This review is more for AIS installation company because I can’t find where there company is to leave a review & I want to make sure Home Depot knows who they are hiring is poor quality. 1st let me say HD gets 5 star & we have used them for Many other projects with no issues. If I could give a 0 I could to this AIS Installation. The person they had come to do our flooring from Home Depot made a quoted 1 day job into 2. Day one the guy came alone, no badge, no call ahead. He came about 10:30am after I had called HD & AIS to inquire arrive time as I was growing concerned would not be able to complete this day job. The guy worked 3 hours and left! He said he gets to count drive time in his day & he was 2 1/2 hours away. He asked me repeatedly if it was ok to finish tomorrow. I said no because it was quoted one day & I would have to take another day off of work. I contacted Home Depot, who was extremely kind and helpful. They said they were going to email the management of AIS and have them call me. Day two still no phone call at 5:30 PM from AIS. Day two had to take another day off of work to accommodate this one day job. They were a no call no show I called Home Depot and AIS again. AIS said they would be here at 12:30. Home Depot again was very kind and helpful and said they forwarded the email to the next level at AIS. Still no response. Day 1 AIS said would pass to management to get with me for a compensation. Day 2 AIS says HD has to do it. The guy shows up today with another helper (thank goodness )& still no badges & no phone call of arrived time being delayed. Keep in mind HD usually calls or text to keep you posted on arrival times this guy did not. They got here at 2:30 PM didn’t leave till 6pm and I am not able to leave for my vacation. We had planned to leave at 4:30 today since the job was supposed to be done yesterday. I’m extremely disappointed and will continue to pursue compensation for having to take two days off of work and missing my vacation time! I also have to say the quality was not up to HD standards we have experienced in the past. It is ok but not as good as guys we had previously. 2 years ago had same kind of hard wood flooring installed and they guys worked hard, put flooring under the base boards & very respectful. This group kept leaving my door open when I have air conditioning & asked for our WiFi password. Then as they were leaving asked for bottled water! I think that’s unprofessional. To me seems too stair is loose and they made a mistake in cut so caulked it. They put things to hold down door ways which is fine but wish would have asked because they even went in my bedroom closet & took out shelving! They should have asked. Read moreHorrible experience with their flooring department, and their specialty supervisor. 10 months ago we ordered a small entryway of vinyl and a dining room, living room and bedroom with closet of carpet. The vinyl that they put in LOOKED like what we ordered(it wasn't )and the wrong trim was installed. They admitted it wasn't what we ordered one of the times we were in the store, then they just ignored it. We let it go, bc it's a small area and we can put something else down later. What we really wanted was the carpet. Original carpet install date arrives, we've moved the majority of the furniture into the kitchen and out of the way (the rest they were supposed to move), husband took the day off work, we were ready to go. Carpet truck pulls up, with one guy (who said he was supposed to have additional crew members) and had us look in the back bc he had a roll of jet black carpet( not just slightly darker, JET black). He said he didn't think black carpet for an entire downstairs of a house made sense. We ordered gray carpet (pictured below). So, we turned the carpet away. We're told (by someone in the flooring department) that we're not the first ones to have this issue with this carpet and to pick out carpet in a similar price bracket and we wouldn't owe any additional cost bc of the inconvenience. So,we go in and pick another carpet. The next install day was supposed to be this upcoming Wednesday. Saturday morning we got up, and got started moving as much as we could to get ahead of what we'd need to finish moving Tuesday night. Saturday they call and tell us we owe $372 before they'll install the carpet. We tried to explain that we were told we wouldn't be expected to pay any additional towards this. They were rude, told us we turned away the correct carpet the first time and this was on us. Multiple phone conversations later, we cancelled the carpet all together and chose to pay the restock fee. I went Black Friday shopping at my local HD just before 11am and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted warmly with an offer for a cup of fresh coffee and/or a cookie. The associate also said they'd be giving customers hot dogs around 11am if I was hungry and wanted to come back up. I know that was just a Black Friday occurrence, but it was still so thoughtful and generous. But then, while shopping around, I had no less than 3 associates stop me to check to see if they could help me find anything. They were pleasant, kind and were not at all "pushy" like you'll often find with sales people. They were genuinely trying to help customers navigate the store to find what they were looking for. One woman was so friendly and offered to lead me right to an item I was searching for. Every staff member I encountered - or overheard conversing with another customer - was friendly, warm and welcoming. Then, while I was at the self checkout, a woman manning the registers offered to hand me my items while I checked out. It was such a positive, wonderful experience on a day when people can be so "cutthroat". AND - they had really good deals! I was so impressed - way to go, Home Depot! That was the epitome of customer service and I will tell anyone who will listen. Definitely earned my business...
