Stay away. Terrible food, horrible service.
I had high hopes for this Indian restaurant, but the experience was extremely disappointing. From the very start, the service was lacking to say the least. Despite the restaurant being empty, they gave us 3 menus for seven people, we had to get up to grab two of our own menus after waiting too long for someone to bring them over. That wouldn’t be a big deal if the terrible service didn’t continue. When it came time to leave, we also had to flag someone down to ask for the check because no one checked in on us at all throughout the entire one hour we were there.
As for the food, it was cold not warm but actually cold when it arrived and nearly flavorless. My father bit into goat that was cold. None of the dishes had the correct spice level we requested. I went up to the waiter who checked with the chef and said yes they forgot TO ADD THE SPICE. Instead of making new dishes, they simply took two of the dishes back to the kitchen, added spice, and brought the same plates back to us!! There was only a quarter left once everyone put it on their plates. I had to once again walk up to the waiter to say that we would like, at least one of the dishes replaced because most of it was eaten, but inedible because there was literally no spice or flavor. Instead of replacing both dishes, he only brought A new plate of chicken tikka . At the end of the meal, we ended up leaving the new plate of chicken tikka he brought out because the food was overall so terrible that there was no point in taking it. The only thing we packed was a little bit of goat, and the one dish that was decent the paneer. It was a waste of money and a very disappointing experience for a birthday celebration. There was no apology for the mistakes, nor did they come by even once to ask how the food was before or after the incident!! The only decent thing that they had was there Mango Lassi & the garlic nan - but everything else was so terrible that unless you’re just eating those two things I would stay away.
The service was inattentive to the point of being rude. We ran out of water halfway through the meal, and not only did no one refill our water but no one asked if we needed anything else to drink. Throughout the entire meal, we said “thank you” a few times when staff interacted with us, but they didn’t acknowledge us verbally or with any other gestures….just walked away.
Overall, the service was horrible, and the food was unremarkable. It felt like an afterthought from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for even decent Indian food or a welcoming dining experience. I don’t really ever write reviews and I’m not picky, I’ll take a basic chicken Tikkka dish and call it a day but this experience was so terrible that I had to take out the time to make sure no one else has to have such a terrible experience, wasting their money and more importantly their time with their friends and family. There are so many great other Indian restaurants on Long Island - literally go...
Read moreHave been to the original location in New Hyde Park and always had a great experience. This time around we decided to try the Hilton location in Melville. Biggest mistake ever. The worst service as we waited 20 minutes after being seated and actually get up and ask the receptionist if someone is going to take our order. After the order was taken they served us 1 item at a time and no one could eat together as they were bringing out 1 item at a team. The drinks took forever. The food was bland and we had to keep asking for utensils and plates. I must say this had to be one of the worst dine in experience with the food and service. We left half the food untouched as it was bland and had no taste. When i asked for the manager i was advised he is in the back kitchen cooking as they were not expecting guests on a Sunday night which is also Fathers Day. So they have no help and the manager is cooking. Give yourself a favor and stay away from this location. Take the drive and go to New Hyde Park. I am attaching the receipt so you can see how they automatically add a 18% tip and leave the customer no choice for the bad service. Stay away from this location. I am surprised how they are...
Read moreBeware!! New Manager at Melville branch is a complete liar!! Worst experience ever!!!! My family is a frequent to this branch. But this time was a worst experience ever.
My family of 4 people walked in and they were giving us a small table. So we politely asked to switch our table which was next to us 3 times. The restaurant was 60% empty at 9 pm. The restaurant closes at 10. They did not listen to us. We asked 3 different people, they all said manager is saying no.
After sometime, a family of 3 came and sat behind us and their food was served, within sometime they were moved to the bigger table with food.
I called the manager and asked him politely why the family was moved to the bigger table and not us. He said, 2 more people are joining. I was highly skeptical. So, I personally went and talked to the family and asked if anyone else is joining. They said no. I called the manager then and there proved him to be a...
