Booked a weeklong stay for a baseball tournament. Our team was eliminated on a Wednesday afternoon, therefore, there was no reason to continue our stay at the hotel. After an hour drive from the park to the hotel, I immediately advised the front desk clerk that I would be checking out tomorrow morning (NOTE: A whole 23 hours in advance). I was told that I would be charged an early departure fee which is one full day plus taxes and fees.
The following day I spoke with the General Manager, Matthew Shine, and again explained our situation. He began interrogating me as if I was lying about the time I advised them I was checking out. He went as far as looking on the cameras to see at what time I was at the desk. I also showed him an email I sent another one of the Manager’s the day prior advising them of the check-out and he totally ignored it.
He showed no care or consideration, nor any flexibility in waiving the early departure fee. He continuously referred me to the hotel’s policy which makes no mention of an early departure fee. I had to go into the hotels website and go into FAQ’s (Frequently asks Questions), then another link that says “Additional Questions’ to finally see that the hotel “May” charge an early departure fee meaning the hotel has discretion to waive that fee.
Aside from the poor management, we had to call numerous times to get new towels, sheets, and pillows. Also, when you open the bathroom door you run right into the toilet. You almost have to step over the toilet in order to...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed in the treatment I received from the sales coordinator at the Hyatt Place Atlanta/Cobb Galleria. I had been in heavy contact with her for over a week working out the details of an event I planned to hold at her facility, and I had told her I definitely wanted to proceed with a contract. However, while I thought I was waiting on her to write my contract, she then informed me, (on her day off via email so I couldn't reach her by phone at the Hyatt Place) that she had booked the meeting space with another group and that she was no longer able to accommodate us. I found this discourteous at best. If she had simply informed me that another group was interested, or that I was in danger of losing the facility, I would have done anything possible to get a signed contract returned to her immediately. I had told her more than once, in no uncertain terms, that we wanted to hold our event at the Hyatt Place Atlanta/Cobb Galleria.
Now, because of her unprofessionalism, Hyatt Place Atlanta/Cobb Galleria has lost any future business with me personally and with the organization I represent. I am sure the facilities and desk staff are wonderful, as described in the majority of the reviews, but the event staff is hurting this hotel's business. (Incidentally, if you read all Google reviews, you will find this is not the first complaint about the sales coordinator.) For the sake of this hotel's reputation, I recommend she either be retrained, or moved to a position to which she is...
Read moreAbsolutely furious about my experience here. To be fair, the check in process was seamless. The young man that checked us in was very nice and courteous. The room itself was not bad. It was up to par for what it should be. I was not expecting the Burg al Arab for the price we paid for one night... this leads to my fury. The room was 139/night... nice and cheap, we stayed one night for a wedding close by. I do my random check of my checking account a week later to notice 3 different charges from Hyatt Place Cobb for almost $700. I'm confused, I call them, no one has an explanation. I'm asked to call back the next day to speak to a manager. I did, she adjusted the billing and refunded my balance. My concern was the fact that no one could explain to me what happened. Either that or they know and didn't want to tell me...That was then, crisis averted. I put Hyatt Place Cobb out of my mind. Only to log on to my account again today only to see a charge from them.... again... Now I have not been close to the State of Georgia in over a month. Now I'm furious. I called, again no one has adequate answers. But thankfully, they plan to refund me. They need to better safeguard their customers' credit card information or train their staff better not to put other people's charges on the wrong card because ultimately I think that's what is happening. Please delete my info from your records and I will do my part and be sure never to step into a Hyatt Place again. Once...
