We were passing through area on a road trip and needed a place to sleep for about 8 hours. I was not keen on paying over $120 for nearby competitor (also what I consider economy type lodging), so we decided to try this place.||It is hard to sum up in a review as it was just an odd experience, so bear with me here.||The motel is set back from main road and a bit tricky to see access road after dark. || There were almost no cars in parking lot and we initially thought the place was closed--but no the open sign was lit. Most of parking lot was roped off as it was being resurfaced. They are in midst of remodel, so pictures shown on site are not accurate at this point. The lobby was completely barren and looked like it was recently painted and had new floor. It also had an odd smell that I think may have been related to renovation (floor adhesive???).||Our room had laminate floor, not carpeting as shown. Overall it did not look at all like other photos on site and I'm sorry to say I took no pictures but I will describe below: Many of fixtures and furnishings looked brand new: I am pretty sure the beds, pillows, all linens, curtains (both window and shower), and towels were all new. The phone was still partially in wrapper--plugged in but did not work (but hey--we all have cells now). The tub and shower surround also looked new and all walls had been recently painted though not very well--the paint jobs was sloppy with drips on trim and even on floor. Poor paint jobs seem to be a hallmark of economy class motels. The windows were new enough to still have stickers. The TV was also new and worked fine with cable TV (although I only had it on long enough to watch PBS news so I cannot speak to overall channel selection).||The linens were all perfectly clean and the bathroom was decently clean. The floor could have used a good scrub, but I am picky about floors. The hallway had slight cigarette smoke odor but the room was fine; they still offer smoking rooms here so that smell is probably going to inevitably drift into hallways. ||The wifi seemed fine, but we used it very briefly. As I said, we were really just here to sleep.||The beds were firm and comfortable (if you like firm), ||The in room AC was an older unit (one of few things that was obviously not updated). It had not been turned on prior to our arrival, so room was warm at first but did gradually cool down nicely. ||There were no pictures on walls and motel lacked some fairly basic amenities such as a clock or bedside lamp pf any kind. The lighting was inadequate--overhead light in entry and a mismatched table lamp on desk. Overall the room felt unfinished.||My daughter met a spider in the bathroom, and she was very distressed by this, but we have spiders at home too, so I don't feel I can ding them for this.||There is no free breakfast, which is fine with me as I usually find the free breakfast in economy class hotels to be poor to inadequate.||But by far the most off-putting part of the whole experience was that we think that we were the only guests in the entire motel. There were 2 cars in lot--and we assumed the other car belonged to worker. This was mystifying as motel across freeway was packed (but now that I have seen the other reviews, I think I may understand the lack of patronage). It just felt very, very odd, and somehow less safe, to be only guests in motel. ||I suspect the owners are trying to improve the motel and from other reviews it sounds like this was much needed. It is not there yet, but there are some...
Read moreThis hotel should be condemned and torn down!!!! Our vehicle broke down late at night on and we were unable to have it towed until morning so we were forced to stay at this hotel as it was the closest one with an available room to where we broke down at. Had we had the ability and resources to go somewhere else after seeing the room we would have left immediately but were forced to stay due to no other options.
Directly after sending this message I will also be sending several photos that I took inside the room to show all of the following issues/complaints.
Check in--9/27/20 @ 1:51am Check out--9/27/20 @ 9:00am Room#--214 KNS Price--$91.18 cash
When we went into the room what we saw was beyond belief!!....
--hotel room door chain was broken so we had to stack the chair to the table on the rolling chair and shove them under the door handle so it couldnt be turned if someone tried to get into the room!!
Bathroom.... --1 of the wash clothes and 1 of the hand towels were on the floor next to the tub --there was only 1 full size bath towel supplied --only 1/2 of an already open and used roll of toilet paper supplied and the toilet paper holder was broken so the roll was just stuck on yhe broken arm of the holder --1/2 a bar of used soap laying in the tub from the previous guest --toilet was filthy and had what appeared to be urine in it
--tv was mounted on the wall with several electrical wires just hanging freely half way down the wall from behind it with no safety regard!!
--lamp shade on the 1 and only lamp in the world was ripped to pieces!!
--bed did not have a comforter on it just a white sheet with another floral sheet on top of the white one in place of a comforter!!
Within 20 or 30 minutes of us entering the room we made an attempt to reach the desk attendant via the room phone and also walking down to the desk window to address some of these things and it seemed he disappeared and we were never able to reach someone at that point nor were we able to find or reach an attendant at 9am when we were ready to check out!!!
This was the most HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING, UNPLEASANT, AND UNCOMFORTABLE HOTEL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!
As I stated this hotel should be condemned and torn down due to the filth, safety hazards, and numerous code violations. I can guarantee that if one room looks like the one I stayed in then I'm sure all of them do if not worse!!! I'm sure I wont be offered a refund for my $91.18!! I will be contacting the proper people/agencies to address all of these matters and issues and hope that someone does something...
Read moreI stayed here with my cousin for a few nights following a very long drive. We knew from reading reviews and looking online that this wasn't going to be a glamorous hotel, and we were fine with that. We just needed somewhere to sleep and the prices were good. Yes, the place is kinda dirty, outdated and could really use a good cleaning-at least someone to vacuum the halls once in a while. Yes, there might be some cockroaches and some cigarette smells. So if those things bother you- I wouldn't book here. But I feel like you should read reviews before you book a hotel stay and if you don't- that's on you! I understand why some people would be grossed out- but it takes a lot to bother me and a couple dead cockroaces isn't going to shake me too much, but yes they should clean a little better. It's not like they're crawling all over the place or anything, but still. Our room was pretty clean, however. More clean than the hallways and the outside. The parking lot and entrance was hard to find- especially at night. There's not much to draw you to it, but it is in a great location and my Lord if Gordon Ramsay could come fix this place up, it could be a serious gold mine! It's right next to a big gas station with food and a jack in the box, and the town is right there and has tons of shops. So everything you need is close by. But as it sits right now, this hotel is a simple spot to rest your bones with friendly people. The other guests were kind. the staff were beyond friendly and helpful, and honestly it felt like I wasn't that far from home! I would absolutely...
