My first and last time ever visiting this location. I came because my friend was celebrating her birthday there. I arrived first and my friend told me they should have a table for them so just ask. Well when I came in, I literally waited in the front for almost 10 minutes before anybody even came to see if I needed anything. I told the girl that we had a reservation, she responded that they don’t take reservations but they do hold tables or something similar to that. So I asked “is that not the same thing” she told me no. So I asked if there was a table for my friend and she told me no there was not and then went behind herself and said well let me check. She then said it was not a table at all for them and that they wouldn’t have a table available, even though my friend called an hour earlier to hold a table. Well I asked to speak to the manager. I explained to the manager the situation and she was very RUDE. My friends finally walked in and the manager told them that a family of 30 just walked in and they basically gave my friends table away. Well next to the manager there were two of her servers who were speaking for her. I was confused because we asked to speak to a manager and not them. We specifically told the manager we needed a table for 15 and when her servers asked how many , the manager kept responding “well they think they have 15 people.” She was trying to be funny basically. So she asked if we wanted two booths that were back to back that only fit 13 people. Now what sense did that make when we specifically said we had 15 people. My friend went ahead and told them it was okay. While I was speaking to my friend about the situation, the manager kept jumping in my conversation saying smart remarks “what did you say?” Or I’m sorry I didn’t hear you. But the thing was , was I was not talking to her. When they finally sat us down, they gave us two different waiters and we received our drinks. We literally sat there for another 30 minutes and no one never came to take our actual order. I excused myself from the table and left. I felt as if the manager was very unprofessional, the service was slow, and for this to be a little bit of an upscale restaurant it was terrible. I was so surprised to see the 4.4 google review because they deserve less than that. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS FACILITY. They definitely need new management and...
Read moreHeads up, we will not be going back to Long Horn Steak House in Terre Haute. I tried to call at 5 for seating for 6, and they told me they only do call ahead seating if there is already a wait, and suggested that I call or come in 30 minutes before we want to eat. So I arrive 30 minutes before the rest of my party, and a few things happened that left a bad taste in my mouth. 1- I am fairly positive that they judged me on my appearance from the get go. It's something that I'm used to and I typically ignore, but they we're rude and dismissive straight from when I said hello. 2- I asked for seating for 6, and was told that there would be a wait time of an hour and a half. I said that I had called ahead an hour before, and that I was told that they couldn't put me on a list. Okay. Except I called an hour and a half before I wanted to eat. They asked who I talked to, but I didn't catch their name. They ask my name in case they put it down. It's not there. 3- at this point, to be honest I'm getting pissed. Instead of being told politely and being treated with respect, i was approached with condescension and accusations. One employee told me (his words) that it "wasn't fair to the other people who thought to call ahead." And that if there isn't a list to put me on then I can't "cut ahead of everyone else" like that.
So I understand that I choose to shave half of my head, and that I choose to have piercings, and that I choose to have brightly colored hair, but I am a good person and my...
Read moreVisited for a local high school reunion. After a terrible experience at a different venue, we decided to come here for some real food. There were 7 of us in our party and the first two of us (which included me) arrived at 9 PM, two hours before closing. Longhorn immediately pushed two tables together and were patient as we waited for the rest of out party to arrive. After waiting 30 minutes with no updates from the other 5, my wife and I said forget it, we're gonna get started. So we had them separate the tables, apologized profusely and warned that the other 5 may be arriving at some point. The hosts, the manager and the waitress were all great about it. They were willing to put the tables together, add more chairs or whatever to accommodate our party when they arrived. After sitting down and ordering, the rest of the party arrived and got seated at our table, which comfortable sat 7. The food arrived quickly and was amazing. The waitress was awesome and was joking with us all night. We stayed until closing, when we decided to leave so that the restaurant staff could get out of there. We were never hurried or asked to wrap up; the whole experience was great even though Longhorn was probably inconvenienced (which we tried to mitigate as much...
