Blackbeards Treasure Campground — Hotel in Surf City

I like this place a lot , the view was amazing. Lots of boats , seado's , kayaking, paddle boarding , not a lot of commercial fishing boats . Backed right up to the water, there were even people fishing right behind there campers . The camping area of camp grou d is small and the campers are in there a bit tight , but my hubby and I still had a lot of fun , you'll hear and see a lot helicopters 🚁 , but it was during the day very quiet and peaceful at night . If you're into being followed around by little, old, staring women in their golf cart, this is the place for you. Upon arrival you'll immediately be greeted with said rubber necking followed by a bad additudes and poor communication. They are the police, and they will come out of nowhere to inform you if you have infringed upon Curmudgeonous Old Fs law. Booking is easy, but after that don't expect anyone to answer the phones as no one is in the office during the day and there is no voice-mail. As for being a "campground" there are about 8 usable lots. The rest are rigged up, permanent campers and trailers. Also, contrary to what it says online, it is not dog friendly. The spots are too small. There’s no where to park. We couldn’t even put out our canopy. It took my husband over an hour to get into our site (138) because there’s not enough room along the road. He could only pull forward a foot or so at a time. When the overall parking was full they told us we’d have to find somewhere to park. Thankfully someone left and we could park the truck there. My SUV is right on the lot line and we put the side mirror down. It is parked about 12 inches from our camper. The waterfront is beautiful and it’s close to good fishing but it’s too tight...
