Updated review 6/13/25 I am a big fan of Home2 Suites, but this one disappointed me this trip. My wife and I had a King Suite. My choice because these are roomy and comfortable. Well, it was filthy.
Bad service is a reflection of the quality of management. It rests solely on the managers shoulders.
I sat down at the desk work area, unpacked my computer and began to set it up. There were several long curly hairs on the desk. It had not been wiped down. In the bathroom, the toilet had hair on the seat, on the rim under the seat and on the tank. There were clean towels. I got a washrag and wiped things down. Also, a ring of mold or something at the water line in the toilet. After my experience checking in with the lethargic front desk staff, I figured complaining would be a waste of time. I was unpacked. I really didn’t want to drag everything to another room.
In the bedroom the night stands had a collection of dust. Probably never dusted. The next morning, pulled back the shower door to find more hair. Long hair, short hair, curly hair, lots of hair. This room had not been cleaned at all.
So, what do you think the likelihood was, that the hotel staff changed the bed linen. Yeah, I didn’t think so either. I’m burning my pajamas when I get home.
Next morning there was a manager on duty. I informed him of the problem and that the Springfield Home2 Suites will not be my choice in the future.
I didn’t ask for it, but I see from my credit card statement, that a portion of the charge was credited back to my account. Enough for my wife to buy new pajamas. Thank you.
Previous review. 9/24/24 It was a good experience What has happened?
Home2 Suites have become my favorite lodging. Big rooms with the amenities that make the stay feel “homey.” Full sized refrigerator, dishes, dish washer, microwave and you can get a skillet and hot plate for cooking. Bring your own food and cook, or bring takeout back to the motel to relax.
We had a really nice suite this stay, with the bedroom separate from the living room/kitchen. My wife could go to bed early and I could stay up late and watch my favorite car shows on the Motor Trend channel.
Good breakfast bar available in the morning. Friendly staff. Especially the housekeeping crew. They never failed to greet us coming or going. Clean comfortable rooms and lobby. Our home...
Read moreThis was by far the BEST overall hotel experience we have ever had!!! We were traveling from Phoenix, Arizona to Northeast Indiana (had been driving for almost 18 hours). We arrived early in the morning the day of check in and they let us check in early so we could rest! THIS MEANT THE MOST TO US!!! The staff was the absolute friendliest and made us felt like family in the short time we stayed! The hotel was immaculate. We had a 2 queen bed room with a sleeper sofa and the room was huge! It had a kitchenette complete with a microwave, refrigerator with freezer, dishes, and tons of counter space!
The beds were super comfortable, each bed had like 4 big down-filled pillows. We have 5 in our family so going to hotels and tracking down more towels from housekeeping staff can get kind of annoying...but that was NOT a problem here! The bathroom had 5 or 6 towels, hand towels, and washclothes!
The whole place was clean and smelled wonderful. The pool was warm and there were plenty of towels available poolside. The breakfast offered a variety of options and was great as well! I could probably go on and on about how wonderful our experience here was! The cleanliness was obviously something that we hoped for and appreciated, but the friendliness of the staff was second to none! Every time they saw us they made sure to talk to us and check with how our stay was going! They were outstanding!
The only "issue" (if you can even call it that) was that our T.V. wasn't working when we first got there. We simply called to the front desk and in less than 5 minutes, someone was in our room addressing it. (It just needed reset). Problem solved :)
This was our first time staying at a Home2 Suites and I can definitively say that in our future travels, we will be checking to see if there are any the area we are staying! The service was exceptional: prompt, professional, and friendly. It just doesn't get any better than that!!! STAY HERE, if you are traveling through or in Springfield, you won't be...
Read moreI am loving my stay here so much that I decided to write a review now, on my last night here, so I don’t forget. I stayed here 4 nights, so I got to interact with multiple shifts of employees and see about everything this hotel has to offer.
First of all, these rooms are wonderful! This has got to be one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. There are a million outlets (I’m here with two computers and multiple charging cords), great lighting, comfortable beds, big refrigerator with freezer with plenty of room for my ice cream, desk, couch... nothing was forgotten in planning these rooms.
Next, the staff is superb. Literally everyone was friendly, from the very young-looking man who was running the front desk one day (sweet as can be, polite, charming) to multiple young people working the desk at various times, to the lovely older woman who looked to be in charge of the kitchen to the people servicing the rooms... I mean, EVERYONE was just as nice as could be. One day I’d gone on my daily Sonic run and came back with my hands kind of full, and one of the people behind the desk asked if I needed any help or if I’d like them to punch the elevator buttons for me. Think Chick-fil-a levels of professionalism and courtesy, people. Yes. It’s that good.
The hotel itself is bright and clean. The gym facility is awesome!! I only ventured in once, but it would have been perfect if I hadn’t been too lazy to work out. Big and bright and with lots of equipment.
Fast internet, and I only used the free option. (Running two computers and a phone.)
I just couldn’t be happier with this hotel. I’ve always preferred Hilton properties when staying in hotels, and this Home 2 Suites in Springfield reminded me of why.
Don’t hesitate to book your stay here. I’m a picky, detail-oriented person, and I have not one negative word I could say about it. Thanks so much to the staff for making my...
