SCAM WARNING: This review is long overdue. My family booked a room at America's Best Value Inn in Twentynine Palms on new years eve. We booked via an app called Hopper. Unfortunately we did not read the reviews in advance or we would have known it was a scam. This hotel has lots of negative reviews just like this one. We trusted Hopper and we're victims of the scam like many others. The room was filthy. Greasy fingerprints on the door and walls, brown splatters on the bathroom walls and makeup smeared on the shower curtain. The water came out of the tap looking like soap, no bottled water available, tv and internet didn't work, no coffee in the room, dirty sheets w/ hair. It was a long sleepless night waiting for the front desk to open. When they did finally open they were so rude. The man who lives there told me it was probably my hair and if I had a problem or wanted to cancel the second night I would have to take it up with Hopper. We were so horrified we left. I SHOULD HAVE CALLED THE POLICE. Instead we decided to remain peaceful, especially on new years day with a three year old child. So we left, asked them to cancel the second night and went on. Not only did they not cancel the second night - they intentionally charged us over $300 for our terrible, sleepless stay. Hopper has very fine print that said they will not help and all charges must be addressed with the hotel. It's a clear scam. All three of us, including my small child were sick after our stay. It was absolutely shameful how we were treated. Please be warned. UPDATE: I reported this hotel to Better Business Bureau. After filing my report I discovered I was the 369th complaint filed against this hotel in the last 3 years. This hotel is a nightmare. My notes to the owner who will invariably read - do not bother with your standard "so sorry" response. Integrity is everything. ** Update 11/7/24 - I just stopped back to see if this place had been closed down yet for fraud. I see the message the owner left trying to skirt responsibility and deny I stayed there. 100% not true. I am certain I have the right hotel and I have pictures to back up everything I said. This place is an abomination. May all the karma of everyone your ever screwed over come back to haunt you 5 fold. To the readers - check the other reviews. This place is...
Read moreYeah, NO. Unreal. Paid with booking.com. Reserved, confirmed, receipt in our email. Had been there for a few days, needed a few more. This morning- I casually stroll into the normally EMPTY lobby (8 times outta 10, there's just a sign that says "be back shortly"- and the clerk, Nadia, without even making eye-contact with me, says: "You gotta leave, your room isn't available... anymore." I reply, "uh... it was paid for YESTERDAY.... another 3 days.. Booking.com." her BEST ANSWER: "...it's the 'owners' decision and we're all sold out... you need to be out by 11am" (this was 9:30am). Confused, bewildered- I foolishly ask again- "I don't understanding- we... already 'have it'- and now.. i have to... leave?"
"...be out by 11."
"Can I have another room??"
",none available"
So, after scrambling for an hour and a half to try and NOW find something else... AND a CAB (no car)... 'm disabled and also just sustained a severe injury to my left hand, Nadia, the "owners" ... just couldn't be bothered with it. Told me AGAIN, with a lousy scowl on her mug- Nadia says "Maybe try... the Motel6"... and she scurries away into a bsck room somewhere. I missed two zoom meetings today- that were time-sensitive a doctors office and a lawyers office... this place, couldn't give a rat's ass. April is Autism Awareness month- like they care.
See, "stupid me" ... I gave a 100% truthful, yet "bad" review on the Motel6 in town...
Ugh... I didn't think that the "owners" were all RELATED: Singh, Patel, Khosla
Oh, NOW I get it, now I understand. I give a "unfavorable review", so you / "the owners" contact the NEW place I'm at- and get me "thrown out". Outstanding.
I had my gf call...
Read moreOver the years of visiting JTNP I've stayed at a number of places in Joshua Tree and 29 Palms and have found Americas Best Value Inn to be just that, the best value. All I require in an accommodation really is it to be clean and secure and Americas Best provides just that and a bit more. It's located close to the road (Utah Trail) that leads to the north entrance to the park and is within walking distance to a couple of restaurants, fast food, a supermarket and even a Dollar Tree. The beds are firm with a bunch of pillows and the bathroom is roomy with a good shower. Also a small refrig, a microwave, coffee maker and fast WiFi make for a very consistent and enjoyable stay. If there's a better bang for the buck close to the national park and there are more expensive places to stay I haven't found it and that's not for the lack of looking. A good location, secure, clean with a very pleasant accommodating staff (shout out to Cameron on the front desk) . . . that's what keeps me coming back knowing I will not be disappointed, after a half a dozen stays I haven't yet and don't see as I will in my future stays. ** Signing up and booking online through Redlion.com you can earn Hello Bucks that you can apply to your next stay, I saved $20 on my last stay ($56.21) and have accrued another $20 worth of Hello Bucks for my next stay. No other booking site comes close. I hope this can be of some use to any of my fellow travelers looking for a nice place to stay when visiting Joshua Tree...
