Chippewa Motel Mount Pleasant — Hotel in Union Charter Township

LISTEN WELL- I do not normally review. EVER. However, we were unfortunately the ones who went back and forth about booking this when we were in a pinch. We went through the reviews saw a lot of bad ones but also a few saying to “ignore the reviews because it’s not that bad” so against our better judgement, we booked a night.

The one to three pictures you can find of it online are absolutely NOT the case. As well as this, the room was not cleaned at all and clearly hasn’t been in quite some time. There was dried urine on the bathroom door, blood on the toilet, dead bugs filling the light fixtures that you could see inside when the lights were turned on, gross toilet paper behind the bathroom door, boogers wiped all over the walls and headboard, black fingerprints and grime on everything, sticky surfaces and hair on the counters and sink, tub was not clean nor did they have any of the small toiletries to go with it, our sheets had small blood spots stained into it, and the blanket isn’t even a comforter it’s a throw blanket to cover the bed with cigarette burns. I could go on and on. I’m sure you could even think at this point “maybe it’s justTHAT room that’s like that”… that is also not the case. Family members also booked a room there with us and theirs was just as bad. The ONLY reason we stayed was because we live in the upper peninsula and it was 4am and it was too cold to sleep in our vehicles.

DO NOT BOOK. and if you are in such a bind that this is your only option- you should STILL ask to see the room before you agree to the non refundable room with them.

Amazing first of all. I'm very disappointed in alot of other reviews of this place to many People focus on negativity. 1st of all I want to state that I have Been a housekeeper since I was 7 and I have stayed in a lot of motels that I have left and went and got my own cleaning supplies and had to come back and do it myself. This by far is the cleanness Room I have ever stay in my life. I have to give absolute credit to the housekeeper because you do an amazing job whoever you are. Everything was spotless including the comforters on the bed I flip them over and look for stains they are spotless not one speck of dust even on the light bulbs everything Was immaculate. In the staff the staff was incredibly nice and very sensitive to me and because of the low prices I was able to afford to go to my mother's funeral. All the other motels were so expensive and this one was only $60 I am very grateful for that and I say thank you. The only things I would probably change would be the curb appeal get rid of the little ashtrays on the balconies going to the rooms those look trashy put the big Gray ones up two is all you should need one on each end They look less tacky 2nd add some curb appeal add some White Twinkle lights on the balconies in polls just to brighten it up a little bit and get rid of the grill in some of the cutter down front but the rooms the rooms are older but they are insanely clean in very pleasant I am very grateful to the staff in the housekeeper making my kids in me very...

They started by asking if we wanted first floor or second I opted for second. Walking up a woman walks out a motel room she clearly lives in and says "my yard is not an ash tray" (there is not any yard just sidewalk and parking lot). We continue to the stairs the walk to the room is squishy like all the wood is rotted and the only thing keeping me from falling through is the carpet. Then we get to our room and the room before ours has toys in the window and a welcome mat again full time resident? Only this one has a strong aroma of weed in a smoke free motel, it had encompassed the rooms around it. I went to the front desk and complained and the response was "that's why I asked if you wanted upstairs or down" I guess note to self up stairs option on motels are weed scented. He proceeded to show us a down stairs room we could stay in which smelled mildewy and had a black streak the width of a standard tire and about 6-8inches long down the wall next to the bed. At this time I told him we will not be staying it's unacceptable conditions and he says he cannot refund bc they need 24 hours notice to cancel (we booked that day through a web site who was able to get us a refund though we are still waiting to see if it...
