Surf City IGA — Local services in Surf City

Look... This IGA is old. It's clearly seen some things, it's got some scars, it isn't the prettiest... but it's always there for you and reliable when you forgot something on your trip out to the island. This place has who know how many beach goers running through it with sandy flip-flops on a given day but still stands strong and is clean.

The staff is always nice. The prices are reasonable. Most items are very close in price to the big guys on the mainland. I wouldn't say to go here for a whole weeks of shopping, but if you need a handful of things and want to get back to the fun, then this is your spot. You'll waste half your vacation in line at the Walmart and the parking at the Publix is a nightmare just to get into an out of stock crowded mess.

There isn't going to be 37 different options for peanut butter here, but it's going to have everything you need to keep your vacation going strong. These last few years of trips down I've seen a solid increase in options they carry too... You can tell they are constantly...

Ok, ok, 5 stars by default since it's the only real grocery store on the island but all the other reviews capture my thoughts exactly. All the basics, good prices (no need to go off the island), fresh basic produce and most importantly.....stocked full of the most popular beers: basic, crafted, some specialty items like cider, spiked tea and spiked waters. I live on the island, congestion is to be expected during summer months, now it's year round! Good for the economy, you can't have everything all the time...just adjust, this store by is very organized, clean and offers most every basic thing you could want/need. The young cashiers are respectful and doing their best to get their jobs done! If you go over either bridge south or north to the big stores their will be even more traffic and shoppers.
