-5 Stars! Room was extremely hot upon arrival. AC did not work properly. Dirty room and dirty towels. We only had a clean washcloth and a tiny body towel that appeared clean.
You could hear the motor of the AC from outside of the room. It reeked of a pungent cleaner in an attempt to hide the smell of smoke. Though we were told on check-in the site is smoke free. It would appear several guests missed that memo. The room looked like it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in a long time and I found a used towel still hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Went to wash my hands only to find the sink was leaking. Phone didn’t work to call the front desk. We walked down and they sent someone up pretty quickly. He came in looked at it and left. Came back with some tools and fixed the leak. Both times he didn’t close the door behind him increasing the heat in the room. He picked up the dirty wet towel from the floor that I cleaned up water with and put in on the counter next to our hygiene products. That is absolutely DISGUSTING! The entire time in the room you hear the ac clinking and clonking like it’s about to die and it was hot to the touch. The settings on the unit don’t work low/high the air is the exact same and still loud. Eventually the room cooled down to where we weren’t sweating without any clothes on but it didn’t last long as the ac seemed to go from cool to just air randomly. There was no need for blankets or even the sheet. After a cold shower to cool off I came out of the bathroom to be hit with an over powering smell of marijuana. By midnight we had to turn off the AC and put it on fan in hopes of getting some sleep before our 4:30am airport arrival. The whole hour of sleep I did get was interrupted by the uncomfortable heat and sweating. The best part of our stay was the single firefly that flashed and flew around the room. This is the 6th or 7th red roof we have stayed in and by far the worst of them all. I have stayed in motel 6’s better than this place. You’d be better off sleeping in your car than wasting your money on this hotel.
When checking out no one was at the front desk 4:00-4:20AM. We had to leave a note with the room key on the counter. Will never stay here again and would highly recommend going...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel last year and had issues and said Id never stay again. I needed a hotel while I worked an event and this was the closest. I wasnt going to go until I read "newly renovated," so the renovations would have been after my last stay. Foolishly, I gave it a chance. It was roughly $170 a night with a $100 deposit. My "newly renovated room" had a broken lock, busted toilet, disgusting stains on the curtains and bed sheets, dirty surfaces, and dead bugs. I didnt actually investigate the room until 10pm my first night. The 2nd night we said we would sleep somewhere else, but because it was already booked and so much closer to the event I was working and my 5 year old kid was sick we decided to tough out one more night. We went back again around 10pm and my kid who had just started getting sick was asleep when I discovered mouse poop and dead bugs. I dont know what bugs these were, but google images said they were bedbugs.
After a weekend of working and traveling we got home and instead of relaxing, had to spend time and money treating everything for bed bugs, a lot of stuff we simply threw away (so money spent on products and items we had to discard)
I reached out and filed a complaint and to amend the issue I was given 7500 redipoints, which Im pretty sure wont give me even ONE free night at another facility and definitely not two (the number I had to endure at this facility). Whatever, I accepted it. I was told I had to reply within 7 days to recieve the points. I replied twice, and it has now been 8 days and no points were added to my account and all communication has stopped. Now Im wasting more time writing this up and will have to spend time on the phone figuring this out.
I have stayed at other Red Roofs, I dont expect a 5 star hotel, but this location is abysmal. I wish I could add photos to this review to prove everything Im saying to anyone thinking about...
Read moreUPDATE: My hair still smells like that disgusting stale cigarette "non-smoking" room 24 hours after leaving. So gross.
This is one of those rooms that leaves you feeling gross the next morning when you depart. And this "Superior King" room cost 80 bucks....are you kidding me?
The supposedly nonsmoking room reeks of stale cigarette smoke and is musty as hell. The front desk apologized, said all rooms are nonsmoking, and didn't offer another room. I'm sitting in my car and can smell the stinky room smell on my jacket, clothes, and hair after only 14 hours in there. Ugh.
The room triggered allergic rhinitis for me. Not a common occurrence. (I'm currently nomadic and stay at a lot of different Airbnbs and red roofs, nine of which are the Ritz). Either the smoke or maybe mold in the walls did it. Not sure.
Cleanliness was sub-par. Large bodily fluid stain on the comforter, a piece of sausage under the bed, a bunch of pieces of tape (that look like the tape used for bandages at hospitals) stuck to the headboard, splatters and stuff stuck on the walls, dirty toilet bowl, dirt on the floor....Just not well-cleaned or inspected. This place surface-cleans at best. Furnishings are newer, and the off-center TV (common for Red Roof) at least rotates here, but the lack of cleanliness negates all of that.
There was no caffeinated coffee. My room contained four pods of decaf. Actual coffee is the bare minimum in your most expensive hotel room, ya'll. Come on.
All four pillows suck and are the same hard type. Usually there are a fee types to choose from so that you can be comfortable. The mattress here is not comfortable (older spring mattress) but not the worst.
Thanks for the overpriced bed, the trip to the drug store for benadryl, and the stinky clothes and hair....
