So I finished my 2-day stay here and I'm very satisfied and do recommend people to stay if you're not familiar with this area and need a short-term stay. I think it's the best Bang for the Buck hotel in the Battery area. This is a good hotel with lots of good efforts, so I don't know what more you can demand, as a customer, from these people. Employees work diligently, staff remain courteous and friendly at all times and try to remain the absolute service composure if they think they made a mistake. She said I made their night, but I'm really glad to have found this place. This is my first time in Atlanta. So the 'negatives' first: I stayed in 2 different rooms in 2 different nights, first one with 2 separate beds in 2 separate rooms, 2nd night with 1 King bed and a sofa bed. I saw hair on the floor in both restrooms, not super major but they can do a better job with this. First night I could hear the front desk staff and guest talking from my side of the bedroom and then it disappeared so I had a good sleep, second night in different room, I slept in a room by the window by the parking lot and a group of people were making noise and banging onto something but I did fall asleep sleep like I would do at home, nonetheless. So the Goods- Clean bedsheets: this is the most important thing for me and I slept in a clean bed both nights. No odor from the sheets. I think this is the most important thing for all guests. They provide toiletries I would use at home- the Dove brand products were displayed when I was staying. Also clean towels. No odor. Breakfast might not be the fanciest and most expensive you've seen in your life, but they do change the menus, and I saw a different array of choices the next morning. I prefer sausages over bacon, and seeing sausage and sliced ham the following morning were an extra touch of effort. (I was even able to take some of the foods to friends who were staying at Omni nearby, they don't provide free breakfast at the 4-star luxury hotel.) I wish I could've stayed longer and eat more... Good service and welcoming atmosphere, family friendly place, good location if you want to visit the battery and the Braves game. Very spacious room! (1 King bed with a sofa bed) I personally had a unique experience with my stay because of the person I was staying with, and when I was staying at the room with 2 separate bedrooms, we had zero interaction with each other, I didn't even know the other party used the restroom or took showers. My privacy was protected because of how the room was arranged among other things. Really really like this place so far- a 4 star, not 3, to begin with & and I'll probably give them a 5 by the time I leave because I've been here for only 2-3 hours. Booked at the last minute even though I was eyeing on it for the past 2 weeks- I booked a room with 2 separate rooms and 2 separate beds (not a sofa bed) and the first thing I notice are the bedsheets are very clean and toiletries in the restroom is very well nicely stocked with clean towels. Nothing super expensive or fancy, but clean and welcoming. Not sure about the carpet being clean, though. Toilet has been cleaned but you can see a stain or two in the blind spots, some minor noise from the front desk but i have super good ears, so most of you should be OK👌 When you enter the hotel lobby, it's not very impressive and clean, but the rooms are well prepared for guests. It's well worth the money and so much better than I expected, we're already begging the concierge to let us keep the room for another night but the Braves have a game tomorrow. Just make sure to book the room a week before to ensure your stay, not satisfaction, because that's what you will automatically get once you stay here. Unassuming, affordable, and well groomed and stocked hotel with great service. I can be super picky so when I tell you it's clean,...
Read moreThis was the WORST experience I have ever had at a hotel in Atlanta!!!!. At $127 per night, I booked a room with a king bed for 2 nights. Arrived on-site to an elderly man with a back brace at the front desk that looked up my reservation, made me sign a Piece of paper in sections HE highlighted, in order to get my room key for TWO nights. I have the confirmation of TWO nights on my phone via email. I get to the room and I'm so disappointed! it's OLD, muggy and outdated! The AC is on and blowing HOT air (it's 91 degrees outside by the way). I go back down to advise him that the thermostat isn't changing the temp and the AC is blowing HOT air. He changed room to the room next door and gives me One room key. First, the bathroom is dirty. I sprayed a half-can of lysol all over and wiped down everything!!! Dirty! I bleached the tub, dirty! The shower head and handle were rusty and loose, there was no tissue paper, the blinds didn't work to roll down the shade, the bed was HARD, uncomfortable and squeaky, there were dust mites everywhere! Just filthy! But whatever! I am Here just for work and for 2 nights only! I leave the room at 9am and return after 6pm. I pass the front desk and go straight to my room that was CONFIRMED for TWO nights, yet my door key didn't work! I go back down to the lobby and the Elderly man has a paper ready in his hand telling me that I overstayed ONE night in the room and that I would have to sign a new reservation for an extra night. I showed him that I booked for 2 nights and paid for 2 nights pending on my credit card. He gets an attitude and slams the paper on the table after I asked for a supervisor. He then says that I need to call a reservation number because he doesn't see anything booked for TWO days even though I am showing him the confirmation! He kept insisting that I signed the paper HE GAVE ME for one night! He refused to get me a manager or the corporate number and told me to call someone named "Patel" at 9am! Then he walked away from me mid-sentence, completely ignoring me and yelled for someone named "Cynthia " to come and deal with me! Very unprofessional and rude! This man yelled at me in the lobby, ignored me, and called me names! Then I showed Cynthia, the lady who suddenly appeared from the back, my reservation confirmation for TWO nights! Tuesday through Thursday! Today is Wednesday! She confirmed she saw with her two eyes, TWO days but said that their system showed I reserved only ONE day! She refused to give me the number to corporate and told me to " Google it". Then she tells me She had to go home to her family and I'm wasting her time as I asked her to get my belongings out of the locked room. Finally I get to the room, retrieve my things and booked at a WAY BETTER hotel across the street! I am not staying anywhere I feel disrespected and ignored! She told me she is going to charge me for the extra night since I didn't check out at 11am when I had a reservation for 2 nights and didn't even stay 2 nights! I felt very unsafe being there so I left. When I was walking out the door, Cynthia acknowledged that someone manually keyed in my reservation incorrectly but never took accountability. They made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed. Never in my life will I ever recommend this place to anyone! The worst experience ever! From the rude staff to the dingy elevator and old rusty rooms! I hope the manager sees this and address this...
Read moreHonestly, our experience was solidly "OK." There were positives and negatives.
First, on the positive side, the location was good for us. It seemed to be a relatively safe area with decent access to various parts of the Atlanta Metro. It allowed access to a lot of the attractions without spending hours in the car, while still being affordable and not having to pay for overnight parking. Additionally the breakfast was quite good for this class of hotel, with the options rotating a bit. It's not fine-dining, but if you can't find something you would would satisfy you, then you're probably being a bit picky and have trouble at a lot of hotels. Also, our room (which admittedly was on the top floor and away from the elevator) was pretty quiet as it relates to noise from the hallway or neighboring rooms. In general, the room seemed for the most part clean.
On the negative side, the thermostat didn't seem to actually control the A/C unit in our room. It was constantly running even when turned to the "off" position. This didn't seem to cause too much issue for the first couple days (as the temperature was relatively close to what we set, and we assumed it just wasn't quite keeping up). On the last night, though it got quite cold in the room. We tried changing several things to no avail. Fortunately we like it a bit on the cold side to sleep anyway. The unit was also quite loud. Hopefully the thermostat control will be fixed for the next guests of the room.
Another issue was that there was a street light not far from our window that the blackout shade still let in from the sides. Relatedly, all of the pillows were too thick for our family's liking, and the beds were OK but not great. Additionally, the indoor pool was super cold. So cold that my kids didn't stay in long (my wife and I decided to not get in at all), and they didn't want to go back after the first try, which is saying a lot. It seemed as if the heat pump was not working at all.
All-in-all, it was definitely far from the worst hotel we've ever stayed in, but it also had decent room for...
