AT&T Store — Local services in Town of Malta

IMPORTANT AT&T Malta is NOT a corporate compliant location and therefore uses an entirely COMMISSION based pay structure for it's employees. Basically, what this means is that the people you interact with at this location have NOTHING to gain if you aren't there to spend money. Therefore you WILL NOT receive the same level of service as you would from a corporate compliant location.

I went to this store to get help with a new issue I had been experiencing where my cellphone reception kept cutting out. Their suggestion was to basically add an additional line of service(an additional e-sim) to my phone that would "boost" my mobile data and fix my issue. After expressing concern about increasing my current monthly bill they guaranteed me that this change wouldn't increase my monthly bill. I ended up having them add the line and decided to trust them but later that day I decided to get a second opinion from a corporate AT&T store. Sure enough the corporate location was able to pull up my account and showed me the substantial increase to my monthly bill that AT&T Malta had just applied earlier that day. The ironic part about this whole thing is that the corporate AT&T employee was also able to confirm that the change AT&T Malta made to my phone wouldn't have even fixed the issue I was having in the first place. To be honest I feel pretty stupid for letting the employees of AT&T Malta sweet talk me into something completely unnecessary in order to make additional commissions off of me but unfortunately it's just a byproduct of the way that store is operated. I type this all out now so that hopefully someone will see this and will save themselves the trouble.

I just switched from Verizon to AT&T because verizon coverage is the worst around Saratoga Lake. The staff here is very friendly and I knew they were trying to help my wife and I out. That being said this store is a waste of time and slightly fraudulent. I don't even believe their sign states that they are a reseller and NOT a corporate location. After 3hrs of working with them to port our old phone numbers to AT&T they still didn't setup my account properly. I wasn't listed as an account manager, never offered insurance, never offered employee discounts. Then when I returned today they couldn't fix any of the errors they made and couldn't even sell me an upgrade. I eventually had to ask where an actual corporate location was and they directed me to Wilton. It pains me to write this as the young man and woman in the store were very nice and wanted to to do the right thing but when they admitted they don't even have a proper store manager I lost all respect for this location. They should be reported to corporate for misleading people that this is an actual corporate location. If you're looking for a cell phone case or charger stop on by. I initially held my tongue during my experience with a sleazy employee at the AT&T store in Malta to try and get a new phone. Every other word that came out of his mouth was some gimmick trying to get me to purchase a more expensive contract and an even more expensive phone. I wanted to purchase outright a new phone that he deemed "crappy" and then said I needed to purchase a payment plan, and ended up walking out in anger without the phone I needed desperately. I drew the line at him threatening to call my husband while he was at work to get him to upgrade our current contract.
