I would have loved to give 5 stars, but could not. The bad; our waiter stated the ticket got lost. We were told this after waiting an hour for our food. I got my salad, but my friend did not get hers. I was asking if I could just pay for my salad and bread, we could go else where. I was jet lagged, both of us just wanting to go to our hotel. It was already getting late. The server reassured me it would be out quickly, just a few minutes, 10 maybe 15 minutes. Fine, we ask for it to go. 25 minutes later as we were about to say forget it, the server walks up with our steak, ribs, and Ceasar salad in a to- go bag with our bill. The waiter went on to explain the Ceasar salad is made by the kitchen. He attempted to pin it on the kitchen staff, but I have a feeling he didn't turn our ticket in. We were only offered 10% off because we could show them the hotel key we were staying locally. After sitting for 1 hour and 25 minutes a nervous opps sorry is all we got. For the price we paid for our food, you think customer service would have been better. I could understand if the place was packed, but we got there towards when the place was emptying out. We watched three other tables walk in, be served their drinks, appetizers, and meals before we spoke up. The good; We were greater and seated quickly by one of the other waitresses. The restaurant was clean, simple, and decently put together for what it is. The menu offers dinner combos with house salad, the usual things. It's a touch high, but it's California. I was not expecting good food after our experience. However, once we got back to the hotel room everything looked good. I was able to cut my medium rare steak with the flimsy butter knife given in the to-go bag with ease. Massive props to the gentleman behind the grill. The rest of the food was pretty good. I just wish the service would have been better. Your best bet is to order take out...
Read moreI ordered a combination plate. The beef ribs and the pork chop. After seeing what everybody else got, pulled pork sandwich, shredded brisket sandwich, Rib Co Burger, and baby back ribs? I'm more 90% certain that I ordered the WORST items on the menu.
Let's break it down.
The Beef ribs were so overcooked that it was like eating jerky. When they came out, it looked as if somebody had already eaten half of them. Not to mention this restaurant has the audacity to serve beef ribs, without actually removing the silver lining and the fat that is a part of that. In the half rack (3 ribs) I think I was able to extract approximately 1/2 of a cup of meat. I felt so robbed.
The pork chop. It was a center cut pork chop that also was abundantly overcooked and poorly seasoned. The upside? There was a lot of overcooked, dried meat! So I was able to fill by stomach.
The sides were surprisingly good. I ordered the macaroni and cheese, it was warm, cheesy and very flavorful. The flavor wasn't 100% right though. I don't know what it was, but there was something wrong with the flavor. Oh! And somebody better tell the kitchen staff that pepper doesn't belong in everything. At least not that abundantly. The Fries we're absolutely the best thing I ate. Oh! If they had chili cheese fries? I think I'd be in heaven. And lastly the cornbread muffins were old and stale. All in all I would come here again, but I wouldn't order those meats unless I feel like I need...
Read moreVery pricey! The food is good. The service was a bit slow. I dont like that they don't sell their delicious cornbread muffins separately, they only come with the meals. They serve the muffins with a yummy honey butter and when they come out nice and hot they are so addictive! I tried this place twice while in town, it was expensive both times but I wanted to give it another chance. First time we shared a combo you choose at least 2 options and we got pork spareribs, chicken breast and pulled pork. The ribs were delicious and very soft, the chicken was ok some pieces were a bit rubbery, the pork was ok also just needed something like more muffin or a bread roll or something to offset the flavor and texture. Came with 2 sides we got mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese. On the side we ordered potato salad which was my favorite! It was tangy and delicious! Also ordered a fried chicken plate came with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. The chicken was again a little rubbery and some pieces a bit dry. Had a side of fries those were tasty! Second visit ordered ceasar salad, beef ribs and tri tip. Came with 2 sides again got potato salad for both and ordered some macaroni & cheese and mashed potatoes on the side. The kids had chicken tenders they were pretty good for being chicken. Probably won't return here the service is not great seems like they treat locals...
