It was awful. I have tons of pictures if I can upload them to you .... ||1. I did the online check in but I was late , I said id be there at 4pm and arrived at 5pm only to find the desk clerk/owner had no idea who I was or what reservation or room I was wanting and after 30 minutes of him asking me my name and reservation number over and over he told me I needed to call Expedia since I used them for the reservation because they haven't sent him any info/payment. This i felt was more his end to do because I did everything I was supposed to... If they didn't pay him then he needed to call them but I didn't argue and I called Expedia who was so helpful, even helped calm my nerves down because I was getting a little upset by this time but she called him per days inn request and it was settled within 5 min ... It is now 6:45pm. But ok great, can I get the room key pls ... No now I have to wait a bit longer because he needs to find housekeeping BECAUSE THE ROOM STILL NEEDS CLEANED! At 7:30pm I was finally given the key but upon entering the room, it was still needing a lot more attention. ||2. Room was filthy, litterly dust / cobweb hanging down from the ceiling in places. Bed still needed blankets and whatnot, the TVs didn't work and they couldn't find their remotes. The carpet was so worn and dirty it was almost slippery. The mini fridge was gross and the little freezer was so built up with ice you couldn't slide a piece of cheese in it if you wanted to. The massaging chairs are also in desperate need of a good cleaning, I had to put 3 throws I brought on each chair to be able to sit on them, but the remotes are full of gunk all in between the buttons that you had to mash them down hard to get it to press for you. Most of the ceiling lights which were cute, or would have been were burnt out, and when the room was finally clean , to the owners standards anyway, I had to call them back because I discovered none of the faucets , neither of the 2 bathrooms nor the kitchen, had hot water. Just wondering how they were using the water from the room to clean when there was no hot water and they had to notice there was no hot water so why did it take for me to call up front again to have them check out the water situation in the room!? They fixed it within 30 min so I'll give them that... ||3 it seems it is also a residential hotel, that was not mentioned online where it talkes about what the hotel is about and what amenities you get, but all 3 nights we were there several of the upstairs rooms had people in them arguing, cursing and slamming doors all night. ||I did not get any more housekeeping services offered to me after the first night when they cleaned the room so no fresh towels , linens , vacuuming, nothing. Not even a knock on the door to see if we needed anything. I suggest if this is the norm for them to please put a sweeper and maybe a broom in the room with so e disinfectant wipes for the guest to be able to at least do some tidying up. The breakfast they offer is a joke. Bread on a tray that you can toast in their very dirty toaster if you'd like but only one side works so you will have to pop it up half way thru and turn it around if you want both sides toasted. And then jam and little tiny frozen butter packs are offered to put on your toast if you'd like. Then is fruity loops cereal and Raisin bran cereal but the bowls they give you for that are more for what you might use to put a piece of fruit or maybe a dipping sauce for something else , like if you were eating fries or wings you could put your bbq sauce in this bowl, very small and very shallow and then the milk is in a pitcher that is solid black so you can not see what's in it or how much but they put a post it note on it that says .. "Mylk" I kid you not. But the 2 times I went to breakfast there was no milk but maybe a couple drops in the pitcher. Then the waffle station is nice , it's a good waffle maker but same thing with the batter and syrup. You will stand their a min of 15 min trying to get enough batter out of the dispenser to make 1 waffle and it takes 2 minutes and 45 sec for 1 waffle to cook and if you start pouring the syrup into a cup or something the whole time your waffle cooks you still will not have enough syrup for your waffle ... Coffee was in 2 pitchers as well, I'm assuming both reg as no note on them so decaf I don't believe is offered and again they are not on a hot plate or anything, just in these solid black pitchers and the cups they offer are a little better than a dixi cup and between both pitchers not enough coffee for me to make both me and my friend a cup of coffee, and no more was brought out to my knowledge so there is what you can expect for the free breakfast they offer. Also breakfast is from 6am to 9 am. The first morning it was open at 6 but when I returned to check on the coffee situation at 7:55am it was already shut down and everything was gone. I did not go the following morning but the 3rd morning I did to see if maybe that was just a bad morning or something and it would be better so I got there right at 6 so that everything would be hot and pitchers would be full but it was not open and still at 7:40am no one showed up to open breakfast or anything, even the lights were still off. I peeked in at 8:50am and the MYLK pitcher was out and wrapped little pieces of a plain coffee cake was in a basket. I did not have any. There is a gazebo which online shows also a BBQ grill for their quests to use but I could not find out if I needed to supply charcoal for it or if they had that for you or maybe it was propain being ready when you wanted to use it , so on our second night I asked the front desk. .. seems there are only 2 men who work there because it was always only 1 of them at the desk or something both , the one said he was the owner , the other man is who cleaned our room night 1 and later he checked me out, but either way they informed me that they need to take that off the website because they do not have a BBQ grill anymore , and haven't for a couple years.....!!! My room is shown on line to have a sauna .... No. But they didn't mention the massage chairs so that was a surprise. The whole purpose of deciding to stay at the days inn was because we wanted a suite with a hot tub and they offer 6 different themed suits all including your own private jetted tub. The keys on the tub besides being disgusting and I cleaned before we used it, did not work. Not 1 jet worked. So basically it's a tub in the middle of the room. The outside is just as bad, the garbage area has 2 dumpsters that are litterly overflowed and then all over the ground. This is not a busy week and the garbage men only come 1 time a week sort of thing ... There are green shamrock decorations on the ground and in some bags inside the dumpster.... So this is a " oh we didn't pay the bill so we don't get trash pickup" sort of thing. The building itself inside and out is dirty, paint peeling off , fake plants with dust thicker than the vase their in, no community room with TV and tables for guests to mingle , unless they are calling the lobby where they serve breakfast to be where we mingle at but I never seen anyone sit at any of those tables ever the entire time I was there. And I saved this purposely for the last ... They have a little house outside that says ice/vending machines but the ice machine has no cover at all do you see the whole inside where the motor and belts are so the ice isn't all that clean when you get it and THERE ARE NO VENDING MACHINES. Not a candy machine, no chips or snacks , and NOTHING TO DRINK.... NOT 1 SODA MACHINE. NO COFFEE, NOT 1 VENDING MACHINE ON THE WHOLE PROPERTY. So when you get thirsty you have to go to a gas station or restaurant to get one to bring back to your hotel. And as I mentioned the 1 man checked me out which was me handing him the room key. .. but it has been 8 days now since I checked out and I still have not received the $100 that was charged to my card for any incidents... Idk why he actually charged my card and not just put a hold on it but I was assured it would be refunded when I checked out and 8 days later still not a penny refunded.. ||Never again. A complete waist of money. Not the relaxing 3 days that I really needed and was looking forward to, and I'm sick to my stomach that I paid over $300 for this, not including the $100 for incidents!!! And I have photos of everything to back up my statements but I don't see how to upload them onto here. If you want to see let me know. hon069@yahoo.com ||I'll be happy to share ||Worst time ever...
Read moreOverall a horrible experience. Paid over $200.00 for one night in a themed suite with a Jacuzzi tub. My girlfriend literally went out and bought bleach in order to clean the tub so it could be used. State of the room was a disaster. Holes in the walls where plaster was not replaced. Bare chicken wire can be seen!! My keys fell into the couch, after moving to retrieve there were multiple used tissues, food containers and just dirt underneath. Obviously housekeeping had not moved the couch in some time. Dirt and grime in the bathroom, as well as exposed water pipe. Countertops separating from the walls with no repairs and plaster dust everywhere. The furniture in the room was equally beat up. Cigarette burns everywhere, end tables and dresser beat to hell. Even the white towels to be used were stained. After my girlfriend cleaned the tub we gave it some time to ensure there would be hot water. About 30 mins into filling the tub (which was only half full) we ran out of hot water. How are you going to run out of hot water for a Jacuzzi suite? That's the main attraction of the room itself and honestly the only reason we went to this hotel. We only were finally to enjoy a nice hot soak an hour before check out. Right before checkout my girlfriend did an amazing job of cleaning the room in order to get our 100.00 deposit back. The room honestly looked cleaner then when we arrived. At the time of checkout I had my list of complaints to provide about the room but the owner of the property only wanted to accuse me of having a dog in the room and tried to keep the deposit. Yes we had a dog with us but she was dropped off prior to our final stay. I asked to see security footage that would make me out to be liar but was told there was none. Even though there was a camera positioned right outside my room. To be fair there was dog hair on the carpet but that was from my girlfriend dumping out some laundry to be washed since they have laundry facilities on site. Not once did it ever seem that I was not lying to him about the situation. Finally we were given our deposit back after some very tense back and forth. The owner would still not hear a word about my complaints. I took many pictures and am currently waiting to hear back from the corporate office. When you pay 200.00 for a one night hotel stay you expect some quality. There was none to be had at this location. Save yourself the headache and find a nicer place to stay. There are multiple hotels in the same area. The absolute kicker here is I wanted to propose to my girlfriend on this very night after a wonderful evening. After all the issues I honestly could not bring myself to ask. I didn't want the memory of a horrible hotel stay to ruin what should have been a joyous occasion. Wow makes me sick to my stomach even writing this all...
Read moreFor short term stays I would recommend ( a night or 2) you to stay here. It's a great location with lots to do around. For longer stays, I recommend ANYWHERE else but here. I stayed for just over 3 months in one of their "renovated" rooms in the middle of the hotel. The backside of the place has drugs constantly being sold throughout the place, cops there every weekend and almost always had someone high walking around causing a scene. So back to it, I was (without notice) around Fair week (July 1) was told that I was being pushed to the backside of the hotel. I had been in the same room for over 3 months. I had housekeeping offer to come in ONCE during my entire stay there. I cleaned my own room, vacuumed, washed my own bedding and took out my own trash on top of paying $540 per week to stay. I worked 10+ hours a day for 6 out of 7 days a week. The reason given as to why I had to move was to "wash the carpets" which coincidentally right before the 4th of July and just ahead of Fair week. After filing a complaint with corporate, I was told I suddenly had to leave as per manager because I "violated" rules and regulations. Only after I called corporate did this happen. I was never told what I violated nor did I ever sign any paper that shows hotel rules and policies so that I would have a better idea as to which I violated. While there I have heard complaints of bugs despite not having any in my room, property etiquette was maintained fairly well, I had a total of 2 issues with being charged double for a single week in the 3+ months I stayed. Only a couple at the front desk are pleasant to work with. The manager is a nightmare to deal with and has virtually NO people skills and is a self absorbed pos. My experience with him was less than pleasant. If you're looking for better treatment for alot less cost and nicer room longterm wise, I recommend Rodeway Inn. The newly remodeled rooms are 2x the size with new appliances installed. The price was 35% cheaper than the DAYS INN and the experience was alot more pleasing to a consumer that spends a long time on the road travelling for work for months at a time. I keep to myself and keep the peace. Never was the law called for a complaint of noise or drugs on account of myself while being at the Days INN. Personally, when I come back to Terre Haute, I'll stay down the road at the Rodeway inn if you want a hassle...
