I try not to leave too many negative reviews. However, this place has a bunch of things wrong with it... I'll try to keep it short. :( Firstly, building is not to code. For door gap, and for other safety reasons. Beware of stepping into the room!! Huge 2 inch gap at the door entrance you can hurt yourself, nearly twisted my ankle... NOT handicap/ senior friendly. Door key card pad is weak and needs to be in direct contact with key card, hard to open door.
EVERY OUTLET IN MY ROOM WAS LOOSE AND MOST NOT WORKING!! This is a potentially dangerous electrical hazard. Not to mention frustrating. I wanted to charge my phone and tried every outlet until I found one in the wall next to my bed that had electricity, still loose...
Any "remodeling/upgrades" they did is for all the wrong things that could wait. Like new sinks and mirrors when they needed new paint and plumbing... Needs new shower faucet handles. Very loose. Bathtub has no handle bar to help you out of the tub, couldn't get out without slipping, and with a rounded edge it couldn't catch water from shower, so water on the floor. Water restriction makes showering and filling up the tub very slow. Tub stopper was broken, too. Walls need repairs, paint is falling off at bathroom door frame.
Breakfast isn't anything more than pastries in a bag. Just a bunch of carbs. Next to no additional sugar/creams for coffee. I don't think they have an elevator. Just old wooden stairs. Thankfully I'm on the first floor. Tiny pool, no hot tub. They do have laundry room and ice machine. I haven't fully investigated it to give details on it.
Floors in rooms are filthy. Even after I used a damp towel to clean it myself...no point being barefoot after a shower if you're going to get dirty again. So wear socks. I extended my stay for a single day, not a weekend mind you, front desk did not use my Choice Hotel reservation to extend it, but instead charged me extra money by booking a new room from their computer. She did not inform me what the new charges where going to be when doing this. I found out by going to my bank app to see the price and since I checked into my room, she couldn't refund me anything or cancel this booking so I can do it online for better price....
Only good thing is the bed and pillows. Comfortable, but still thing sheets and blankets. ( In my room anyway.) Double encased mattress, so no bugs! Hooray. LOL If you're only here for a place to sleep and maybe shower, then yeah, it's ok. Luxury is SO not their...
Read moreI love this hotel so much. I've stayed at, close to, every hotel throughout Temecula and Murrieta at different times over the last several years and for the Roadway being the cheapest option, it definitely is not bad at all. SOME of the rooms, SOME, are way worse than others, I will say that. So if one is really bad then don't think they are ALL like that. Some rooms have obviously just been beaten up more by GUESTS (which isn't the fault of the hotel). They give the lowest rates in town, you can't expect everything to be repaired or fixed up after a guest damages something. They do keep and maintain the areas that are necessary for everyone to be comfortable at least. i.e. making sure you have a working fridge, microwave, water, air conditioning, tv, etc. (shower nozzles need work though I've noticed).
Other than that, the one thing that I appreciate and enjoy about this hotel is the STAFF. They are ALL such nice people and I've never had any issues with any of them. The nice younger woman that works most day shifts is absolutely amazing. I can't even explain how many times she has gone above and beyond to help me out! The tall man that works days is also good, & the younger man that works graveyard with the glasses is super nice too - they ALL really make me feel valued and cared for as a guest.
I have had to stay here for weeks at a time to where it's a common practice for me to come to the office to renew my room key after getting more nights - and so, whenever that routine ends because I am preparing to travel out of town or just plan on checking out for whatever reason and neglect to get another day, they both (the male over the phone and female literally physically coming to my door) on the morning of check out take the time to CONFIRM with me that I will be checking out because they noticed I didn't renew my stay and just wanted to check in to make sure I was actually planning to check out and hadn't simply forgotten to get another night. They actually make me feel welcome & I can't express just how kind and hospitable the people that run this hotel are.
For the price, I couldn't ask for ANYTHING MORE. But they still...
Read moreMOST DISGUSTING AND TERRIBLE HOTEL IVE EVER BEEN TO. IF I COULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS, I WOULD. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST. TRUST ME, JUST BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE. Me and husband booked this hotel for one night because we had attended a wedding. We checked-in very late around 10:30pm after the wedding. When we arrive to the lobby, there’s a stinky foul smell. I cannot explain what smell it was but it was gross and i was rushing to get out of the lobby. The moment we entered our room, already felt disgusted. The room smells like smoke, when I specifically booked a non-smoking room. The top sheet beddings had stains. The sink and faucet is so gross. I couldn’t even use it to brush my teeth, I had to use our bottled water that we bought from convenience store. That’s how stinkin’ dirty it is. The bath tub/ shower is so disgusting!! The shower curtain is so dirty and old. They couldn’t buy shower curtain from dollar tree to replace it. The shower handle is broken and it takes forever to wait for the water to get warm. The power outlet where the microwave is plugged in isn’t working, so we have to it to the bed side table to plug it there. I get that this hotel is probably old but that isn’t an excuse not to clean properly. Im not really the type of person who complains a lot. But boy, this hotel needs a really good deep cleaning. No just the rooms, as well as the lobby. We booked this hotel last minute as we decided to stay over night to avoid 2 hours drive going back home. This is the only hotel that was available near the wedding so we booked this last minute. We were so tired and exhausted to look for another hotel. We just got some sleep and check out early the next morning. Again, AVOID THIS HOTEL AND BOOK...
