DONT. WASTE. YOUR. TIME.
If youâve come to the Hamptonâs area to relax, feel like youâre home away from home, and feel some type of way. Donât. Come. Here. Youâll definitely be feeling some type of NEGATIVE way after coming here.
I booked this place for me and my hubbyâs anniversary (NOT WEDDING ANNIVERSARY). I specified I wanted a nice room, this was a special occasion and we even got to bring our pup with us (that was the only plus). I confirmed everything. We came here for a getaway. For relaxing, for a good time, to unplug l, disconnect, and celebrate us.
Ha. We were so wrong. If only we had looked at the previous reviews.
We were misled thinking this was a category 4 Hyatt Property. However, this was more of a motel stay. For the price. The location. This place shouldâve been way less of an airporty feel.
From the moment we got there it felt weird going to some sketchy parking lot thatâs unmonitored right across the street. Well good thing our room has just that view so we could totally keep an eye on all the cars. Ha.
When we checked in. No one acknowledged our anniversary or anything else. Any amenities. Nothing. Itâs ok though. When we arrived to our little lame third floor room with phenomenal parking spot views it was the biggest turn off of our lives. It was not relaxing, inviting nor peaceful as all you hear is people yelling and screaming and cars going around.
We requested a taller room with a better view but of course everything was booked up. We mentioned about our anniversary and no one cared to acknowledge. They just played the blame game and blamed it on corporate. Offered no solution. Nothing.
We had to call Hyatt directly. They said the only way is to speak to the manager of this hotel. I wouldnât call her a manager. She was a nightmare. Sarcastic. Rude. Inhospitable. The list goes on. We basically forced her to send us a bottle of wine. Prior to that she hung up the phone on me. This place made us so uncomfortable that we ended up not even staying the night and paying for it anyways.
We had to cancel our next night. What a bummer after traveling here 3 hours.
The hotel is a joke. Front staff is absolutely the kindest. The manager is a fraud. Iâve never stayed at a Hyatt like this. Hallways are loud. You hear housekeeping all day. The room is below standard. The tv isnât even centered right. You canât watch from your bed or couch. The bathrooms have mold in the ceiling area. Gross grout. The room is a turnoff. The views are ridiculous. The stay was horrendous. It wasnât even a stay because we refused to sleep here after all the awkward vibes.
Bottom line. This place is a joke. If youâre going to stay here because youâre going to a wedding at the museum the yeah. It might be worth it and convenient. Other than that this is not a place you come for vacation or relaxing. Their pool looks like a lame condominiums of 60 and older vibes.
This hotel should not even be called Hyatt. What a disappointment.
Disclaimer: it takes a lot for me to only give one star...
Read moreWe booked this hotel for two nights to see the aquarium and the Hampton Bays for our summer vacation.$100 stolen from my purse the day we checked in. Reported the theft to the front desk & a lady claimed to be the assistant manager of the hotel responded with âI talked to the people entered the room said they didnât touch the moneyâ. I believe the assistant manager was involved with the theft.
The assistant manager initially called me 6PM the day of the incident at the time we were just about to leave the room for dinner. She threatened us that we cannot leave the room for dinner because we were blaming their staff and she is going to call the police to report the theft. We had a 16 months old with us and we asked the assistant manager that can we quickly come back from our dinner by the time police comes since my baby is crying and she goes back to sleep 7PM? She said you cannot leave the room now. So, we were waiting for the police to come and after about half an hour later at 6:30PM, she called us back and said she talked to her general manager of the hotel and the GM said we can leave the room and go for dinner & the hotel will do their own investigation and they are not going to call the police at this time. We did not hear back anything from the assistant manager or from the GM during our stay in the hotel, so at the time of our check out we asked the front desk and demanded for the explanation about the theft. The assistant manager left me a voice massage om my cell phone around 2:40PM on the day we checked out of the hotel and said âI talked to the people entered the room said they didnât touch the moneyâ- more...

Two months ago, I thought I had booked a room online at the Hyatt Place in Riverhead for Saturday, May 27, 2023, as my wife and I were attending a wedding in Westhampton at 5pm that day.
When I called the hotel at 1pm on Saturday, May 27, 2023, to ascertain if we could get an early check in to get dressed for the wedding, I was stunned to find out two things:
I sheepishly looked at my phone and saw an old email that I had ignored from the Hyatt Place on April 27, 2023, advising me it was time to check in.
With my wife "slightly" upset at me, I spent the next hour trying to find a room at a "reasonable" rate. I finally located a hotel in Yaphank and we stayed there.
When I explained my embarrasing story about the date mixup to Caterina a few days ago, she could have easily stated that I never showed up and the Hyatt earned its money.
But, to my amazement and delight, she informed me that she understood I had a mistake and would make it right by refunding me all my money for the unused room (for April 27, 2023)
It is so heartwarming that Caterina and Hyatt Place Riverhead went out of their way to evidence compassion when any other hotel would have responded "you're out of luck".
5 stars to both for not taking advantage of the situation but helping me get out of the dog house!
Thank...
