The rooms are fairly decent here, with hard flooring and vinyl. The room was clean, with clean linens and fairly comfortable beds with 4 pillows, and thick blankets each. The room didn't smell or anything, and had a great air conditioner. The bathroom door was a sliding barn style door.
The WiFi here is absolutely horrible, and extremely slow, even for a hotel/motel. It had issues even trying to stream 240p YouTube videos, so use your phone or hotspot if you need internet. Theirs is only sufficient enough for email or basic web browsing. Streaming or video conferencing is entirely out of the question.
Our room had no microwave, iron, nor coffee maker, but did have a small fridge and large TV with Direct TV. The room didn't have a closet, at all, nor hangers, and didnt have any place to hang shirts with your own hangers either. It also didn't have a luggage rack, for keeping your bags off the floor. All this might have been due to our room being handicapped accessible, with a walk-in shower, but I'm not sure. The stand between the beds was only a very small shelf, had no drawers beneath it, and the in-room phone took up half of it. So, there isn't much space for things on the nightstand.
This place has a small outdoor pool, is also really close to the interstate, is across the street from a small fuel station, and has a few fast food places nearby.
Breakfast is sufficient, if you don't mind frozen/processed foods. They had scrambled eggs, sausage patties, cereal, a waffle maker, toast, muffins, and bagels. They also offered tangerines, yogurt, and bananas too, if you hate fozen foods. They also had coffee at breakfast, in one small pot, and had cream cheese in packets for the bagels.
There is a tiny convenient store in the front office that sells sodas, and a few very basic necessities, in case you forgot something. No Redbulls, and I didnt notice any vending machines outside. I didn't notice any laundry nor ice either, but may have missed these. Even if they had ice, there were no cups nor bucket in the room.
During our stay at least, over an entire weekend, some of the other guests were partying all night, day drinking too, and throwing bottles and trash from the upper balconies. The rooms open directly to the outside, so many of the parking spaces are directly beneath the balconies, and you can hear and smell everything from outside.
We may have just been there on the wrong weekend, as far as the inconsiderate guests go, so I can't blame the establishment for that. The staff were cordial and accommodating.
Overall, for the price, this is not a bad place to stay, especially if you only need a place to sleep. That said, I wouldn't stay here for business, nor with small children, as it seems like the kind of place where law enforcement might show up to, on occasion.
I've definitely stayed at worse places, and would even stay here again, if they improve their WiFi and...
Read moreSingle gals,DO NOT STAY HERE BY YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My wife booked this place for a 4 night stay while she was in Atlanta for business. Room was clean, a/c worked well, upgrade motel, not done very well. Who thought it was a good idea to put a sliding door on the bathroom that does not close all the way, and then put a mirror on the wall so that you can clearly see in the bathroom from the bed? All the rooms enter from the outside. 3 am Sunday morning I get woke up by my wife in a panic, someone is trying to get into her room with a keycard(given to them by the clown at the front desk). She double bolted the door and moved some things in front of it before going to bed. She said she tried calling the front desk but no answer, I told her to hang up and call 911. She wouldn't get off the phone with me, but she used the phone in the room, called the desk and the clown that answered, asked if the person got in. Holy S--- are kidding me!!!!! She knows how to take care of herself and she is very well trained. A few choice comments to the guy trying to get in, and he ran. She saw him through the peephole. That morning when she went to leave there was a young lady working the desk. She told her what happened, and asked to leave a key card for me. I drove 5.5 hrs to stay with her Sunday night, and we left Monday. When i arrived I had a conversation with that same young lady, who told me that she would notify the manager and look at the camera. We left Monday, she for another business trip and I went back home. I called BW corporate, told them what happened, they gave me a CR# and said someone will be in touch within 5 days. NOTHING!!!! I purposely waited to hear from them before writing this review. You would think something this serious would have been handled by now,(her stay was the 4-8 Sep). We will NERVER AGAIN stay at BW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If by chance BW makes contact with me about this( and not by leaving a lame excuse here) I will edit this review, but I'm not holding my...
Read moreI’ve have lived in this area for a few years and I remember his hotel not being so savory. I believe it was an Econolodge at one point then it became a private off brand hotel and was flooded with sketchy characters and occasionally was and area that Dekalb PD would post up to keep the criminal activity down.
I needed to book. Room and this place came up on Expedia. I noticed the name change, also noticed it’s now part of the Best Western brands which I’m ok with them, more of a Hilton Honors kind the guy. The room price was fairly reasonable and for what I was paying I was extremely cautious as to what I could be getting myself into.
I arrive at the location and the parking lot is fairly empty at check in time. Now this is an area where it’s not a common travel spot so wasn’t expecting it to be full capacity such as maybe a property close to the airport or downtown Atlanta. The clerk was very nice, checked me in swiftly, told me of breakfast and the various amenities on spot.
They have done a complete OVERHAUL of the place!! They serve a breakfast one. Second added in t gym, the pool was opened and maintained. The rooms were fully renovated, brand new everything. From the floor to the ceiling! Holy shit! I was a little upset that I didn’t book two nights just for the hell of it. Only problem I had was there was quite the gap at the bottom of the door for my room. Not a problem no but I’m sure in the winter time it will be with that cold air rushing in or perhaps bugs coming in period. Otherwise I had no no no issues with the place. At night it was pretty quiet. I heard nothing. I have to say I really did enjoy my stay at this place and if I needed to be in the area again I will book...
