We made reservations at this restaurant for dinner a week ago to celebrate my son's 22nd birthday. Upon arrival the hostess tells us that our table is not ready yet and if we could grab a drink at the bar while they get the table ready so we head up to the bar which is on the upper level. Despite the bar not being crowded, the bartender did not make eye contact with us or ask for our order for about 10 minutes. He kept chatting with the other customers with small talk. He finally walks up to us and we gave him our order for 3 drinks. Then he proceeds to walk away and does not start making the drinks...then we notice that he has served some customers that arrived after us. In the meantime we see the hostess walk up the bartender and whisper something to him. Then she comes to us and says that the " owner of the restaurant" was sitting at our table with some guests and she couldn't ask him to leave so would we mind eating at the bar . We immediately declined as we explained to her that we were celebrating our son's birthday and did not want to compromise on our request. Frankly we were shocked that she was afraid to tell the owner of the restaurant that paying customers were made to wait for 40 minutes just because the owner had our table. This WAS THE MOST RIDICULOUS thing I have ever heard in my life. They proceeded to seat us after 40 minutes and the hostess had the audacity to tell us that our daughter who was on a work call outside ( which she took when the hostess told us that there was a wait) was not inside so she couldn't seat us before the whole party was at the reception. At this point we were livid because she was adding insult to injury by making it out to be our fault for their screw up. We did not make a scene as it was our son's birthday and we didn't want to ruin his special day. Our waiter Harry was fantastic and made up for this nasty experience...Suffice it to say that NOEMA is never getting our business again and I will make it my personal mission to tell everyone I know ( I've lived in long island my entire life so I know a lot of people) never to set foot in this horrible restaurant again. They ruined a special occasion for us and did not even have the grace to...
Read moreDinner at this beautiful restaurant is a MUST!!! The ambiance is 10/10 such a romantic setting with live music and unique paintings all over. My friend and I sat at a table on the main floor it was spacious, clean & the candle fixtures set a vibe. For drinks we ordered a Mocktail strawberry Mojito that my friend said was really good. It was presented nicely but also she mentioned that she hasn't ordered a mocktail in a while because she felt that they were never good but with this one she was really satisfied. I ordered the smoke show which is tequila based and has a little spice very nice not overwhelming also presented well. I really wanted to try the Santorini Sunset I thought it was garnished nicely with flowers but unfortunately it came with no flowers. The drink overall was good but I did want the complete presentation. For starters I began with the shrimp loukoumades which was beautifully plated. The shrimps were coated and had a rich taste. Secondly I got the must have starter on the menu the swordfish kebab, My goodness this dish deserves all praises. It was plated on a bed of green salsa which is more like an avocado puree, spinach and tomatoes. Absolutely delicious I couldn’t get enough I highly recommend. For our main course I originally ordered a snapper which sold out quickly, unfortunately I was unable to have it this dining experience but I definitely will next time. I did end up getting the Whole Branzino A La Plancha which was a great substitute topped with capers. I paired it with lemon potatoes which I do wish had a bit more seasoning. My friend chose the Filet mignon which she said was cooked to her liking. There was a hard sear on both sides of the steak which she seemed to enjoy. She paired her steak with gigantes which I also tasted, it had a real mediterranean taste to it you could taste all of the spices and the portion was a good size. For dessert I sided with the Bougatsa it was so much more than we both expected and I mean portion wise but also taste wise. It was flaky, rich but delicate we really enjoyed it. Service was really good our server Brandon was patient and explained the menu thoroughly, he also made many...
Read moreThe food was pretty good, however, the services left much to be desired. It was amateur and really off the mark.
Our server was unfamiliar with what was on the menu when I asked a question. His answer, "No one ever orders that". He did not even attempt to find out the answer. Wine menus were left on the table. And we did not even order wine. They just sat there until we asked that they be removed when starters and dinner arrived and there was not enough room for the plates to fit.
My husband and I ordered starters...his arrived 20 mins later and mine didn't arrive for another 20 minutes, WITH dinner. My husband did not want to begin eating until mine arrived. So, he sat there with his starter while we waited, and waited. Suddenly, starters and dinner came at the same time and was put on our tiny little table. There was no room to even eat without the fear of knocking something over, and without the common sense on staff's part to clear it first of menus. So, here we've got a tiny table, with starters and dinner plates sitting on top of menus while two staff members looked at each other, dumbfounded.
We actually had to direct staff to clear the table to allow for more room, and on how to clear it. My husband asked for S&P but no one came back to the table with it, or to check in with us. We did think about dessert, but that passed very quickly as we'd had enough of this stupidity for one night. We had to ask for our check, as attentiveness was no existent.
We did not say anything to Mgt about our experience, we just wanted to get the hell out.
While the food was not bad, it is not worth returning given the disjointed workflow, and inattentive, amateur staff.
The atmosphere is pretty chaotic- it's a combination of a loud bar scene, loud music and children crying in the bar area. The energy could be described as "weird" and not at all welcoming to anyone wanting a fine dining experience.
This experience was far from...
