**Spoiler Alert - the staff here was great! This is not at all my focus in my review** I’ve been an IHG member for a few years now and have stayed in a few of their hotels. In doing so, certain hotels under their chain have become preference when searching for a room such as Hotel Indigo or Staybridge Suites. When I think of Hotel Indigo, I think “modern, bright, clean”. This specific location is pretty decently cleaned (with exception to my photo. I’d replace this vibe before putting it on a bed) but that’s it in terms of aesthetics. The building and lighting gives a very gloomy feel. The couch in my room is dented in the middle. The mattresses are not the most comfortable and bedding is so outdated. To give more context, the bed has a skirt. There’s a lot of burgundy (bedding, carpet, couch). The curtains are made of that “stiff dress for Christmas pictures” material and you roll the window blind up by pulling a string that’s on a track . The staff has been absolutely great. Tyler was so helpful and personable. He made me feel like we were friends. I’ll try my best to find another IHG location that’s more up to date next time. IHG should update this hotel like yesterday.

My stay at Hotel Indigo overall was "ok". There definitely is some pros and cons of this place. The pictures they have listed online make this place look like its brand new, it most definitely is not, its old, you can tell they've been trying to keep things updated but you can also tell its a losing battle. When I checked in, I had to request a new room right away because the shower had quite a bit of mold growing in it. The second room was fine though. Room is clean and acceptable. I also did not care for the whole breakfast situation. They have a option when you book to pay extra for breakfast in the morning, which i think is strange by itself, but whatever, you check in and you get food vouchers for the restaurant/bar ( if you can even call it that, its staffed maybe 2 hours a day) the breakfast is just microwaved breakfast sandwiches. The pros of this place though is that the location is excellent, its near everything. Staff is friendly and the price is good. Would I stay again? Yes but only if there was nothing better available.

We were only staying overnight because of the air and water show in downtown Chicago. When we arrived at the hotel the staff immediately recognized my reward member status which is appreciated. The hotel staff was great the entire time we needed anything or asked questions. The hotel is easy to find and in a great location for shipping and dining. Here is why I didn't give it five stars.

The sofabed didn't have any sheets blankets or pillows in the closet so we had to go down and ask for them, I booked 5 people in the room and we had to go ask for extra face towels and towels for everyone they only had the standard when we arrived. The room was a great size but there is a lot of wasted space. The living area is huge but the sleeping area was kind of small. They could easily use some of that space and place queen beds instead of full size.

The closet is small as it is but even smaller space because it holds the mini fridge. The hotel doesn't provide free breakfast so you can buy from downstairs, which is fine but what is the purpose of a minifridge if there is no microwave in the room. The hotel does provide a microwave but it's all the way on the first floor in a little cove. If multiple guests were staying and wanted to use the microwave it would certainly be a wait because its a small microwave and they only have one for the entire hotel. We had to eat breakfast on the run because we couldn't warm up our breakfast in our room while everyone got ready we had to do it all at once on our way out. I would suggest utilizing some of that space and move the mini fridge out of the closet and add a microwave to each room to make it convenient for the guests. Also the ice machines are only on 3 floors and none of them worked if you wanted ice you had to go down to guest services to request ice.

Overall the hotel served its purpose for what we went to Chicago for this time, but we go on weekend trips often and for multiple days at a time, this hotel would not be an ideal place for me and my family if we were on a long weekend trip or longer. Although it was a nice hotel it's not ideal for our family...

I travel monthly for work and I must honestly say this was the best hotel experience I have EVER had. I have never been so wowed with the all around high level of customer service that was consistently given to me and my family on this personal trip. From my initial phone call to inquire about check in for my parents who were arriving ahead of me, I was amazed at how accommodating the front desk clerk Stephen was. He answered all of my questions offered us rooms on the same floor and even asked the name of our dog Samantha that was staying with us. Stephen greeted my parents and especially Samantha with a smile and addressed her by name at check in, which my Dad was extremely pleased with! Stephen made sure that after we checked in that we were satisfied with our rooms and smiled and addressed us all by name every time we passed the front desk. We placed a dinner order at the bar with Joseph and I told him I would be by to pick it up but within 10 minutes he was knocking at our door personally delivering it with a smile! Breakfast was a delight as Delia served us with a smile and checked in periodically to see if we needed anything. It was truly a restaurant feel. The rooms were very clean and well kept! The beds were very comfortable and slept great. The bedding was nice and heavy and great quality sheets. I absolutely loved that there is no size limitation on dogs and that we were informed of the areas for her to be walked and that everyone treated her as a guest as well! I know Samantha enjoyed her stay as well, due to the grounds being beautifully manicured, the trees, the ponds and lots of grass for her to run. This hotel made it feel like a private get away! I have never stayed at a Hotel Indigo before, but I am definitely sold on the great experience we all had and will for sure stay again and recommend to others. (Better than my standard other hotel...

We stayed here as part of a wedding block group and overall were very pleased. This hotel is conveniently located off the main road and very close to restaurants and shopping malls. The first thing we noticed at check-in was the very modern and updated decor, as well as the entire property looked and smelled clean - always a plus! We can't say enough about the courtesy and helpfulness of the front desk staff. Their level of customer service exceeded our expectations! We stayed in a king room on the 2nd floor which we recommend, as the bar area on the main floor is right behind the front desk and was extremely noisy by about 10 pm or so. Our room was large and comfortable containing all the usual amenities including a refrigerator, coffee maker, WiFi, wide screen TV, hair dryer etc. The only amenity not in the room was a microwave oven. (not sure why?) The bathroom had a walk-in shower which, in our opinion, is preferable to a bathtub when staying in a rental room. The sink is quite shallow which makes it a challenge to get a filled glass or cup from under the faucet, plus the water sprays everywhere if any amount of pressure above a trickle is used. However the complimentary Aveda products provided were a nice plus. For us, the lack of availability of breakfast food was a negative. Breakfast is not complimentary (as at many other competitive priced hotels) and is served from the bar behind the front desk. The offerings are ala carte and include yogurt, pastries, beverages and made-to order breakfast sandwiches and/or scrambled eggs. There was one employee working who was clearly struggling to keep up with cleaning plus filling orders, resulting in us locating a nearby restaurant to eat breakfast. However, overall we had a positive experience at this hotel. We felt we paid a fair price for a clean, comfortable, well...
