They really could have done better. Food wise, the massaman curry was really terrible and tasted like tumeric paste. The drunken noodle was also strong on some kind of flavor, and was made with what seemed like fettuccini noodles.
If the food wasn't bad enough, service is really where these guys fall short. We ordered a vegetarian dish that came out with chicken. We replaced it and were mistakenly charged for both. The server was clearly working the kitchen and the tables and didn't have time to talk to guests for more than a few seconds. We never got refills or condiments. We literally had to peak into the kitchen to ask for our check. We gave them 3 credit cards for payment and asked for a simple 3 way split. The server came back with our checks, indicating that he charged it two ways because one of the cards was an Amex and this restaurant doesn't accept Amex. First, who charges whatever they want on customer credit cards without checking back first? Second, who the heck refuses to take Amex.
If I can offer a piece of advice, I'd say "stop being cheap." You're prices aren't low. Your customers are visiting the most expensive ski resort in the country. Appropriately staff your restaurants. Pay the fees required to accept major credit...
Read moreNot sure what the other good reviews are about, but take it from someone that eats Thai food on the Reg that this place doesn't make "good" Thai style food. We had Tom Kha, Red Curry w/Chicken, and Chicken Fried Rice. We wanted Thai Tea, it was in a can and not made fresh, so that was a hard pass. The Tom Kha tasted like a premade broth. No herbs at all, limes, chili oil, etc....Had to ask for limes and chili oil. There was asparagus in the Tom Kha as well, which is something I've not seen. Needless to say the aroma of asparagus had taken over the soup. It lacked depth of flavor and spice, honestly disappointing. The Red Curry also tasted like a Curry made from a premix. It didn't really have the depth of flavor that curry should have. The fried rice was the best thing, but it's friggin fried rice, that's to be expected! In fried rice I prefer more egg and chicken, but the overall flavor was just fine. The price for the dishes is not normal, but it's Vail, so there's a premium. I'd wait and eat elsewhere unless you just have to have some kind of Japanese/Chinese/Thai Cuisine. We only had Thai dishes, maybe the Chinese or Japanese dishes are...
Read moreSushi Thai in Vail, was an incredible experience! The Sichuan Cumin Beef was a flavor explosion that left me speechless! The beef was nice and tender, perfectly cooked, and infused with a harmonious blend of Sichuan spices and aromatic cumin. The balance of heat, spice, and depth of flavor was simply phenomenal. It had just the right amount of kick to tantalize my taste buds without overpowering the dish, and paired perfectly with the sweet Thai Iced Tea Boba. Every bite was an absolute delight, and I can't wait to come back for more!
We also had an Edamame appetizer, which was delicious and an order of the Basil Fried Rice. The fried rice had a wonderful flavor balance with the sweetness of the basil and the saltiness of the rice and chicken. Overall a nice recommendation if you want something less spicy. The portion size was generous, ensuring that I left the table fully satisfied, and the service was friendly and great!
In summary, Sushi Thai in Vail is a culinary treat. Whether you're a sushi lover or a fan of Thai cuisine, this restaurant will exceed your expectations. I highly recommend Sushi Thai for your next...
