I think the owners are an older couple. Jim and Janet I believe are their names. When I came in, Janet did not greet me even though she was the closest to the door, she ignored me even when we made eye contact. Jim was very kind and asked if I needed anything. Janet wasn’t wearing a mask when I came in but she disappeared and came back with a mask soon after (I’m Asian and was not wearing a mask and I was the only customer in the store). You can make the connections yourself. When Jim checked me out, he asked if I wanted a bag and she stood close and says sternly to Jim “Jim, we don’t do wraps for those” but that’s not even what he asked me. She misheard. She just didn’t want whatever I bought wrapped even though, that wasn’t what we were talking about. They have a nice selection of items. I just didn’t feel welcomed and I NEVER write reviews on places unless it’s bad. I drove past and Janet has since took her mask off with other people still in the store. I wouldn’t come back. Go to the Norman’s Hallmark next door. The older ladies there are super sweet and at least...
Read moreI really should have looked at the reviews for this place before I went. This seems to be an ongoing issue for quite a few years now. Both times I've been here recently, the young girls working there are just so impolite. Barely say a word to you. Then if you're walking around too long they ask if they can help you like they're annoyed by your presence. I've never felt so unwelcome in a small business. There were three of them just sitting there gossiping the whole time, then when I guess they felt like I was browsing too long in one spot, one of them said disgustedly "can I HELP you?" What they didn't realize was that, from my angle, I could see them in a mirror and see how they were whispering and making faces before asking. I reluctantly made a purchase and left, but the terrible customer service really tarnished the excitement I had for the piece of jewelry I had been wanting to buy for a few months. It's...
Read moreI went to this location because I know they carry Vera Bradley and Alex & Ani items, and I was looking to buy gifts. When I walked in, the sales associate did not acknowledge me but he was assisting a customer, so I didn’t think anything of it. But as I walked through the entire store looking for items, not ONE (of the 4 or 5 employees) said anything to me, not even “hello”. I even stood at the Alex and Ani case waiting for two employees to finish their personal conversation. But when they finished talking, one walked away from the area, and the other just kept unwrapping bracelets (and didn’t say anything) as I looked at her. I loved the Capital City Mall location and was excited to go to an Embellas that’s in an area that I frequent. But after this experience, I’ll pass on...
