Walgreens — Local services in Town of Riverhead

I recently moved to Riverhead. Well my doctor sent some prescriptions to Walgreens. When I arrived to Walgreens went to the pharmacy. I was told my insurance did not cover any medications that I I really needed. With out mentioning anything. While very busy Muhammad in the pharmacy department told me that I would be able to get them over the counter . He gave me the scripts and told me which ones were the same has the prescription. Muhammad was very knowledgeable respectful and courteous and also I was relieved that I would be able to get my medications and spend less. So I started looking for the over the counter medications which are a different name in the prescription from the doctor,but the same active ingredient that I needed. I was having a hard time finding them. When I seen a young lady stocking some items. I told myself let me ask her . She stopped what she was doing and ishe was very busy but she applicationspaused just to help me out . She walked and new where everything was which I needed looking at the prescriptions from the doctors. This young Lady's name is Shequana. They took the time out of there busy schedule to help me when they didn't have to. They went above and beyond. That's why I am taking the time to write this review and express my gratitude. The Riverhead, NY Walgreens is the worst pharmacy I have ever used. They take forever to answer their phone, then out you on hold, then hook you up to a phone that just keeps ringing forever. We had an emergency prescription that needed to fill and were told they had the medicine but we’re too busy to fill it that day. Next day they said they didn’t have it but it should be in the next day by 1:00pm. Then they said it might not make it in that third day so maybe by the fourth day by 1:00pm. Where are the managers? Do they even know what’s going on. People and managers need to be fired. Get someone in there who knows what they are doing! On a better note, Walgreens in Wading River and Medford were extremely helpful during our emergency checking inventory and filling within an hour. Hurray for these Walgreens. I have never written a review in my life this is my first. I don’t shop at Walgreens very much and I thought I’ll give it a try since my medical benefits suggest mail order and Walgreens. After many years with my mail order and no problems why even consider. Sadly I did. What a horrible horrible experience and I have not even visited. BE PREPARED! If ever you decide to call you will wait at least 30 min if someone picks up or drops the call. If you ever do get someone they will tell you we tried calling you about your prescription (which you called in about a week ago and are following up) several times, but couldn’t leave a message for some reason.
