Nice place to relax for a drink and pizza. Service is terrific. Great staff. But this place is about their pizza. So had to try two! And where we are with two different opinions. First up was the sausage, mushroom, onion had excellent fresh toppings. 5 stars for the toppers. As for the pie though. Felt it could have been a little more well done as the middle was a bit floppy. But it still held together well. A bit more sauce and tad more cheese would have been great, as the cheese was 'thin' and the sauce not at all in the flavor profile. But then, it may have been too floppy. So maybe you don't mess with years of experience as this is a tavern style pie done their way. Second up to be curious, ordered a cheese. Okay. Same review. So A+ for consistency. The same exact pie that is light on cheese and sauce, with a bit of flop in the middle. Was intesting since thought it would crisp up a bit more being just cheese. But then, impressed at the consistency. Overall. Sure. I'd return. It's an okay pizza that's light on its feet and super thin. A great lunch pie actually. I would go with a few toppings and request a little extra sauce, a little extra cheese, and just a tad longer on the cook time to bring the crisp to the middle but carful not to burn the edges too much. Maybe that is the winner for me, or maybe it doesn't work and they already perfected this style for those who love this style as is. And as far as the other opinion. The donkey thinks I am being a bit harsh. The ol' donkey loved the pizza and was overjoyed I did not put the fish on it. He felt is was just a nice little pie as is and thinks it should get an extra star. But I'm sticking with a 3 star.

Colony Grill has a special place in our hearts. We stopped by Colony Grill when looking at restaurants to have a welcome dinner after our wedding rehearsal. We wanted upscale casual and amazing food. We had lunch here to test it out and were sold. The pizza is “bar” style and it’s fantastic. Thin, crispy, fresh, and flavorful. The owner happened to be there and was very willing to work with us. It was the perfect venue for all our friends and family to gather. The staff was attentive to everyone and kept the pizzas (and drinks) rolling. They made it a very special evening for us and we will always remember their hospitality. We ended up going back the next night by after our wedding. They stayed open late for us and we had a blast. We will be stopping by every time we’re in the area! Couldn’t recommend them enough. Also, make sure you try the hot oil and salad pizzas. They both melted my Italian heart! Thanks for the memories.

I was very hesitant to try the pizza here because the pictures on the website aren't that great and im very particular about pizza. My cousin was in from CT and she wanted us to stop in and check it out so we did. We were only planning to get a drink but when we walked in you could smell the aroma of pizza in the air and we decided to try it. So glad we did!! The crust is thin and flavorful with a lovely crunch. The sauce is light and you get to pick whatever toppings you like. My sister ordered the gluten free crust and that was just as good if not better than the regular crust. They also have vegan cheese but we didn't try that. The customer service is above and beyond which was also refreshing. Everyone was so nice and helpful. This will be my new place for pizza!! The stingers are a nice hot surprise, but be prepared...

Very odd. CT native - born, raised, and educated. And, a New Haven apizza devotee. Modern Apizza pizza is not only my favorite pizza, it's my favorite food period. I've heard how good this pizza is supposed to be. For me, this pie is not in the same universe as the New Haven big three. I had pizza from a local place that was similar style that had more flavor. This pie had an oily flavor that, while not bad, didn't improve the flavor. I enjoyed my pie but there was nothing that set it apart from most others of the style, other than the oil taste. My wife had a meatball pizza and I don't know how any pizza restaurant could serve a pie with so few meatballs on it. She got a (tiny) meatball one out of every four bites, maybe five. Bizarre. The menu... They only serve pizza. No appetizers. No salads. They have a salad pizza that sounded very strange. But it's a pizza with salady vegetables on it. The craft beer menu has all usual items plus a smattering of local brews. But none of the styles that this serious craft brew lover had any interest in. We were there for an event that would have kept us there for a few hours but we ate and left. The pizza was good but no reason to go out of our way. And there is no other reason whatsoever to go there. We may return if we are in the area, and we want pizza...

We received a flyer in the mail and wanted to try something different. We have a small dog and wanted to take her, so I called and the girl who answered said "SURE, SEE YA SOON" We got there and there was not one person anywhere inside or outside the restaurant. We were about to leave when a guy came out and said we could sit anywhere outside. Menu is so basic. Not much to choose from. Our server who was not polished in hospitality. Asked if we wanted something to drink. I didn't even see a drink menu. I wanted something refreshing and felt like sangria. "I can Make that." Red or White. I said whatever you make BEST. He brought out a 4 oz. Mini wine glass 1/2 ice. Cherry & Orange wedge. Red, bitter Sangria. About 2oz. Of liquid for $8.00 WOW!! 2 pizza's one plain and one pepperoni. No flavor on the plain, even adding grated cheese, no flavor! The pepperoni tasted like pepperoni. 12" personal pizza so thin it was hard to eat because it was floppy and if you folded it. All the oil dripped all over. Won't be back . The atmosphere was nice. Service and food...
