This was our second month-long stay at the spa this year. The first was summer. We returned for winter. The operation is first rate. The staff shines, even after Cassandra's departure. All of them are excellent at what they do, and so friendly (which is part of it). Maintenance is also excellent. The property is exceptionally well maintained. The location for skiing is very good; you are right across the street from the Vail Marriott; you can cut through there. Skis can be stored for free at Charter Sports, right next to the Arabelle -- so you are a one minute walk further from the mountain than most of the other ski valets, but you also avoid the others' huge lines in the morning, and they are great at Charter. The Spa's pool and hot-tub are great, and in normal times the area on the second floor would be a fine place to work.||||Now Unit 522: This is the best of the 3 three-bedrooms we've stayed at in the Spa. The living room set is great; the TV is spectacular (though the art is lacking). Our two complaints are directed toward the unit owners: 1) It is normal, in Vail, to have a locked owners' closet. This unit has locked cabinets all over the place, including in the kitchen and, amazingly, the only cabinet in the master bathroom. It's inconvenient, and it's insulting. 2) The kitchen is stocked inadequately. A vacationer shouldn't have to go to Safeway to get a full-size fry pan for a condo -- among many other things that were missing in what should be a fully stocked kitchen. And here's the thing: It screams that you are cheap. You could go to Target, spent $100, and give this kitchen everything your guests could need. Why not do it, for what people are paying? This is not hard.||||I would definitely return to the Spa. I can't say I'd avoid 522. (And we encountered similar issues in our previous spa units, to be fair.) But I can't understand why some owners don't...

No water was offered, no cookies or snacks available, not welcoming at all. Got checked in, no offer of assistance with our luggage. New Year’s Eve, no regulation of noise. Parties in the units well into the early morning hours. After day 4 of our stay housekeeping showed up to the unit to grab dirty towels and drop new towels. No other cleaning was completed. No bed sheets were changed, no trash was taken. No directions to where trash should be taken or how we should handle. This unit has carpet and no vaccum. Housekeeping didn’t vaccum so we worked with dirty carpet. Good thing we are clean folks. Outside pool closed 5 out of 6 days of our stay. We had to beg for towels for the indoor pool. ||Day 6 we were preparing for a 5am departure and in bed and roughly 9:30 we get a loud bang on the door immediately followed by a female using a key and opening the front door. No identification, no announcements nothing. My elderly mother jumped up out of bed and slammed the door shut demanding to know who was at the door and why. No explanation the female used her key again forcing the door open pushing my mother with the door catching her toes yelling “we need in this unit” my mother yelling back demanding to know what was going on. Once the female pushed the door open again for the 3rd time my mother caught a glimpse of a fire fighter in full gear standing in the hall way. The firefighter stated he needed to check the unit. No regard for my elderly mother the fire fighter barged in to check what we he needed to check. No apologies, no explanation, nothing. Then the female grabbed the door and slammed it shut as she and the firefighter left....
