Positives: Location ideal near many shopping options. Staff was friendly/helpful. This is where it ends. Negatives: Entry, elevator, hallways and room are deplorable, in addition to the washing machines/dryers. Entry/Reception is old and not inviting as depicted in the website photos. Elevator is cramped/hard to navigate the luggage rack in/out of the elevator, in addition to being very noisy and smelly. Hallway is dark, old looking and the odor was terrible even with a Mask on. Couldn't tell if it was cigarettes/marijuana or lack of cleaning the carpets or all the above.
Laundry room at first glance looks good, but the machines are gross inside, as when I washed clothes and took them out to dry, there were massive hairballs attached to my baby's clothing. Does housekeeping think to open the washers/dryers to see if they are clean and/or run the self-cleaning cycles?
Guest Room had a kitchenette from the 80's in very deplorable shape. Cabinets were yellowing with shelves cracked, chipped and missing chunks of pieces. The bathroom was horrible, with the tub coating peeling and very discolored. The shower had the weakest pressure I have ever experienced. Bed was uncomfortable, slanting in every direction you moved. Closet space was tiny for an extended stay and the carpet was so filthy, that when you walked with socks, the bottoms turned black. We had our 8-month-old baby with us and took every measure to ensure she did not touch the floor with any part of her body and to top it all off, there were Roaches coming in the room from the Hallway and I was lucky enough to catch them. We had to cover the baby's playpen with a blanket on the top to ensure no roaches crawled on her during the night. This is not a place for children, let alone adults
There is no common space for guests to leverage outside of their rooms. The grab and go breakfast is a joke and you are better off going to a 7-Eleven or Dunkin Donuts for food, as there was nothing that would classify as breakfast from even the basic of expectations. How do you classify Nature's Valley bars (Very hard and dry) as breakfast? Sure, you could say the muffins and packets of instant oatmeal would qualify, but there was not even milk to use for it if you wanted or any other additives. I have stayed in Red Roof Inn's that were more modernized and super clean in comparison to this hotel, so clearly the Executives for the Extended Stay brand have a lot of work to do, if they wish to change the image for this location and any others with similar feedback.
Our original plan was to stay from February, through March, while waiting to close on our new home. But plans changed due to death in the family and had to travel to another state for the services and checked out early. As bad as this sounds, this unfortunate family situation spared us from having to endure the deplorable conditions of this hotel any further. Upon returning to NY we found a much better option at a Residence Inn for $50 more a night, with a full breakfast included with choices of eggs, cheeses, yogurts, fruits, drinks choices and variety everyday. Additionally there is a heated pool, gym, outdoor heated patio area and many common space options. Very child friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone who needs long term accommodations. For the price difference you will not be disappointed.
Extended Stay Management, you need to take all this feedback seriously and make intentional efforts to change the image of your hotels. The standard response of "Sorry your experience was not as expected and we have provided feedback to housekeeping" is not working given the history of similar ratings over the past year. The time TO TAKE ACTION is now, so listen to your customers and DO...
Read moreThere isn't enough room to write everything horrible about this hotel. Note that I've spoken with 6 levels of management and have subsequently filed complaints with Consumer Affairs, BBB, Attorney General. ||||No Covid-19 protocols; I had to complain to NYS to get them to adhere to guidelines. ||||Housekeeping every 2 weeks and even then they don't show up. ||||You have to bring your old towels to the front desk to get new ones. For over 3 weeks I did my own laundry because they had a towel shortage. ||||Drug dealers in the parking lot at night. There was a drug dealer STAYING IN THE ROOM NEXT TO ME!!! They must have a great business to actually stay in the hotel. Marijuana wafting through the hallways. Drug addicts banging on my door thinking they had the drug dealers room. ||||Homeless people sleep in the hallways. One Saturday night a woman and her 3 small children were sleeping in the hallway. So horrible and sad. No security cameras at the hotel - only at the front desk taping the employees so they don't get hurt!!||||Abusive husbands banging on doors looking for their wives that left them.||||False fire alarms; I experienced 42 fire alarms during my 60 day stay. Local fire chief indicated they answered 83 false fire alarm calls in first 9 months of 2020. Told me it is a horrible hotel and they frequently have to answer calls for overdoses. Police had the same story. Fire Marshall came 3 times during my stay. They have no plans to fix their alarm system.||||They gave me supplies for the kitchen; one pot's non-stick coating was peeling so bad it could not be used. I had to wash everything that was given to me because it was all stained and crusted with leftover food!||||Curtains smelled like smoke.||||Rugs never cleaned and are badly stained. The tub was never cleaned the entire time I was there. I bought my own cleaning supplies because housekeeping did nothing but make the bed. They claimed they changed the linen but I tested it several times by staining a small area of the linens only to find the same linens when they claimed linens were changed. Not once, several times!||||This is by far the worst hotel I have ever been to and I have stayed at a lot of hotels. You are better off looking for a local AIR BNB or a reputable hotel. This hotel chain makes a lot of claims of customer service, etc. online but they don't follow through. They are a mess. 98% of the people staying at the hotel are government subsidized according to the MANAGER, the local fire department and the police. The Manager even went so far as to say the hotel is "rough." Rough indeed. Run as...
Read moreThis is an okay hotel. The front desk staff were all very nice & courteous. Due to the so so reviews we decided to stop by the hotel first & check it out. Elvire at the front desk was excellent. She was very helpful, answered all of our questions & put us at ease. The lobby is very small but nice & updated. They market a free breakfast but it is more like a snack stop. The station is set up in the small lobby for a limited time during the morning and offers coffee, tea, hot chocolate, oatmeal, oranges, nature valley bars & some small muffins. Not much of a breakfast if you ask me since most hotels offer this all day in their lobbies. There are only 2 chairs in the lobby & during breakfast time they are always taken. Upon entering the room I thought it was decent. Nothing special, nothing terrible. While the room was clean it still felt somewhat dirty because it was just a little dingy. They dont have any pots, pans, silverware etc. for the kitchen you have to ask at the front desk & they only give you one at a time & the pots/pans are pretty small. The kitchen area was very outdated & dingy. The bathroom was ok but nothing to boast about. The bed was comfortable. The closet was extremely small &the only other space to put your clothes was in a dresser that was 1 foot off the ground. There was a desk & a table & a nightstand. There was a very comfortable & nice recliner chair in the room as well. There is no maid service unless you stay a week. They also did not offer any shower gels, shampoos, shower caps, etc. in the bathroom & there was not dish washing liquid or rags for the kitchen. The stairwell hallway always smells like onion rings & depending what floor you are on & whose there the halls can smell like weed. They told us they did security checks on every floor every hour but I did not see anyone do that our whole stay. They also said the police check in every hour but I as well did not see that. Most of the guests seemed to be living there as opposed to staying. There were some suspicious characters outside smoking or lingering around the hall ways that made me uneasy being a woman with a child. Most of the quests seemed to be construction workers or contractors. During the day it is pretty dead because they are all at work but at night is when the creepies come out. I had an okay experience for the price & would probably visit again if the price was right but you have to be very aware of your...
