If you're asked to sign a paper stating no refunds, no exchanges, no guarantees-LEAVE. I had two wonderful experiences in the past so I went back tonight. I bought two Bunkie boards which had been previously recommended by a Mark's Mattress employee to keep our mattress from breaking down prematurely stating our mattresses should be placed on a surface with the slats about 2 inches apart or use a Bunkie board (described by employee as a solid platform to go under a mattress for a bunk bed). As I was purchasing I was given a paper to sign stating it was a Liquidation sale no returns. She told me straight out its not a liquidation sale, we just won't let you return it. AFTER I had already paid she gave me another paper to sign stating no refunds, no exchanges, no guarantees and that I had inspected the items-which I had not yet except visually through the plastic from the desk. Since the Bunkie boards had previously been described by another employee from the store and it appeared through the plastic to be what they described it seemed legit. I signed it. When I picked up the Bunkie boards to start loading them I found that they were just cross boards a foot or more apart with a board down the middle with a covering which made it appear solid. I was quite unhappy. I could have bought a sheet of plywood so much cheaper and it would have been solid. The sales associate knew I was very unhappy and despite the product still sitting unwrapped in their store, didn't offer to let me return it. I understand no returns once it leaves the store but if you know a customer is that unhappy and the product is still sitting wrapped and unmoved in your store there is no harm in refunding the money-unless its a take the money and run deal.
Apparently things have changed in the last few years since I last purchased from Mark's Mattress but at least I don't have to worry about signing any shady paperwork from now on because if this is the way customers are treated now at your store I'm done. Its such a shame considering how happy I was with your store at the beginning. I never expected this...
Read moreTo start with my wife and I(newly weds) had been to at least 4 places. Each place we couldn’t find a single bed we liked, and most of them got irritated with us with in a few minutes since it was our first time we’ve had to get a bed, and had no idea what would work with both of our ways of sleep (I’m a back sleeper mostly and my wife a side sleeper) not knowing that how we slept had anything to do with our comfort, and not one asked us anything about that. But as soon as we walked thru the door of marks mattress within a few minutes Robin(the manager) asked us about how we slept and gave us so many details of how a bed would impact how we slept based on our sleep position. She gave us options that completely fit our budget. Especially with us doing financing. She had a great personality and was completely patient with us and informed us in every aspect. We ended up going with a beauty rest black edition that sleeps like a dream for my wife and I both! This place I highly recommend to go to, if you are looking for the best...
Read moreMitchell was amazing to work with at Marks Mattress in Terre Haute. As soon as we walked in he was ready to help my father who has health issues. He didn’t sound like the typical sales guy just trying to make money off someone. That one thing that stood out to me, is that he cared very much. He was extremely patient and diligent. His goal was for my father to have the right bed to lay on. We have not received that mattress yet (should be here this week) but there was TONS of different options at the store. It was reassuring that we’re a lot of options. It also was not overwhelming. This is because Mitchell started my dad out with three different beds to find what my dad like the most. Then went from there. Like I said DILIGENT. Mitchell explains how each bed is different and what the benefits are. If you need someone who cares and doesn’t feel like car salesman - go to Mitchell....
