was supposed to stay 3 nights). I stayed in the second room offered as the first was worst on the catch latch on the door & it was right next to the stairs which are creepy to me lol .
So the second morning I was opening my window curtains and I walked past the bed I slept in and a black speck caught my eye for some reason. I without thinking inspected it and it was a mid life cycle bed bug. Large, & easy to depict. I immediately went down to the front desk and demanded that a manager come up to my room and look at this issue. Upon their inspection he said it looked like a "water bug" & that he'll have someone called in to look at the situation. I had already looked else where and didn't see more visibly. He said well someone must have brought it in with them. ( I don't normally travel for work this is a once a year thing & so I know it didn't come in with me) ! I also showed him the lock on the door and told him look what else I've been dealing with. I demanded he check me out right then and there. Upon google I read that bed bugs can get into the mattress and live in it through the stiching on the edges... sure enough I did a double take and the stiching holes were larger and looked to be stretched out as if used as an entry and exit.
I grabbed my belongs and checked out. The manager offered to give me a "discount" I rejected as if a slight discount would change my opinion. Then proceeded to tell me some guy fixed the 1st rooms locking issues. I told him that didn't help me or my situation. I ended up paying for the full original price. I called comfort suites corporate choice hotels line and they called the guy and confirmed everything. They told me the hotel was willing to give me a 15% discount that since I called corporate that he was willing to give me 50% off my 2 night stay, when I was supposed to stay 3 nights. At the end of talking to corporate and them not really doing anything about the situation, the lady says thank you for accepting our situation.... at this point I was livid and told her I do not accept this and that I was completely disgusted and asked for a full 2 nights stay refund. She told me NO she...
Read moreOur room was decent. It was clean and the pool was nice. We had a terrible experience with the lady on duty stocking the breakfast that came on duty at 7am. We came down about 710 and every single item on the entire breakfast area/bar was empty and several people kept coming back and asking if they were going to put food and juice out. There was not a single item to drink besides coffee. The entire fridges were empty, no meat, no eggs, or anything was available. There was a local track meet and the families were wanting breakfast on their way out to the meet. My daughter asked for a waffle, so my group asked nicely if they could restock the pancake batter and she rudely informed us "it took 20 minutes to make it" and "she would get it when she got finished wiping tables". There were noone sitting at any tables in the entire area. She continued puttering around for 20+ minutes and ignored the batter being restocked. The other parties that were waiting for breakfast eventually got tired of waiting and left. We patiently waited while having coffee until almost 8. I went up to the desk and asked the gentleman if someone could help restock some of the food items if the lady was busy. When I was at the desk, the lady came around the corner with a raised voice and told us very loudly and aggressively that "she told us she would make more". I reminded her that it has been almost 45 minutes and that we couldn't wait almost an hour for food to be restocked because we had to leave for a track meet and most of the other parties went ahead and left because they were tired of waiting. She continued to argue and said "well, I just got here at 7". I notified her it was almost 8 and the time that she got to work didn't have anything to do with the breakfast items getting stocked and she had continued doing everything else besides what we had nicely asked for. She had her hands on her hips and her behavior was absolutely inappropriate in front of my family, the coworkers, and the other guests that she made a scene in front of. I was not going to argue with her in front of my children and the young man at the front desk simply made excuses for her and did not offer any help in any way. We went to our room and checked out about 815. The items never were stocked so my entire group left without breakfast like the others. She continued walking by the desk area staring and giving dirty looks to my group while we turned our cards in. I have never in my 20+ years staying at hotels had an employee at a hotel act that way and think that that behavior would be tolerated. She should have been immediately called down or spoken to by one of the other staff and someone else should have volunteered to simply stock some food to make the situation right. She could have easily and quickly restocked the food, she simply didnt want to and was being spiteful. She wasted more time being hateful and pushing us off that if she would have done it in the first place. To give over $230 dollars a night for a room like that and get treated that way, as well as not get any breakfast like they advertise, is...
Read moreI wish there were enough characters allowed so I could share my entire awful experience that I just emailed to Choice Hotels, but unfortunately I'm limited, so here is the grand finale: Thursday, June 14th (today), I again head to the office for the day. We finished up later, so stopped to pick up food then returned to the hotel around 5 or shortly after. I headed up to my room and I immediately noticed the privacy door hanger was missing. Then, my key didn't work. I go back down to the lobby and let the lady at the front desk know. She asked for my room number. When I told her, she said, "Oh... you were checked out today."
I said, "No, I'm supposed to be here through tomorrow."
She said, "You were supposed to check out and are scheduled to spend tonight at the Residence Inn."
I asked her, "This is the first I've heard of this. Why did no one communicate this to me??"
She said, "My manager said he left you a voicemail after he couldn't reach you."
I verified the number they had on file for me, showed her I had one missed call from an unknown number - NO voicemail, and said, "Well, can I at least get back into the room to pack up my things??"
"It's all ready down here."
I suddenly felt very violated - my toiletries had been laid out on the counter and in the shower, my clothes were hanging up, my shoes set out and organized, my bottled water and snacks on the table. I was in utter disbelief.
She wheeled everything out and I requested a private place to organize my things and ensure everything was accounted for. She led me into a meeting room. I unzipped my bag, saw the utter chaos (leaking bottle, cracker crumbs all over my hanging clothes that were balled up with my used undergarments, make up bag spilled everywhere, etc), and it took everything within me not to sob in frustration or run to the front desk and curse at the woman who I knew wasn't to blame. Amazingly, I kept my cool..outwardly at least.
After I spent 15 minutes going through everything, I realized I was missing a hanger and my breakfast food that had been in the fridge, so back to the front desk I went to inquire about it. To my surprise, the woman told me the room had not been cleaned yet and proceeded to give me a new key to go back in the room.
In that moment, I was utterly appalled that they had so ungraciously removed my belongings out of my room that WASN'T EVEN NEEDED THAT EVENING. Why on earth would anyone be treated this way?? I certainly have never had such an awful experience in my entire life and will NEVER stay at another Quality Suites or other Choice Hotel. I believe this is the first negative email or review I've ever given, as I usually try to focus on the positive experiences I have and building others up. This experience really shook me up and, again, made me feel very violated - especially because I didn't feel there was any reasonable explanation for...
