This is actually one of the cleanest Hampton Inn's I have stayed at in a long time. Room was clean and smelled good upon arrival. Walking distance to the Battery and is an excellent location for Braves games for that reason. Parking is really tight, they only allow one car per room because they sell part of their parking lot for game parking. So this was slightly inconvenient as we arrived around 5 pm for our stay and they had blocked off the parking lot to begin selling parking. So I recommend arriving early if you can if it's a game day, otherwise you might not get parking. Breakfast was actually better than expected. The waffle bar included sprinkles and chocolate chips and blueberries which was a nice addition. Otherwise pretty standard hotel breakfast, good selection of cereal, yogurt, fruit, eggs, sausage and your standard hotel bread section such as bagels and muffins. The hot water in our room was lukewarm at best and never really got hot for my shower. Overall, I would stay here again for a Braves game. It was clean and conveniently located and surprisingly nice based on the last few Hampton Inn's I have stayed in.
Edit: also the digital key doesn't work which has almost never worked in any Hilton brand hotel I have stayed in. If the digital key is not going to be an option then they shouldn't offer it on the app. I stay at a lot of Hilton hotels and it has worked about 1 out of 10 times I have tried to use it. I think Hilton hotels have gone downhill and I am honestly thinking about switching to Marriot at this point. The only reason I like Hilton is because the app let's you pick your room and you can check in without having to talk to anyone with a mobile key. But it almost never works and I still have to go to the front desk. If it's not going to work you should take it off the app. Marriott doesn't have that option as part of their app but at least it doesn't disappoint because it's not an option. Bottom line we should all switch to Marriot brand hotels. To be fully transparent my total bill for this hotel was 829.87 for 2 nights and I don't feel like this was an 800 dollar or 400 dollar a...
Read moreDuring a recent stay at this hotel, my family’s privacy was invaded against policy. On the bathroom mirror in our Hampton room it stated that complimentary housekeeping is by request only. Upon further looking into this policy, we found that the only instance in which a room would receive a full cleaning would be during an extended stay. They automatically go in to clean and disinfect on the fifth day. With us knowing this (and by only having a 3 day stay), we didn’t think we had to put away personal items, money, or things of that nature. My family and I decided to leave out for a couple hours, but when we returned we quickly noticed that housekeeping had been in our room. We literally left a purse with money open on the table. And no, we didn’t count it. We didn’t think we would have to, so there’s no way of recalling the exact amount. We also brought towels from home that were taken from our suite . Our dirty clothes were sifted though in search of hotel washcloths and towels. Underwear had been moved in the bathroom and placed behind the trash can (which is extremely uncomfortable). We also realized later that they threw away a target bag that was placed in the closet that I mistook for a trash bag. It contained my sister’s personal items, but I started to collect trash in the same bag, so rather than realizing and correcting this mistake on our own, housekeeping just tossed the whole thing. I called the customer service line, they called the hotel, and I’ve been reaching out for days about this situation to no avail. I will never stay at another Hampton hotel again. I’m so disturbed by all of this. I’m especially unsettled by the lack of concern with which my situation is being handled. Hotel staff was very dismissive despite the fact that we were very clearly uncomfortable. As though the only reason our discomfort would be considered valid would be if we were 100% certain that something was stolen. Regardless if anything was stolen or not, policy was broken, and I think that privacy...
Read moreI was not expecting to receive a phone call today that my dad was taken to the hospital for a brain bleed and had to go into emergency surgery. Today has been a blur with emotions all over the place. It took me three hours to get to Kennestone Wellstar Hospital and all I can say is wow, what a great place with incredible nurses. ||I quickly booked Hampton Inn & Suites as I was driving down 75. I needed a hotel close to the hospital and one where I could grab some food and a beverage if needed. I had some points so I selected this hotel. ||I was greeted by Ina who quickly picked up on my somber mood. I was trying to keep myself together without crying in front of her. She asked how my day was and I shared with her all that has happened in the last 12 hours. I was not really all mentally here. ||She seriously is an angel. She upgraded my room to a suite because I did not know how many of my kids and family were joining. I had not eaten or even drank all day. As I was sitting on the couch crying, she knocked on the door and dropped me off a bag of snacks. I was blown away. She said she let her teammates know and if I needed anything to come down and they would assist in any way they could. ||I mean who does this? I’ve never experienced this kind of love, attentiveness, and care for someone they do not know. In all my years of travel and all the stays at Hamptons, I have never felt so loved and supported in a time where I needed it most. |I gave her a hug and cried. She gave me some encouraging words. I will always remember Ina. ||Thank you, Ina for caring enough and taking the extra time to show love and kindness. You are what the world needs more of and Hampton should be incredibly proud to have you!||And as for the hotel and room, free parking, clean hallways, quiet hotel for the location, and...
