Was there for a birthday party last night and they wouldnât seat us until everyone was there. Annoying because it was a surprise birthday dinner but ok understandable if thatâs a rule. Then we had 13 people out of 16 people at the front waiting to get seated. So I ask the host if we could get seated as the other 3 guest were on their way so they were definitely coming. He said âno theyâre cleaning the table until the other 2 get hereâ mmmhmm sounds like a lie. So I said, it takes that long to clean a table? He said âwell do you even know why theyâre going to order?â My reply âno but I can find out and we can start ordering drinks.â He smirked and pointed at the bar and said order drinks there and then said to let him know when the rest of the party was there. So I told him people donât get seated and order their food right away. He kept smirking so I asked for a manger and he said he was the manager. I wonder if thatâs even true, if so how the heck did that happen. Definitely needs to check his attitude. So then this lady Connie came to help. Which I think she was the manager because she wasnât in the black uniform. She quickly says weâre going to get seat and we all start walking towards her. Kenny (the rude host) goes sheâs not talking to your party. Thatâs for a different party. Connie corrected him and they were talking by the host stand. While my party just stood there, so I asked if we were walking to any table. Kenny started laughing and rolling his eyes. Whatâs funny? That you suck at your job? Connie runs over and starts walking us to the table and I told her Kenny was rude and that he was laughing at us. She said âI know Iâm sorryâ Once we get to the table everything was great! Ivan was amazing!! Great server. 3
If our party wasnât so big and I didnât have people coming from about 2 hrs away I would have left and gone somewhere else. Everything would have gone so much smoother...
Read moreTerrible. First of all we arrived at the time of our reservation and went to check in. We were told that we had come at the wrong time and they had our name for a half an hour earlier. I explained there must be a misunderstanding and that I had called yesterday and the gentleman on the phone offered us both times and I had taken the later time. The woman checking us in was the manager and she said that I was in the wrong and that there was nothing she could do. I asked if there was another time in the next half hour to accommodate my daughter and I. She refused and continued to insist that this was no mistake of the restaurant but it was my mistake. Clearly it was a miscommunication but I could not believe the restaurant would not take any accountability or offer an option to come another day etc.
then the large group checking in at the same time said they were short two people in their party and happy for us to sit with them. Since itâs teppenyaki style and my daughter was so excited for it, I agreed and thanked the group. The manager still was unapologetic.
Once seated, a gentleman Who worked at the restaurant came right up to me and started yelling at me and saying some ill choice words to me in front of my daughter. He was the person who had taken our reservation the day before over the phone. He was so rude and I could not believe he was yelling at me saying he was in the right and I was wrong. I did not even reply to him. I was in Utter shock. I could not believe this happened. Completely inappropriate.
Again I understand this was a miscommunication between myself and the restaurant but the way it was handled by no accountability or apologies from the manager and then being yelled at by the male employee. I just could not believe it.
We will not be going back to Tsukasa of Tokyo. I used to love coming here years ago but it has really gone downhill and then for this to happen. Very...
Read moreThe food was excellent, but service was quite bad. After our waiter took our order he did not check on us until we were almost done with our food. We sat with empty drinks for almost that entire time and he never asked if we wanted additional drinks. Waters were never refilled, 3 in our party of 4 had mixed drinks and never offered or asked if they wanted another. Our appetizer plates, soup, and salad dishes also not removed. They had separate servers bring out each course. It was not particularly busy. No large parties. Seemed well staffed. After we completed our meal, we continued to wait 30 minutes or more until we were able to flag someone down for our Bill. He happened to be the manager. After we paid and I left an appropriate tip our waiter then comes embarrassingly to our table and asks if we would like anything else. After he saw we had the Bill he left before we could say anything to him. Comical and embarrassing. On our way out I spoke with one of the managers, the same one that brought our bill. I encouraged him that his waitstaff should check on their tables more than once. If our table had been attended to we may have purchased one or two more rounds of drinks, and maybe even a big roll or two for the kids at home. All the manager said to me was âthanks for the comment.â No Iâm sorry. No we will do better next. Nothing... So I gave it 2 stars today. The food is great. The service was poor. We just want to be valued and appreciated as the customer. If there is a next time I hope our experience is...
