Looooove this store, one of the last brick and morter places to buy movies and music as well. Variety is amazing and I look forward to coming in to browse all the time!
HOWEVER, Last visit I felt the need to point out a bit of damage that may render a laserdisc unplayable after I pulled it from the sleeve to check, as I have had a similar issue with one before from an ebay transaction. And typically check them all before purchasing in-store.
Is then treated passive aggressively by staff after voicing my observation. "We dont test any media when it comes in." After I earnestly asked. As a member of staff tosses laserdisc in question into trash can.
Kinda dramatic in my opinion wanted to brush off, but figured I would share this with any potential physical media enthusiasts as some of the pricing is VERY HIGH depending on what exactly you may be looking for. I guess you have to re-check EVERY DVD, CD, RECORD, BLUERAY, LASERDISC ETC... as staff do not and you may end up with a $40+ paperweight that doesnt even...
Read moreThis is a pretty decent used book store, and well worth a visit. It's in the Cherry Grove strip mall near the Kroger, jammed next to a few discount stores, and looks pretty tacky from the outside. But it's well worth a visit, for me. The place is huge and was well staffed with a large and very well organized collection. As you enter on the left, they have their more expensive offerings, older and collectibles, sets, some in a locked case. The main section is row after row of author-alphabetized and thematically separated more recent books, and here you could truly browse for hours. If they sold coffee here and had some chairs, I might just move in. On the right side of the store they have their video selections, DVDs and Blu Rays, alphabetized by title, with separate areas for movies and TV series. Better than wasting time online - find it there. A good number are new and sealed - I suppose folks buy stuff, never view, then sell it to these guys. Go in, you're sure to find things...
Read moreHalf Price bookstore is a great store if you’re going to sell movies or books, and it is a great store to shop around for deals. But it is an absolutely horrible place to order anything to be shipped to the store because, they do not tell the truth on how long things will take to get shipped. Every single time I have ordered some thing whether it be a book or a movie to be locally shipped from a different store it has taken a week. The last time I have ordered something to be shipped to the store. It is taken at least a week and a half and is still not in. Do not promise customers that it will be in within a week if it is not feasibly possible for you to get it in this time even though every single other time that I have ordered something to be shipped locally from a different store that it has come within a week. This is unacceptable and it needs to be fixed or you need to tell people that it will take longer...
