Stumbling into SleepFirst was a great life experience that my partner and I won’t forget. We had spent an entire day researching which mattress was the best for us. We walked into SleepFirst determined to buy the mattress we had spent hours researching and watching endless reviews on. When we finally tried the mattress it was not what we had expected. Luckily, this is where Patrick came to the rescue. Based on our specific needs (side sleepers, back pain, and athletic recovery) Patrick was able to recommend two other options which were better than what we had researched. When trying the mattresses Patrick taught us how to properly test out the mattress’ and he made us feel comfortable too considering we were a bit shy initially! We learned that SleepFirst does price matching, free mattress delivery, and they also take the old mattress. Patrick truly helped us find which mattress was better for us. The mattress which we were looking at had other bundle deals that came with the mattress. Patrick said that they could accommodate for that. Just as we thought we were done, Patrick showed us the different bundle deals on pillows, mattress covers, and even sheets! Once again, our experience was tailored to our personal preferences and it made the world of a difference for us. We chose the pillows for side sleepers. When choosing the delivery date, it’s possible to schedule a time that works best for you. Kawal also helped ensure that our order was accurate. Read moreI'm very disappointed in the customer service we have received since our purchase of our mattress. We came into this location two weeks ago to complete an exchange which that went totally fine. We paid the difference in fees which also included a delivery fee (fine). We put in a request for the delivery date to be on the 23rd which was one week after our transaction and since the delivery address is located in Oakland, it had to be a request because it's considered a "long haul". We received a call from the delivery company stating the delivery date will be today the 21st. That's great because we are moving so our official move out was predicated around us being able to get our mattress. Well here we are and there was no delivery so we called trying to figure out what was going on. Apparently the scheduled delivery was for the 28th but no one decided to call us (paying customer) on this date. We would have declined that as an option. Every person we talked to has made us feel like it was "our" fault because we need the mattress delivered to Oakland. Like it was already an inconvenience. How is that so if we paid for the delivery? We paid the fees? We paid for the mattress originally? If it's an inconvenience, then why is delivery an option? We have no mattress, and we move Saturday. What's an inconvenience is there is no resolution for a matter that is not our fault , although we are made to feel it is. I'm pregnant, with an infant and trying to move. From the moment we walked in, Guillermo made all the difference. He was patient, knowledgeable, and above all, genuinely caring. He didn’t just try to make a sale—he took time to ask about our health needs, really listened, and walked us through several tailored options.
He even set up zero gravity on the beds so we could feel the difference for ourselves. Guillermo recommended a firmer mattress for my husband, who has sleep apnea, and suggested a hybrid cooling mattress for me to help with hot flashes—something I would have never thought to ask about on my own! I truly felt like he had our well-being in mind.
He also educated us on things we would’ve never known about mattress types, saved us money with the best value options, and never once made us feel rushed. We spent about an hour and a half there and left with a top-of-the-line adjustable bed system that we both feel great about.
What impressed me most? We shopped on a Friday, and the system could’ve been delivered by Sunday—with free removal of the old mattress and full setup of the new one. That level of service is rare!
