This is my go to Costco because it's never as crowded as the Westbury one. The only negative is it doesn't have as much Asian products as the Westbury location if that's what you're into. The weekends here are crowded but lines do move relatively quickly. They have I believe 6 self checkout stations and then your regular cashiers. An FYI, if you have any recycled containers receipts, you cannot use them at self checkout.
There is free parking which I don't have an issue finding unless I'm shopping on the weekends. You can still find one then but just a little more of a walk to the entrance.
They recently started implementing the scanning of your Costco ID cards at the door and there's always an employee at the scanning machines. You can either scan the physical card or your digital card which you have in your Costco app.
I know they have bathrooms but I haven't had to utilize them. There is also an eyeglass/vision care department and heading aid department inside which I have not utilized. Outside to the side they have an automobile department which I have not utilized either. No gas station at this location.
The food court is decent with only SOME items being reasonably priced. I recently tried their Chicken and Bacon Sandwich and was very disappointed. A cold sandwich with dry bread for $6.99. Never again. The hot dog was still $1.50 which is amazing. The pizzas (pepperoni and cheese only) are a bit greasy and a bit on the salty side. You have the option of either self checkout or regular cashier at the counter.
Now for the main warehouse. It's your typical Costco sized big warehouse with a good selection. Kirkland brand (Costco's own brand) products so far has been amazing (I haven't found a Kirkland brand product I don't like and I've tried a BUNCH) and is cheaper than the popular brands. The warehouse itself is very clean and organized with plenty of space for shopping carts throughout the store. Like most people, I go in for a few items and end up spending 3-4x the amount I was planning. I don't like how sometimes they randomly move items around but I guess that's their way of making you walk around to look for it and hopefully stumble upon other items you might want to try haha. They have many types of products such as electronics, snacks, frozen foods, baked goods, books, clothing, toys, pet related items, drinks, office supplies, backyard items, furniture, gardening, live plants/flowers, seasonal items, auto related items, kitchenware, skincare, baby products and more!
I use Costco's pharmacy for anything medication related, including medication for my dog and also his flea/tick treatments (yes, they have pet medications!)! I've been using Costco pharmacy for years because when I first did research, Costco had the best prices. You can refill prescriptions over the phone verbally or if they send you a text reminder, you can just reply with a number to refill and refills are usually done quickly.
The staff have been courteous and professional 99% of the time and I've been coming to this specific location for the past 5-6 years. I had an issue with one of the employees a few years ago checking my receipt at the door. This employee made a very unnecessary, rude comment for no reason and did not treat the customer in front of me that way so not sure why I was targeted. I filed a complaint and someone from management reached out to me very quickly to figure out what had happened.
I haven't had any issues with returning items, which I do not do often. Sometimes the line for this can get very long. If you don't have the receipt, they can look it up in their system with your Costco membership ID. They will also price adjust. I forgot what the time limit was though (ie, price dropped with the past 14 days).
You can also recycle glass bottles/cans/plastic bottles here. Sometimes it takes some time for an employee to come empty the machines but I haven't waited that long for someone.
Overall, I'm very happy with this Costco location and will continue to shop here! Costco also has a...
Read moreI wish I could give less than 1 star but unfortunately I cannot. My family has been shopping at this Costco location for decades. From grandparents to parents to now me. My most recent experience with this Costco location has been horrible and emotionally damaging. I am a 27 year old African American man that works in law enforcement. I am also a Black card Costco member and have been for the past 2 years. I go to checkout with all of my items. The employee that was scanning my items name was Marta. F. I get asked to show my membership ID (which is usual procedure). My membership ID is on my phone, and i do not have a picture of my face on my virtual membership card , the picture space is blank. So I was then very rudely and disrespectfully asked to show the employee photo ID. Without any issue I comply by giving her my NY drivers license, as I understand the employees have to ensure the membership belongs to the person using it. Once the photo ID was in the employees hand , she yells at me directly in my face saying “THIS IS NOT YOU, THIS IS NOT YOU.” I was absolutely startled and embarrassed as she makes this scene public. I then peacefully lean towards her and tell her . “The names match because it is 100% my ID with the correct name.” The names on the membership and my photo DMV drivers license match 100%. She then replies and says “NO , NO , YOU DONT BELONG HERE , THIS ISNT YOUR MEMBERSHIP, RIGHT!?” As you can imagine this is a huge scene and there’s a line that’s being created behind me as a result of this. I then tell her again, “ma’am this is my membership the names match , are you even reading it?” She yells at me again “NO” as she waves my id around, treating to throw it towards me. I then call for a manager or security, and NO one even shows up or tried to come quell the disturbance. So I am there alone , until she then finally realized the names match. Then hands me back my ID and says “it’s good now” below her breath. This happened yesterday , January 29th 2025 at 8:00pm. She scans my things rudely and quickly as she tosses them towards me at the end of the conveyer belt. I was so emotionally hurt and upset that this establishment condones this behavior from their employees. I spent $300 with all of my groceries and walked to my car. This was such an issue that the family behind me waiting to get their ID scanned says “hey is it okay that I don’t have a photo id?” The employee then says “Yes”. As you can assume the family that she said “Yes” to was not African American. I absolutely was discriminated against and wrongly accused of trying to steal a Costco membership that I rightfully pay for just like everyone else. Why was there an assumption from the employee named Marta F that I didn’t “belong” inside of this store? I am telling you the truth when I say this, do not shop at This Costco , they treated me like a criminal just based off of...
Read moreI understand I am the minority, but I personally deplore the Costco experience. For starters, the sheer amount of people at Costco make the experience frustrating and almost anxiety inducing than your normal leisurely stroll through the super market. The mass crowds cause the parkings lots to be packed, cashier checkout lines to be extraordinarily long, and a constant dodge/maneuvering around large shopping carts. Imo, the prices presented are no better than your typical on sale prices at the grocery store. Understood that that means you don't need to wait for a sale, but I personally prefer the restraint it allows so as to not always have your favorite snack/food on hand, but I realize that's my preference. For a lot of the options, you're restricted to only a few of the typical varieties for a product. For instance, eggos only come in regular buttermilk flavor (ie plain) vs the 5 or 6 varieties the grocery store normally has. Even brand wise, such as detergent, you're limited to maybe 4 whereas you have many more options for brands, scents, skin sensitivity, etc at a normal store. On top of all of this, you have to pay a membership for the privilege of all of this. Even more so if you want "cash back" which they advertise as ultimately paying for your membership in the end. I can shop at a normal store, pay 0 for a membership and have a cash back credit which affords, the same prices offered, same, if not better, cash back incentive, and have more options. Having said that, I do see the benefits in buying in bulk for larger families. So Costco has that going for it. They are a super store of sorts in the fact that you can one stop shop for a blender, laptop, pajamas and cereal all at once. I just feel that you're paying slightly more for that privilege despite general consensus and what they advertise. I've constantly compared my super market and other store visits to typical Costco runs, the non Costco runs always come out on top due to the reasons listed above. This is my personal take on it, but for some they may enjoy having it all in one spot and are perfectly fine with the variety provided. To each their own. This is my personal experience and feelings on...
