The Lake George Bear's Den — Hotel in Town of Lake George

We originally planned on camping but figured this would be better as its more like glamping! The cottage we selected had a small fridge with freezer, microwave and at our request was outfitted with a coffee maker when we arrived. The room was clean, with a working window AC unit and a small bathroom; everything we needed. We had a wonderful spot with a grill and fire pit; we made use of both, even when it rained. This is a dog friendly property so it was nice being able to bring our pup along to enjoy the great outdoors. Dan and his family were wonderful at answering all our questions before and during our stay; you could always find someone on property who would be able to help you. We got a chance to chat with Dan a few times and he shared their story of how they came to own and operate The Bear's Den, it was a great story! It made us feel so much better about choosing this location. We plan on staying here again but next time in an efficiency with a built in cook top, didn't realize how much we needed one. You're super close to town but far away from the crowds, everything is within an easy drive. At the bottom of the hill, right across the street, you'll find 2 stores that can provide you with all the basics if you forgot to pack something or just want to grab some wine or a sandwich. We liked our cabin at this resort. We had the big 2 bedroom cabin with a loft that has 2 twin beds. We had 4 adults + 2 kids. It has a full kitchen & a living area. We wished it had a table to eat at especially for breakfast with the kids. (Bring a small table if you can & some chairs--you could use lawn chairs) It does have Central Air which was a huge bonus. The one thing we didn't love is that one bedroom had a sliding glass door off the side. We didn't feel safe with that in the bedroom as it felt like someone could break in. The owners are very nice & very accomodating. They provide the towels, wash cloths & bed linens as it is hotel ready. HI to all future visitors. Bears Den is the best place we stayed , reallny nice friendly , atmosphere, Dan was very nice and friendly whatever we needed he would give us or help us, second fridge or quick bite to eat reccomendation where the locals go. Kids our girls 5 and 8 years old enjoy the pool, playing basketball and corn holes. Our dog 13 years old Labrador was happy to share cabin with us as well she found out she has doggie friend Saidy. I would reccomend this place , convinient to any locations and activities and to town. Deli right across the streets is a life saver when you forget anything or just to get ice cream for the kids.
