I've taken a couple of days to sit on it and decide whether to write a review or not and what I would say. Honestly I wish I could say I enjoyed my visit here but I didn't at all. I almost wrote off IHOP altogether because of our experience here. I'm typically very relaxed and don't have high standards about eating at restaurants since I've worked the food industry myself and understand it can get busy and stressful. To start the hostess never asked if we would like a table or a booth and we had to ask for a high chair for our little one. Totally fine. Not a big deal. They also packed all of the customers into one small section of the restaurant instead of spreading us out more which made it a little noisy but not too bad until they also packed in a group of 12 loud college girls right in the middle of all of us. At that point it was overly loud. I was so excited to try the new cinnamon bun crepes and chose to eat here for my birthday lunch but of course they ran out. Super disappointing but whatever. It happens. I tried the BOGO breakfast crepes and the lemon ricotta crepes instead. My significant other had some type of omelette and our little one had chicken strips with fries. Our waiter was a college aged male who didn't seem like a good fit for the food service industry. We didn't get silverware until after our food was delivered and only after I had to ask for it. Which is also whatever. It happens. Once our food was delivered he never once came back to the table. My significant other had ordered coffee and only got one small barely warm cup the whole time. Our waiter wasn't all that busy either. We could see him sitting down and playing around on his phone the majority of our visit. Now onto the food. My significant other's omelette was really overcooked as was the rest of our food. The tenders were so overcooked that my little one just couldn't eat it. It was a choking hazard at that point. My little one loves french fries but barely ate them as they were old and had been sitting for a while before receiving them. My lemon ricotta crepes were overcooked. The lemon ricotta filling wasn't horrible though. It was sweet but not overly sweet with a light lemon flavor. I personally don't like blueberries and they came with it so I didn't experience the entire dish altogether. My breakfast crepes were really overcooked, even the eggs inside were overcooked. The bacon pieces were pretty good but not enough to make the breakfast crepes really enjoyable. To top off an already bad experience; I found a pretty good sized piece of plastic in my breakfast crepe after I put it in the mouth. My significant other went to go speak to the manager at that point while I stayed with our child. The manager said she would 'handle it' and came to our table a few minutes later. She said she was going to take off the crepes from the bill and give us half off the rest. After reviewing the bill we noticed she didn't actually take off the crepes but instead did a 50% discount on them as well. All in all it was a horrible experience and we just won't dine at this location again. I used to eat here a lot and it seems this restaurant has...
Read moreWe were seated by the hostess at the same time as an older couple who walked in right behind us. They were seated at a table just a few feet away and were immediately greeted, drink order taken, etc... We sat and waited for over almost 20 minutes while 4 different servers looked at us, made eye contact but said nothing. They weren't even very busy, either. I watched as tables were casually bussed, etc...
It became kind of a joke between my boyfriend and I, but we were both getting increasingly frustrated. By this time, the older couple who had walked in behind us was already halfway through eating their meals. A group of 4 was sat a few tables over and received their drinks within a minute of sitting down... yet we were still waiting for our server to greet us and take a drink order.
Since we were next to the doorway between rooms and only 5 feet from the server station, I even tried hanging my menu halfway off the table so that someone would realize that we've been sitting there for some time. The servers walked around the menu without saying a word. Finally, my boyfriend went and found the manager, who came and apologized. Our server took our drink and food orders, and things went pretty smoothly from there. We were pretty surprised, though that nothing was comped, not even so much as a small amount gift card or a coupon... We weren't just overlooked; we were blatently ignored for almost 20 minutes and to rectify the situation, all we received was a simple "sorry 'bout that." I did politely tell the manager it was alright, because my boyfriend and I have both worked as servers (a long time ago), so we're pretty understanding that things happen.
The server who took care of us was very kind, and got our food to us as quickly as possible. The food was fine, too... And I'm so glad they had Tabasco for my eggs!! No complaints on anything except for the first 20 minutes of being looked at and ignored, and then we were a bit surprised that no other gestures were made to apologize. I'm not suggesting that I want free food, but even if they had given us a generic coupon, I would've been more satisfied that they truly were...
Read moreIt wasn't busy when we arrived around 3pm on Sunday July 24. We were a party of 3. Ken was assigned as our server. It took him over 5 minutes to come to the table. Ordered 2 waters and a chocolate milk. He came back after almost 10 minutes. He didn't bring napkins or eating utensils. Took our very easy order and left. After several minutes the table directly behind me got their food but it was burnt! He dropped it off to them and left quickly. They had to wait a long time for his return to complain about the burnt food to which he commented that it was "a little dark". That description would be an understatement. It took a long, long time to get our food. He brought no eating utensils. I had to ask for them and refills on our water. He left and didn't return for over 5 minutes. I had to go get the silverware myself. The table across and on the other side didn't get silverware either. My sandwich was warm. I feel it had been waiting a bit to be delivered. When Ken did come back with the water refills(had to ask for them)he still didn't bring the silverware!!! I told him I got us silverware, he didn't care. Seriously??! I asked for a carry-out box and didn't see him again until I got fed up and went to the cashier area. The people in front of me (who got the burnt food) were checking out as well. At least they got their bill. They were unhappy too. No one there cared. The whole experience sucked. Ruined our meal. On the whole it was very disappointing. I thought ihop was supposed to be awesome...what a joke. We were there from 2:55 to 4:20ish and it was just waiting to...
